Here are some new Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes screenshots. Some of them have been published in magazines before, but now they are available in much better quality. There are also a few new ones.

    That second to last screen with the helicopter looks incredible. The screen of Big Boss jumping looks insane. Everything about these screens are amazing!

      I really try to savour every moment till the release, but I’m soooo fuckin’ excited as well. It’s so hard…
      You lucky bastards get it 2 days earlier…sadly, it’s 17 days to go for us germans ;D

      I must say, i really wasn’t as hyped for a metal gear like this for a long time, this will be just awesome!

        Absolutely everything I have internet wise is aimed at MGS news. So I cant risk a single glimpse online..!

          Man that’s exactly what l did with Rising and you will not believe how l got spoiled. By a YouTube video thumbnail which had Sunny and the title was “Sunny returns”. I was hoping to be surprised when l play the game, but no. The internet had other plans… So, just quit the internet until release… If you can. 😉

            Yup.. and to be honest. That was possibly the only spoiler in Rising for metal gear fans. So other than that nothing “wow” happened for the series as a whole.
            Great game though, just not a very good game.. if that makes sense xD

            But yeah that sucks man. I’d absolutly hate that to happen here.
            I mean.. everything online for me is aimed at metal gear. So If I even glimpse at the internet I will see something.

            I even removed my news/twitter/facebook/email widgets from my phone in preparation. Just incase..
            Especially twitter. I only have that to follow Kojima, David Hayter, MGI and similar.

            The irony is.. the only main reason I use the internet.. is for MGS news! So I should be fine for staying away from it. But…. A 4 days without new MGS news will kill me… DX

            Il look myself in my room and have a play through of MGS1-4, PO and PW. no speed run and all cutscenes. That should suffice xD

          I’m doing the same as you no internet the other day I saw a forum about the leaked ending of ground zeroes probably fake but I got out of the page as quick as possible and just put my iPad down

      I really need this game now my anticipation is getting very unhealthy, I had the dumbest dream last night about this it was something about Paz giving birth to a baby after the rip her guts open, i don’t know what’s wrong with my mind

        Maybe the anticipation is making you go paranoid! 🙂 I’ve seen one or two Ground Zeroes dreams but l can’t remember exactly what they where about. The only thing I recall is that it was gameplay, and it was awesome! Maybe we’ve lost it. ;D

            I’ve had 4 GZ Dreams now that I can remember.

            The very first was fucking intense. (We didn’t know much about the game at this point). But I remember sneaking around this base then bringing up a “Shop” menu. Like drebins shop in MGS4.
            And I bought myself a helicopter than and there. also had a glimpse of the prices/specs of the most impressive helicopters and said to myself.. “Some day.. Just gotta get out of here alive first”
            Shot afew guards, cqced one behind a tower. and made a big sprint to the finish.

            Loved it! The game was soo much more than what it actually will be xD Hopefully TPP can compare.

            Wait, I thought you meant how the guard fell when he got shot with the tranquilizer. I’m a fool… now I see what you mean it looks all awkward and sudden when he lands after jumping. Well then I’m with you guys on that topic then. Although…he does “combine the qualities of a solider and a agent.” He can be as quite as a mouse he moves like the wind! #undetected

            It does look awkward, But in a way, maybe it makes sense that it’s like that.

            It’s what Golgari said about “taking control away” from the player. That’s definitely not Kojima would do, to weigh down the gameplay for the sake of good looks.

            And although he’s got very talented animators working for him (I think he hired guys from Naughty Dog?), he still wants his game to have smooth and quick controls. Hence,maybe, the nice and detailed animations which end up abruptly?

            It’s the same problem with the animation when Snake grabs a guy from a ladder, or does a CQC combo. It’s all very sudden. But maybe that’s necessary to keep the controls smooth and fun.

            Since we’re complaining I gotta say I am really not a fan of the jumping animation in general. First time I saw it in the TPP trailer I thought it looked good, but he grabbed onto a ledge there, when it’s just a free jump it looks so weird

          I think they can’t fix this. The problem is in game’s “jump” mechanics. Traditional Jump does not exist in this game for the sake of decent level design (Free jump would make people cheat or Kojima team will require more testing in the end with the big level design they have right now). KojiPro uses context jump and I just can’t see how they can do it differently. What animation you can do so Snake can jump better from these obstalces? I can’t think of any. Yes, you can make smooth landing animation but then animation will be slow and will take away “control” from the player. That’s the biggest issue.

            They can fix the animation by simply adding a more noisy sound effect to the landing to acompany a jump from a 48 year old man. The sound plays a huge role to the believability of the jump/land animation.

            Noisy sound effect would not work for this game, because the game has some serious stealth mechanics where sound matters a lot. Where guards can even hear you when you use lock picking.
            As I said, it is very complicated to fix this because they would require to do two different jumps. Imagine what pain in the ass this will be for a 16 button Xbox/Playstation controllers.

            Yeah that landing animation was a bit too light.
            I really expect him to roll. Especially in the daylight trailer and he sprints away from the armoured vehicle, and jumps off the bridge. Really at that speed and height he cant just land like he jumped afew feet high.

            But that said, it wont ruin the game for me.

            It’s not complicated at all to fix, you just need to include some kind of animation that shows us he’s just landed from a fall, why would that be complicated? Just any kind of feedback on screen that shows he’s just landed from a 5 feet tall jump.

            But how will you do it where game does not count landing at all? It is based on the context “jump” mechanics. You press a button and he makes the same landing animation everywhere. Jump =/= environment – in this game.
            To fix this with “let’s include another animation”. Basically you need a ton of animation for different situations.
            Do you remember a moment when Big boss sprints away from US armoured vehicle? He jumps off the bridge and do the same thing because it is a context “jump”. It looks weird but it does not take away control from the player.

            I don’t know if I’m confused or you’re confusing yourself, but games have had landing animations from jumps since the PS1 area, it’s not difficult to include some kind of on screen feedback that he’s landed from a jump, could be his back reacting to the impact, legs.. there’s nothing now, he’s just totally flat and continues running, it looks incredibly unnatural.

            Yes. I understand that landing animation is not a problem at all but it is not a problem for a game where jump is counted by the environment.
            Let me give you the example.
            Uncharted 1-2-3 all have feedback and decent landing animation because every time Nathan Drake jumps from the obstacle there is no control whatsoever for his jump and it is automatic and there are a ton of animation for it but at the same time the game is linear and has small levels and few obstacles for one level so developers don’t have issues to make every animation look good.

            Metal Gear Solid V:GZ on the other hand is open world and it has multiple obstacles, cliffs or roofs and you have only one jump with one animation and with that jump you can’t do anywhere except for the moment where you get off from a bridge/cliff or a roof.

            What can you do really? This is confusing I know but I’m not sure it is going to have different animation on launch. I can’t see how you can fix this moment.

            I hope that I’m wrong and they fixed it.

            They can make the landing animation smoother? I read what you wrote earlier about fancy animations taking away control and I know what you mean there and I’m not a fan of that myself, but we’re talking about landing a jump here.. The fact that it’s open world and in less of a controlled environment doesn’t really matter when we’re talking about adding some kind of visual representation of landing a jump, it doesn’t have to be a second long animation that will completely take away the control from the player, it can be something very subtle, games have done this in the past. I really don’t think it’s as complicated as you seem to do.

            Ok. Let’s see what happen’s on launch. I still think it is complicaed to fix because of the game’s mechanics especially when Kojima Productions are super professionals when it comes to animation.

            Ahh I was hoping you actually meant the jumping one. (In the night time where he jumps down both levels early in the video. Also the gif here)

            I agree it looked fucking awesome in TPP when he done it. Now it looks.. cringey.

            BUT I think many fans have over looked something on it. It wont happen in that situation (Im 99% sure). I imagine you can just walk off the edge of it and it will have its own small animation. and not the over dramatic.. “WOOOOAHHHHHHH” 1 feet drop.
            You do see a button prompt when he does it, so its triggerd manually.

            But I, and alot of mgs fans I know, hated seeing that animation when he jumped off the ledges. Looked so cheap and.. Nothing looks worse than clearly repeated animations.

            Keep in mind im not saying it would be easy to fix, Its just a fact.
            and as always.. It wont ruin this game for me. Nothing will! I cannot wait!

            Upon watching that Jumping GIF on a looong loop.
            I noticed.. Maybe there isn’t a button prompt. The trigger seems to be.. Walking off the edge. Dammit no

            There is a button prompt I’m pretty sure you have to press triangle or Y while running off an edge to jump watch the night time demo and you will see

            You do know that the game shown at tgs 2013 was still work in progress?
            im sure they changed a whole lot of animations including the chain CQC
            and the ladder CQC…but above all i hope they change that jumping and
            falling animation…everything in the game is so realistic
            running,crouching,crawling etc…but watching him jump and land like
            that makes it really weird…. FOR EXAMPLE ….RED BAND TRAILER showed
            snake do a roll when getting of the horse…now if that animation could
            be implemented somehow into the landing animation everybody would be

    I really missed the blue lens hue of the game.

    Kinda like how Deus Ex HR with it’s golden hue(i actually like it)

    I just hope they do bring the Raiden DLC on PS3/PS4 in the near future.
