Kojima is worried The Phantom Pain may be too big for some people to finish

Kojima is worried that people will start complaining that they can’t beat The Phantom Pain, because it’s simply too big.

“I cannot disclose the amount of missions, but we’ll have a lot of missions in there.” Kojima said to IGN. He mentioned earlier The Phantom Pain is going to be roughly 200 times bigger than Ground Zeroes, and aside from having much larger areas to roam around, there are also additional gameplay features such as managing Mother Base. Kojima feels there is a ‘risk that people won’t be able to finish the story’.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s safe to assume it’s at least a year away. In the meantime, people can get a taste of the gameplay with Ground Zeroes, releasing later this month.

This sounds great I wonder if he means the story mode or all the side missions and collectibles either way I’m glad he says this

First people will complain that MGSV is too short, and then too big, amazing irony!!

I’m almost at 100Hours into PW, so I say bring it!! I want this game to last me until MGS6!! LOL

    • Nekkedsnake

dude, I’m well over 100+ hours in PW and I still need to beat a big chunk of the main game! it’s really because lack of time, but sometimes i redo missions just to get my PW fix. i still have to beat some tanks and unlock the rest of the main missions. PW is awesome tho.

      • César H. Sandoval

Same here, I still have a lot of ExtraOps to clear and the Srank, that game is adictive as hell even for a portable game with so many limitations.

  • flying_fox

Haha that’s why I love Kojima. Bring it on!

  • Rman

As long as the game doesn’t take longer to 100% than it is to develop, I’m sold!

Anyone here mind helping me in Peace Walker?
I really want to finish the game before Ground Zeroes is out.
I don’t think I made it too far because it’s actually pretty difficult on your own.

So, if anyone is generous enough help I’d really be thankful.
Maybe send some strong soldiers, Tanks, etc? Co-op?

Would love too, then i realized how i hated some of the missions of the game.

Plus i lost my PSP file(transfarring wasn’t available back then) and i started again last year then stopped due to lack of interest.

Now i know why Peace Walker is my least favorite in the franchise.

I’m on PS3. My PSN is

I have a secret PASSCODE if you want… for PSP (idk if it works on PS3) it unlocks many stuff i guess. if you want it tell me .for FREE 🙂

      • MGSFAN

        my PSN is BigBossLegendary

Just release the damn game! Don’t worry about people nitpicking about the game being too long, which I doubt is the case, enough with the sensationalism and exaggerations kojima.

  • Rob Machado

I hope at the end of the credits of ground zeros it will show the release date for phantom pain. 🙂

  • Hellrasinbrasin

I wonder, if KONAMI and Kojima Productions; will do a MGSV DLC release of the Outer Heaven Uprising.

  • Hellrasinbrasin

…But considering how much of a gap closer Metal Gear Solid V is going to be to the Outer Heaven Uprising in 1995 (Metal Gear) I think it would be best that Metal Gear Solid VI begin a brand new continuity with no connection to the original series.

      Couldn’t agree more.

Nixus have you heard about free Peacewalker copy for Ground Zeroes digital ps3 preorder?

I really hate developers that adjust to their fans… I mean, it’s THEIR game; not the FANS’

    • Conor Condon

      who buys it

  • Ricardo Oe

Players will finish ground zeroes in 200 hours of gameplay, others like me will play all year.

But I think between G.Z. and Phantom Pain our great guru of games-Mr.Hideo Kojima, could bring back our best online experience “” “MGO” “”.

    • Riku Ruohomäki

And it will be back! And it looks totally awesome! Here’s the MGO trailer:

  • barthelfatness .

this only sounds intriguing to me. not to sound like a nut case, but most games are just there for me to play until a new Metal Gear comes out.

  • Conor Condon

don’t worry about it bigger the better
