Kojima explains the function of the Share Button in Metal Gear Solid V

A while ago PlayStation Japan posted a series of videos in which game developers talked about the possibilities brought by the PlayStation 4. Hideo Kojima was one of those developers, talking of course about Metal Gear Solid V.

Now, a subtitled version is available as well. In the video Kojima talks about how the PlayStation 4’s memory comes in handy for the open world design of the game, and how the Share Button on the DualShock 4 goes hand in hand with the non-linear mission design. Check it out below.

The share button is cool I’m getting it on ps3 though. I really didn’t wanna wait another week for the game then I saw on psn that the game is is only $25 with peace walker and it’s $50 in a store so im just gonna grab it there so is there any word on whether it is delayed on psn yet

    • In Australia and NZ? Not sure, but it doesn’t seem that way.

It still says march 20 on psn so I’m sure they would have changed that by now I will just preorder it on psn and see what happens

Man! That examiner.com, what a fucking site!? This stupid ass reviewer “reviewed” GZ, giving it a 1/5! The basic reason he gave it a 1/5 is solely the “glorified demo isn’t worth the retail price” reason. Oh and among the 1st paragragh he spoils the ending just because he’s angry about the game. What a fucking loser! He didn’t even review the game! He spoiled the ending and then said the mechanics are great. That was the review. I am real angry about him not warning about spoilers! Fuck.
Excuse my language, but l couldn’t resist.

    • Yes, everyone do NOT follow that link because they simply spoil the ending. And really, a 1? Come on…

      • Solid Snakes Revenge

Yeah doesn’t sound like it’s worth a read.

      • ObsessedGeorge

Yeah, seriously, who does this? I personally haven’t read a review that spoils anything in my life. And this wasn’t even a review. Just 4 paragraghs of whining about the price.

        • Elmatoor

I didn’t read it all of it since I don’t want to be spolied the ending. But I hate when people complain about the price of this game. We heard many times that you can easily put in 8-10 hours in this game. More since it has replay value.

For exemple I got God of War 3 on release and I beat that game in about 6-8 hours. That game cost me 600sek (about 94US$). GZ cost me half of it. I think that I will get more than 8-10 hours of GZ, since I have played through the other Metal Gear games about 20-30 times. Fans of Metal Gear will probably love this game to death 🙂

          sry for bad english.

          • Exactly. There are many games that are as short as GZ or shorter if you would just play through the story and leave it at that. Take games like Journey, Panzer Dragoon Orta (which was full price, mind you) or every fighting game out there (of which beating the story mode once will take you about half an hour). Ground Zeroes has more to offer than just the one story mission, people should realize that by now.

          • Elmatoor

Sometimes I belive people just want to have something to complain about so they get some attention. I am going the play GZ a lot when I get it on the 21 (in Sweden we get it one day later for some reason).

      • ObsessedGeorge

Just take a look at his replies! Full of sarcasm. The way he replies to his readers that correctly criticise his “review” is childish. I wrote a comment about him being a professional journalist/reviewer. Of course it didn’t make it, cause he didn’t allow it.

God, thanks for the heads up. Sounds like this guy needs a good kick in the teeth. I mean, he is well in his rights to rate the game however he wants….but spoiling a game with no warning? Who does that?

    • PrinceHeir

Seriously who the hell spoils the ending of a game in a review? That’s why i rarely trust reviews since they spoil the hell out of you.

I suggest you only read reviews from Destructoid since they’re pretty fair and doesn’t spoil a thing about the game.

If feel sorry that you were spoiled, I do hope you should avoid this from happening again once Phantom Pain releases.

I’m pretty sure they’ll spoil the hell out of the ending for sure.

      • ObsessedGeorge

You know, l never, ever read reviews, only about the games that are my favorite just to see what others think about the game. So, let this be a lesson to me and anyone else who possibly got spoiled. As for TPP, l don’t plan on repeating this mistake.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I think the more reputable game rating sites are observant enough to see through the initial “omg I Hurd its n essspensive demo guys!?”, and will be able to see what makes the game beautiful and innovative.

Or maybe I just have too much faith in the human race. :/

  • ObsessedGeorge

The saddest part on the comments section of these reviews is that many people say “pre-order canceled” just because the reviewer says that a 2 hours demo isn’t worth the price. Like, they don’t have their own judgement.

    • Yes, and they only found out now? This has been in the news for weeks.

Another “review”? Seriously, what is this? I’ve never seen something like this happen to any other game.
(It has no spoilers simply because it is a 3 sentence paragraph) The irony? The reviewer’s name is Luis too.
