Cyborg Ninja RevolMini Figure shows his flexibility on new photos

Check out these new photos of the second figure in Kaiyodo’s RevolMini line: none other than Gray Fox, the famous cyborg ninja from Metal Gear Solid 1. The figure was announced a while back, and here are some new pictures, showing his most recognizable poses.

Impressive! It is identical to Revengeance’s Gray Fox.
    BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!…..l..l….. l’m losing myself…

  • CrazyGuy207

I don’t know if it’s because I’m on my phone or what, but there’s something with the last post that won’t allow comments. Is it just me?

    • There was a Disqus update that temporarily disabled comments. But it should be working now, it still doesn’t? And you’re talking about the post on GZ releasing in Japan, right?

      • CrazyGuy207

Yeah, I was just going to say “I wonder if there is any money to be made selling the game now to the Japanese market online.” Unless, of course, it’s region locked or whatever.

        • So it’s still not working? Maybe it’s glitched then. The only thing that has changed is that you have to be logged in now to comment.

          • CrazyGuy207

Yeah, it’s still down. It might just be the fact that I’m on a phone.

  • Decker

Where is Gray Fox in TPP and GZ, ? You guys have an idea, or theory about ?

    • CrazyGuy207

I think with all the cramming of revenge, he and Naomi probably won’t appear I think.

      • They could appear in the game. It’s the right period in the timeline. It would be pretty cool if we saw some of it.

        • CrazyGuy207

Yeah, but Kojima said that certain choices effect the players in the game and they have to avoid paradoxes or something, right? IF they show up, it might be optional.

          • Guest

Gray fox is Lieutenant of Big Boss, he it can´t be optional..

He is one of the protagonists of the Metal gear saga!

          • Decker

          • CrazyGuy207

I know, but the last time he was mentioned was in Portable Ops. Either way, we’ve only seen the Afghanistan portion of this huge game, so I’m sure he’ll show up somewhere. I’m also desperately hoping that there are more characters than just the ones shown in the E3 2013 trailer.

          • USPentudo .

Portable Ops is not part of MGS storyline (confirmed by Kojima).
He only consider the games what he created.

          • CrazyGuy207

I thought I heard somewhere that he said it IS a part of the storyline, he just didn’t like it because he didn’t work on it.

          • He also said some of the details in the story may be off. Not sure he doesn’t ‘like’ the game, he simply differentiates between games he made himself and games he didn’t. For PO he wrote the overall storyline but not the script itself.

          • CrazyGuy207

Well, I meant dislike in that sort of way I guess. It is his series after all. I wonder if the details are so few, that he could just say something like “It was this character instead of that character” on his Twitter.

          • SolidKenny87

Think of it as like the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The games Kojima directed (MG1/MG2/MGS1-4/PW/GZ/TPP) are the six live-action Star Wars films and the CGI Clone Wars film and TV series (all of which, George Lucas was very closely involved with.)

MPO and Rising are Expanded Universe offshoots of the games Kojima directed. They’re based on the same universe, but they don’t really reflect the creator’s view of the series.

Before the EU reboot and the formation of the Lucasfilm Story Group (which will closely manage all future books and comics and other media from now on), there was a de facto hierarchy of canon. The films and TCW were on top, and were considered the “immovable objects” of the SW universe, while everything below them (novels, comics, games etc.) were essentially fringe canon. Whenever there is a conflict between, say, a novel and one of the films, the films always win.

But George has been known to occasionally lift elements from the EU into the films and TCW (like the name Coruscant.) We can safely assume things like Big Boss forming FOXHOUND and Zero forming The Patriots is canon. But everything else is fringe.

            http://thesnakesoup.org/editorial-articles/leaving-all-that-crap-in-san-hieronymo-behind

Another example; MPO heavily implies that Outer Heaven was Big Boss’ version of Gene’s Army’s Heaven. However, in MGS4, Big Mama establishes that Outer Heaven was Big Boss’ (mis)interpretation of The Boss’ will. This is a very key part of the game’s SENSE theme (ie how the actions and words of an individual can be different depending on the observer’s worldview; in BB’s case, his worldview as a soldier.) This idea was carried over and expanded upon in Peace Walker (he felt that The Boss putting down her gun was a betrayal of everything she stood for as a soldier; he didn’t realize his mistake until MGS4’s ending. “At last, I understand, the meaning behind what you did. etc.”)

Gene’s Army’s Heaven is never, ever mentioned again.

The simple fact of the matter is, Hideo Kojima is an auteur, and as an auteur, he wants to do his own thing and not be held back by canon (ESPECIALLY if it’s canon someone else made up.)

With that said, I consider MPO leaps and bounds less offensive to the Metal Gear Saga than Metal Gear Rising.

          • USPentudo .

Also MGS PO is out of The MGS TLC (The Legacy Collection).

        • Venom Snake

If Phantom Pain will be set not just in 85, but until around 90/95, then they will, but if TPP is just 85/86 then we can hope to see then in The Next MGS after TPP, Chronologically Next…i’m still waiting for The Boss MGS set in 50 promised by Hideo!

          • Actually that would take place on d-day (at least partially), so that would be 1944.

          • Venom Snake

That would be great, and you know how it would be prefect, as a 4 Players Coop Story Mode and in Single Player Swapping between the Cobra Unit as in GTA V

The Game would be pretty much The Suicide that was never made(hopefully WB Montreal is working on it)

    • USPentudo .

Kojima is avoiding spoilers in this game, but he always put the all characters as he can in the MGS games.
Gray Fox is one of the most popular characters of the MGS saga, also he is the Big Boss’s most trusted lieutenant.
Big Boss find Naomi and Gray Fox in the 80s, also he helped Big Boss to fought in the african’s war.
I do believe he will appear at some point in the TPP.

      • USPentudo .
        • Venom Snake

This will most likely happen in The Next MGS after Phantom Pain, MGSVI!

          • USPentudo .

We dont know how many years TPP goes on in the MGS’s storyline.
The game begin in 1984, but Kojima is afraid that MGS V TPP will be too big and people won’t be able to finish the game (Kojima’s words).
Troy Baker (Ocelot in TPP) said in Momocon: “This game (MGSV) is a huge, huuuuuge game.
We got some pictures of a older Big Boss (Shinkawa’s art).

          • USPentudo .

            Here!

          • Venom Snake

Yes, he does look, but i think by too big to finish, i think he actually meant Too Big to Finish his Development!

But yeah, he does look like 60 years old here without the Shrapnel and Smoking a real Chigar, which means that he was smoking a Phantom Cigar because of the Shrapnel!

          • USPentudo .

            And he got the scars!

          • Venom Snake

            Yes indeed!

          • ObsessedGeorge

The shrapnel is still there l think.

          • Raymondius

It definitely is. Look closely, the “two parts” horn is still there.

          • Venom Snake

Nope that’s the scar from the Shrapnel!

    • Venom Snake
      • ObsessedGeorge

I don’t think this theory has any potential since the year is 1984. We see Eli (pressumably he’s Liquid) as a kid. Why do we see Solidus as an adult? They should have been the same age.

        • Venom Snake

Why, he is a Perfect clone, and his accelerated Aging is much faster then Solid and Liquid Aging, and he could have been made during his coma!

  • ObsessedGeorge

    Hahahaha! That’s epicly funny!

    • Solidfox

      “Miller’s glasses” hahaahahahahaha.

      • ObsessedGeorge

        Metal Gear… Metal Gear……..Metal Gear!

    • Venom Snake

And here is why Hayter has been replaced

Anyway, still get over Hideo Trolling Snake in both GZ and TPP with “Binoculars” he has 1 eye for fukk sake!

      • ObsessedGeorge

        Replaced?………………………………….Fukk sake?

        • Venom Snake

Yes, replaced by Kiefer, and i hope if in the worst case David won’t come back as “David aka Solid Snake, then i hope Kiefer won’t reprise the “Solid” role too, hoping for someone like Nolan North if is The Case, which i hope it will not happen!

          • ObsessedGeorge

I know, l’m just replying to you as David Hayter would’ve done, get it? 🙂

          • Venom Snake

I get it now, din’t “catch it” at first it “Flew” to fast!

      • No Place For Hayter

You do realize that Snake asking questions all the time in past games has nothing to do with the voice actor, but is simply the script itself. If someone has a problem with it then the only person to blame is the script writers, the voice actors just read the script.

        • Venom Snake

I know, i never complained about this, i love Hayter Voice as Snake, but because of the Script of MGSV, because Snake is not no talking to much and because of the tone of TPP, Hayter would not fir here, even Skull Face Voice that is the most out of place fits better here then Hayter, and i just love the sh*t out of Kiefer Snake Voice, he is Big Boss exactly how Kevin Conroy is Batman, even if they were not the first to play their characters, they make them their own, and you can’t deny, Kiefer Shuterland is Big Boss, is The Big Boss we know from MG1 and MG2!

And i still don’t get why Binoculars, guess it it was Kaz and Ocelot Trolling Snake, part of Hideo Humor!

      • Glasscut

Umm so are you saying that because a person has one eye they cannot look through binoculars ?? WTF..

        • Venom Snake

He won’t need Binoculars, and i get it, is part of Hideo Humor having Ocelot say it, since he is “The One” who “Helped” hid get rid of 1 eye!

          • jatin

            : pppppppppppppp

          • jatin

            :p

    • That should be in the game as an unlockable option. 😛

By the way, this has been said before by others, but the music in that scene is awesome.

      • ObsessedGeorge

Yes, the music is awesome. Another great soundtrack incoming. Also GZ has a great soundtrack. My 2 favorite parts are when you aproach Paz in her cell with the great piano/synthesizer and the second is the moment when BB shoots that guy in prone position in Mother Base and then goes to help Kaz.

        • Yeah, the instrumental version of Love Deterrence when you rescue Paz, right? That’s a great track as well.

          • CrazyGuy207

Mine is when Big Boss is making his way to the helicopter with his guys and they’re getting shot and he yells because he’s pissed.

          • ObsessedGeorge

            Yes, that one.

          • You can also access the entire song in the menu, it’s really nice.

          • Raymondius

The Ground Zeroes main theme by Daniel James… isn’t official, right? Because is SO FREAKING COOL.

          • It’s a remix of different songs from Metal Gear games, including MGSPW, 3 and 2.

          • ObsessedGeorge

Who is he? He works at Koji Pro? I listened to the GZ theme song by him, but it wasn’t in the game.

          • Raymondius

He doesn’t, but he has made a few cool versions of the main themes. At first I though his song was official because I saw him talking to Harry G-W in a video, but then I heard he used that main theme of the saga KojiPro is using no more (MGS1, 2 and 3 melody)… And maan, he is so damn good.

          • ObsessedGeorge

In the menu the cassete tape is the acoustic version. The cutscene with Paz is a piano cover, but l love the acoustic guitar version too.

          • Oh, they’re different versions? We need a soundtrack cd release for Ground Zeroes!

          • ObsessedGeorge

            That’s right, Boss.

      • Nekkedsnake

perhaps another solution would be to download soundbites of ALL of Hayter’s MGS voice work and install it in GZ to listen to it over the iDroid.

        • Venom Snake

That would be just Dumb, even Hayter himself said it so!

    • No Place For Hayter

At least he says something here, lol. Though why can’t we get in between “talking to much” and “talking to little”, lol.

      • Venom Snake

Is because he is confused and depressed in TPP!

  • PrinceHeir

    I like it!

Revo should really stick to making robotic characters.

I do not like the Solid Snake one, but Gray Fox one is perfect.

Though what was the maker of the Raiden Revengeance one that cost around 200$, but it’s a perfect replica of it??

  • Nekkedsnake

i want this! i assume this will run around the same price as the RevolMini Solid Snake ($32.99). This would go nicely with my PAK Solid Snake and Jaeger toys!

  • jatin

Nyxus could you please send a feedback to kojima productions.
It is about the sheep. The player must be able to harvest the sheep in a way.For food or for wool.

    • You can send it too. Apparently they do read all the feedback they receive.

      • jatin

Already did it in the website of kojima station.

      • Venom Snake

One thing i would like to be addressed is when he uses the Phantom Cigar, i think it would be better if he will take a Sit while fast forwarding time, just like how they changed from the First Ground Zeroes Gameplay when Snake was standing up in The chopper and now he is staying down, i would like the same thing for the Phantom Cigar!

        • jatin

          just sent it.

  • Glasscut

After the demo was released so many people making stupid complaints #toomanyfakemgsfans

    • Venom Snake

But yet they have no problem with Quentin Tarantino Movies having the Over The Top Scenes to balance the Serious Tone, MGS needs some Fun too, it would be to depressing if the Gameplay would have been sad too, that’s what MGS is known for Serious during The Cutscenes while having some jokes like “i hope you become quiet familiar with these [BINOCULARS]” when he was just one eye, and pure Fun full of Humor Gameplay, that’s what makes MGS what it is, it makes you Cry and 5 minutes later it makes you laugh with tears!

  • Venom Snake

    Revelation !

    [ ! ]

The so called “Volgin Ghost” actually looks like a Demonic Big Boss with both Shrapnel’s in his head, and also has The Left Arm made out of Fire!

      • Venom Snake

Yes, but you can’t deny that The Horns look like Snake shrapnel!

        • USPentudo .

The pic you have posted is Big Boss with a demonic look.
          Tormented by phantoms?

          • Venom Snake

That’s exactly what i said (dummy)

  • damn he’s looking awesome
