  • Venom Snake

So this is why Snake Wears as Scarf and a Ponytail…or at least what Hideo wanted to transmit!

PS: Does this mean that at the End of MGSV, like The Boss, we will fight with our apprentice Solid Snake?

She was not in her late 40`s, she was 42 at the time of Snake Eater

      • Venom Snake

        But she wasn’t 30 either!

    • BigBoss_88

Who knows how far the game takes us :). There’s 11 years between the start of TPP and Outer Heaven Uprising from MG1, which happened in 1995 I think. But I’m not sure if the whole Phantom Pain game takes place in 1984, it might go further few years. Anyway, I do believe we get to see Solid Snake at the end of the game, maybe fight with him or train some CQC :D. Or hear him in post-credits conversation at least. I mean, if Kojima adds Liquid to the game he gotta put Solid too >:( …

    • BigBoss_88

      Like this?
;C Big Boss noo..! This still brings almost tears to my eye…with The Best Is Yet To Come in background. Would be very difficult to watch in FoxEngine graphics ;(, cool but so sad. My favorite video game character/hero defeated by other favorite hero.

  • BigBoss_88

Lets drink a toast for the legendary Kojima-san and his great photos, now get back to work on TPP :D!

    Kanpai/cheers my friends!

The Phantom Pain part of Konami’s gamescom 2014 lineup

gamescom will be held on August 13th-17th in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. “KONAMI will use the Cologne event to present new details about [MGSV]”

    • Omid Darakeh
    • BigBoss_88

      “Konami has plans to show
off “major advances” to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PES
      2015 at next month’s show.”

I wonder what these major advances could mean O_o, more majorly detailed graphics for horse shit? Just kidding lol ;), can’t wait to find out what they are!

      • Omid Darakeh

According to Konami, both games “perfectly demonstrate the versatility and power of Kojima Productions’ FOX Engine, while delivering a new experience in visual quality and the power of the new wave of console systems.”

For Metal Gear Solid V specifically, Konami says Gamescom attendees will have a chance to see the “sheer scale and ambition” of the game. The game’s open world–powered by the FOX Engine–has allowed series creator Hideo Kojima to “realize the scale and story he has always envisaged,” Konami says.

The publisher will reveal “new details” about Metal Gear Solid V during Gamescom, which Konami believes will convince you that the game is the “most extensive and ambitious Metal Gear Solid ever.” The game is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4, though no release date whatsoever for the game has been announced.

As for PES 2015, Konami will bring a playable version of the game to show, marking the title’s first appearance at a major public event.

If you’re attending Gamescom 2014, you can visit Konami’s booth in hall 7.1 A030/A031. GameSpot will be on the ground at Gamescom this year, bringing you all the news as it happens.

Gamescom 2014 takes place in Cologne, Germany August 14-17. You can buy tickets to the show at the event’s website today.

Thanks :D. Was reading some comments over there and still the same kind of comments floating around in youtube too… after a year. People still mad over David Hayter switch, I get it though most of us love David. I’m just one of the guys who happens to love Kiefer Sutherland’s voice too. But there are more epicness to MGS than just one fantastic voice actor and one voice actor don’t make a game.

I hate when some of them say they don’t buy MGSV because of it…I just can’t believe how ridiculous reason that is. Might turn out to be the best game of the series, well their loss. And what if Solid Snake would be somehow in the game, even though it’s been said million times he isn’t, so David talk to himself then?

What I’m saying is, can’t really judge something without seeing the whole product, just like with some movies etc… Trailer might be bad, but the full movie could be actually really amazing.
Lol sorry for the rant :D.
Anyway, thx again Omid for the infos ;)!

          • No Place For Hayter

We’ll I’ll never forgive Kojima for his dumb decision (just look at my name, lol) but I’m in no way gonna go complain about it and or let it hold me back from both trying to enjoy the game now that Big Boss is no longer Big Boss to me and enjoying the excellent gameplay and graphics of MGSV (Though I can see reasons to simply not get the game at all after switching the voice actor, I mean for example if you did not want to support Kojima Productions and the switch, or if the voice switch simply breaks the character for you and you can no longer enjoy the story because every time Big Boss opens his mouth your immersion breaks and you can never see Big Boss as Big Boss anymore, either of these i think are valid reasons to not buy the game). I mean ranting about the whole David Hayter thing is pretty pointless, everything to be said has been said, the only unfortunate thing is most people don’t understand the full extent of voice acting and simply think you can change a voice and have no effect on the character (meh) but yeah, everything to be said has been said, so when I see people complaining about it I nod, but god people, I know it is unforgivable and is still dumb but ranting about it and or complaining on the internet is not going to get you anything.

That’s why I’m here and no where else, lol. Everyone here has a different opinion but they still respect other opinions and are not simply arguing to fill a void and we are all actually here to talk about and learn more about MGS, not argue opinion as fact and try to get everyone to somehow agree with you, 🙂

Though now that I’m thinking about the voice switch I sure hope that Keifer doesn’t voice the flash back lines in MGSV. I mean it was dumb enough to have Keifer voice classic MGS lines in the Deja Vu mission, that were classic because of Hayter and the way he said them, so having Keifer show up and say those old classic lines was really dumb for me and was a really big kick in the balls to anyone who liked those lines. We were told that MGSV will have flash back sequences so new people can fully understand the story but I sure hope these flash backs are not voiced by Keifer, not because he is the new voice and not because I hate his voice work in MGSV but because it would simply be dumb to override already official spoken lines just because you now have a new voice actor, it would kinda be like pretending the old voice doesn’t exist just because you now have a new shiny one, it also would not make any sense, one of the reasons (and in my opinion broken reason) why Big Boss now has a new voice is because he is now older so why would you replace his younger voice with the older voice when you simply changed because he is now older? if your voice changes because of age you don’t bend time and space so that your final variation of your voice is the voice you have had and will have for the rest of your life. So yeah I sure hope the flash backs are voiced by Hayter because if they are not it would be broken on so many levels. As dumb as the Deja Vu mission was to me it was an extra fun none canonical mission so I let it slide but if something like that happens in a none extra canonical mission I will have to start killing people, lol.

          • BigBoss_88

Good points and me thinks I understand the reasons a bit more now. I hope I didn’t offend you with my post ;(… Anyway, I’m not saying Kojima did the right decision. I guess I don’t feel exactly same about the switch as some do. Don’t get me wrong though, I would of course prefer to have David as Snake like before. At the same time, I want for the Snakes to have different voices. But the thing that just bothers me maybe most, is people saying Kojima f****d up the series and them not giving Kiefer a chance to prove himself ;D.

I mean the most dialogues are coming in TPP. I guess most fans are justified to do that, after removing our favorite voice.
But as you said, it probably breaks the immersion kinda for many fans. I will still trust Kojima to make TPP fantastic and hope Kiefer will do good job, because if he don’t well Kojima will pay lol :). Also I agree about the Deja Vu things you said, it was weird to hear him trying to sound like David when doing the lines. Anyway, no point wasting time with this because we all just happen to have different opinions 😀 and what happens, happens. It was just momentarily complain for me I had to do lol, after seeing the “Kojima sucks comments” for millionth time around the web ;). I already feel better after reading your wise words, thanks.

          • No Place For Hayter

Don’t worry I understand your thoughts about people complaining about Hayter switch and Kojima, and agree on most of them, so I took no offense from your comment, I just wanted to give some reasons as to why people feel like that, but yeah lol comments like “Kojima sucks” are just stupid, I think Kojima made a huge mistake but that does not negate what he has done and what he still will do, people online mostly have aimless anger, trolling, and complaining, (and inaccurate and immature, anger at that) so you see tarded things like that lol, I prefer my aimed anger and complaining, lol.

I hope Kojima gives Big Boss enough lines in the game so people can form an opinion about Kiefer’s portrayal of Big Boss, from what I have seen (heard, lol, which is not much) Kiefer’s range of emotion and reaction is the same as he is on 24; going from quiet and serious, to sudden yelling OMG CRAP IS HAPPENING voice, but again I have not heard much and I need to hear more, but if it one thing the Hayter and Kiefer switch has proved to me it is that the difference of peoples opinion of someones voice is drastic, I thought someones voice was someones voice, lol, but it turns out people have drastic differences in what they think about that voice.

What hurts the most for me is despite the Hayter, Kiefer switch I know the game will still be amazing (I kinda want to be mindless tard, lol) , and even despite the fact I had a decent amount of problems with Ground Zeroes, I know MGSV will be amazing, Kojima has never let me down with a game, I wasn’t the largest fan of MGS4’s story but it is still an amazing game, for me personally I think Kojima’s writing is at its weakest when he is trying to connect two separate things in his head, Kojima’s MGS games are very singular in there themes and ideas, so when Kojima has to majorly connect them he has more trouble, both MGS4 and Ground Zeroes are about connecting different MGS games and I think both those games have the most problems, which is funny because Ground Zeroes doesn’t even have much to have problems with, lol; where as MGSV-TPP is it’s own MGS game and any needed information will be given in the game, so Kojima does not have to connect it majorly with anything, My hype for MGSV hit max after the GDC trailer and hasn’t gone down since, I will be so giddy when I get my hands on it, lol.

Oh and while I am writing essays I am going to put here my biggest problem with TPP (and maybe my only one?).
            “Regenerating Health System”

          • Solidfox

i agree they are making the game way too easy, i know the want to get people into the series i just hope that they don’t screw up the boss fights with that magic regenerating spray.

          • No Place For Hayter

Yeah…… I like things like the reflex mode, BECAUSE IT IS OPTIONAL, it is there for people who want it and to ease people into the sandbox style stealth, but hey you don’t want it? turn it off! but for the health system, you got no choice but to put up with it. I have seen paragraphs of why it is a VERY bad idea and why are much better ideas, and I myself could write essay’s on why it is a horrible idea, a huge missed opportunity, cheap, poor, and what is a much better, more fun, more immersive idea than crappy regenerating screen fade crap.

Lol, I just realized I created this comment to rant about the health system. I made a comment, you agreed to what I disliked about TPP, now I am creating a comment to say I agree to you agreeing, lol, the health system doesn’t get enough rants, so I had to fill the quota.

          • BigBoss_88

You’re good at writing essays Mr. No Place For Hayter :D!
A part of me like the regenerating health, more than the traditional system with health bar?.. well maybe not. Anyway, because during some firefights you need to be careful and let your health regenerate before going out of cover instead of using the traditional Ration to give you instant health. GZ guards actually owned me couple of times lol, when trying to be too much of a Rambo. But this instant hp is also the reason I don’t fancy the health spray, ’cause it gives you the easy way out of a tough situation. It’s a not a game breaker for me though, MGS3 had regenerating health too and depending on your stamina amount how fast hp go up which was a nice idea ;D.

The Reflex…well what can I say, tried it on the very first guard and I was like naaah this is bs :D. I know it’s designed for the new people to the series, to appeal for more bigger audience, but it does make the game a little easy. I kinda hate how easy it enables people to just go guns’blazing without any worries and speedrun, like through Ground Zeroes. Then watchers are like “Oh…so the game is 5 minutes long, how lame lol” :D. I hope TPP won’t be so short (j/k of course it won’t).

The true fans of stealth turn it off, but I wonder how many of the people who bought GZ actually realized to check Options menu to turn it off? Even some reviewers and people who cleared it complained about it, so I guess they didn’t :). I always check Options with a new game. But these are only two small things amongst the greatness that TPP gives us, so I’ll survive =).
By the way, all this ranting started because of me lol :P…*kneels* I apologize :O.

          • No Place For Hayter

It’s ok, I don’t comment enough anyway, lol, so things like this get me to comment back and forth.

P.S. What we need for TPP is an improved version of the healing and health system from MGS3, nothing beats how realistic and fun that was to use and how creative and immersive it was.

          • Omid Darakeh

I think it is better to have trust Kojima
We will be waiting to take their vengeance Skvl face and zero!!
Too late for debate. According to Kojima, the creator of everything in this series is to show respect. 😉

            And your welcome dude 😉

    • PrinceHeir

Probably just a playable demo from the Konami video that showed the box and arm noise, while TGS will reveal a much newer level and build that’s different from the stream.

So eh i’ll wait for the TGS version 🙂
