New Play Arts action figure: the Psycho Mantis-like character from MGSV

Remember that Psycho Mantis resembling character first shown in Metal Gear Solid V’s VGAs 2012 trailer? Well, it looks like it’s getting its own action figure by Play Arts. Kojima posted the following picture and caption on Twitter.

Play-Arts-Kai-Mantis-MGSV

Wow!
“Are you also PlayArts ?”

He seems to be referring to some quote, but maybe it’s something we haven’t heard yet. Or is it a reference to Psycho Mantis asking questions to the player in MGS1? Of course, it hasn’t been confirmed yet that this is a young Psycho Mantis, or someone else entirely, but that is the most popular theory at the moment.

Either way, collectors have another item to look out for.

    Cool.

Kojima stop playing with my mind.

Btw, it looks great but still creepy somehow :).

  • RoderickThe13

Is he wearing a straitjacket? Maybe he was imprisoned in a sanitarium because of his psychic powers. Anyway, this looks awesome.

    • WhatTheJuicay

I thought it was an overgrown jacket for an adult, but even an adult’s arms aren’t that long. Strait jacket makes sense

  • LukesAlike

    Those freaking sleeves…

  • grapes9h5

I’m so excited for the young Psycho Mantis potential of MGSV

  • Kerotan Frog

    Looks awesome!
But come on Kojima, there needs to be an Ocelot figure. I hope he’s saving that for last.

  • BlackLesnar

    I hope he doesn’t retail for $99.

  • Ricardo Oe

Psycho Mantis in terror set in…

  • Ray

Furthermore, the tweet says “Man-chan?” as in “Mantis?”

He’s really playing with the similarity without actually announcing it.

  • not too interested on the figure at the moment… i would like to know more about the character first!

  • PrinceHeir

    Scary as hell!
