I seriously can’t get over how bad ass Big Boss looks in the sneaking suit.
I really hope Kojima has a smaller team of his remake MGS 3 it would be to damn beautiful.
    *sheds manly tear*

    Random question.
If you guys could have Kojima remake 1 scene in MGS 3 just as a cut scene, Which would you wanna see?

    • Machine Gun Kid

The scene where sokolov wets himself

      • MrVux007

        The Boss fight…. :_(

      • crimsonfox

I would say when Snake gets his ass handed to him by Volgin while wearing Ivan’s uniform. I love that scene, and the torture scene that follows when he loses his eye.

Although, Sokolov pissing himself while Ocelot fucks with him is pretty cool too.

    • Venom Snake

For a Remake i would rather have another team to make it, a team like Rocksteady, the whole idea of a Remake is to see a different spin on the Original, otherwise a MGS3 Remake made by Kojima Prod. would be pretty “meh”

      • crimsonfox

I personally think the only thing a remake would need would be a graphics boost. I wouldn’t want it that much different. I’m too much a fanboy to want too much change. Although I understand what you’re saying.

If I could have rock steady make anything. It’d be a 4 player ninja turtles game. But with their flare and style. I don’t know why I have wanted them to do that haha.

        • Venom Snake

You have the Original, you can simply not play the Rocksteady Version, but as i said the main Purpose of a Remake is not to be a Remaster made by The Same Team, is to see a different spin on the Original, and come on, aren’t you a little Curious how would MGS3 look from Rocksteady Perspective?

          • crimsonfox

            Yes… I am… you’re right

          • Venom Snake

Actually i would rather have Rocksteady Remake MGS1 and MGS2, Rockstar North Remake Snake Eater, introducing the Red Dead Redemption like Open World (Kinda like MGSV) and have Platinum Remake MGS4 (Rising did felt very MGS4)

      • ThreeMadFrogs

They tried that with The Twin Snakes. A different spin isn’t always a good thing.

        • Venom Snake

It depends on who you choose to do a Different Spin, and i’m pretty sure that a Rocksteady made MGS1 could be even better then the Original MGS1.

          • ThreeMadFrogs

I agree with you on that. Rocksteady truly respect the source material.

        • crimsonfox

I just said ” you’re right” to end the conversion haha

    • ThreeMadFrogs

The Boss’s defection on the bridge. Or maybe where Volgin is killing Granin, and the scene that follows.

If there was a scene in MGS2 it would be the introduction of Solidus on the connecting bridge just before the Harrier fight. The music and John Cygan’s booming voice really make that scene stand out for me. “Brother, I’m a whole different game than Liquid.” I wish Solidus had lived.

      • crimsonfox

If I had to choose from MGS 2 it would be when Raiden gets the katana and he and snake go back to back. Then when Raiden leaves Snake to fight Fortune. Visual stimulation at its finest.

      • decoyF0XX

I’d really like to see that scene on the bridge, Solidus introduction before the harrier fight! And maybe Sniper Wolf’s death from MGS 1 🙁

      • crimsonfox

Good choice, trying to weep them good tears ay Nyxus?

        • “The Boss’ defection was a ruse set up by the US government. It was all a big drama staged by Washington so they could get their hands on the Philosopher’s Legacy.

And The Boss was the star of the show.”

          • crimsonfox

My favorite part is when she says “in other words, I’m supposed to kill you… But I can’t do it.”

Then you see Snake sleeping in the background and Eva with her gun to him awwwwwwesome

          • The part where Snake refuses to shake the CIA director’s hand is powerful as well. He just walks away, without even showing his anger.
He accepts the medal, he poses for the picture, but that’s the only part where he doesn’t want to play ball.

          • crimsonfox

I long to see a higher quality higher resolution version of that directors face. To really drive home how stupid and embarrassed he felt holding out his hand to no hand shake. That scene truly is freaking cool

          • Yeah, with the use of a facial captured actor, that would be awesome. 😛

          • crimsonfox

Haha, hopefully they can bring it to life again someday… Some… Day.

          • Venom Snake

We also saw him in Artwork form in Peace Walker when he said “…and Next time you should shake my hand!”

          • Janeo

I love how the director got him back in one of those special scenes I forget what they’re called. The scene I would want remade is the one where ocelot and his unit surround big boss then he just punishes all of them, that scene makes me laugh every time and it also has some of the coolest action

      • without any doubt

    • Venom Snake
  • gerber

Jungle looks amazing, but since I’m going for ps3 version, I wonder how it will look. In GZ grass popping in few meters ahead of you was very noticeable, and here we have a whole jungle…

    • Venom Snake

If you want to avid the “popping” but don’t have a PS4, then go with the PC Version.

      • gerber

Unfortunately my pc is not powerful enough for modern games. Besides, I have a feeling that pc release will take place months later than consoles. And I’m so hungry for TPP. SO HUNGRY KOJIMA WHERE IS RELEASE DATE SHOW MERCY

        • Venom Snake

Don’t think what you have now, because by the Time MGSV Release, in 2015 (March or even June) i bet you will have a Powerful PC, and have Patience, or much better wait for some Reviews from people like Total Biscuit or Angry Joe or Jeremy Jahns, or way better wait for Yong Review to enter The Game with the right expectations!

          • Janeo

I really don’t think anybody on this site will be waiting for reviews, we all going crazy waiting so I doubt any of us will even be physically capable of waiting for reviews. If the PC version does come out months after the consoles can you really say you will be able to restrain yourself and wait.

          • Venom Snake

Yes, i’m not a kid anymore, i will wait at least 2 days since the PC Release to get it, i wan’t to know the Port Quality before trying it.

          • No Place For Hayter

Having hype and not being able to wait has nothing to do with how old you are, excitement for something does not mean you are a child, felling hype and excitement and actually having something to look forward too is a great thing.

          • A lot of people here probably trust their own judgment of this game as well as Kojima’s vision over the opinion of some random reviewer.

          • Venom Snake

Hype is never a good thing, Hype ruined a lot of Gaming Experiences, like Watch Dogs and Destiny Hype did, so is better to calm down and look at it Objectively, and eventually get Surprised by how Great it will be.

And i was wrong, Hype has nothing to do with the Age, but with the Intelligence, more exactly with the Gamer Naivety.

          • You’re talking about overhyping, and that’s personal. You can be hyped for something without having unrealistic expectations.

          • Venom Snake

Actually yeah, i meant Over Hyped, my bad then.

          • No Place For Hayter

Lol, I was about to write a hate filled reply to your comment (still do not appreciate the random insult to random people and your attachment of intelligence with looking forward to something when the two have nothing to do with each other) but if you simply meant over hyped than yeah agreed, over hyping is never good, you can hype for something aka look forward to something but getting blinded by over hyping it and blowing it way out of proportion in your mind, that is a bad thing.

          • Venom Snake

            “Kept you waiting, huh?”

Anyway i still better to not get Hyped, exited, Yes, Hyped, No, and here is why!
EDIT: And i didn’t insult anyone, i was just giving and advice.

            http://youtu.be/cd13fE5WJ3c

          • No Place For Hayter

Agree with the video, another major thing that is wrong with the gaming press and the game industry to add to the heap.

But being “Hyped” is being “Excited”, hype is the excitement of looking forward to something, the problem lies with the gaming media and other sources that seek to blind people to hype, I don’t believe I word I read on the internet and every time I see a trailer or news about an upcoming game I always think “What will the game really be like?” and yet I am always excited for various games that are being released, do I get disappointed? yes, does this make hype (the excitement of looking forward to something) bad? no, hype and excitement are in themselves unknowns and are simply the thoughts of great future things, it is inherently a very human thing to be excited and look forward to media in a form of media you enjoy. Hype is not a bad thing, though it is something to be cautious about because hype is simply excitement and does not in any way represent what you are looking forward too. Whether we think hype is a bad thing or not it is apparent that media industries rely upon it to move and sell larger products, and that without hype and excitement most of the industry would fall. I will end with saying that hype is a good thing, it is a way for someone making something to tell others so that they can go “oh wow” and buy it, and it gives people something to look forward too and to enjoy later…… of course this would be true if the industry had not polluted the use and spread of hype for a product to the point where it destroys the products because they push so many lies to simply sell the product, I am in no way saying Hype is good, but it is not bad, only abused and in turn we are abused by it, and thus we have to be careful anf mindful of the industry and the hype it tries to create, though it doesn’t help when millions of people help drive this hype into high heaven, it is kind of like garbage DLC, you would assume nobody would be stupid enough to buy it but it sells like hot cakes and companies don’t stop making them, and you ask “why would somebody buy this?” and with hype we have the question “why would somebody push this hype so hard?”, a lot of people do really stupid things and they don’t stop doing stupid things, the best thing for people who know what they are doing is to simply ignore the people who are hyping a game they haven’t even played (including the gaming press).

Wow that turned into a large paragraph, hope it makes sense and is not to rambly lol.

P.S. the insult I was talking about was saying that anyone that is hyped for a upcoming game is not that intelligent and is simply naive.

          • Venom Snake

When i was talking about Naive people, i was talking about the people who tough that Watch Dogs and Destiny were going to be The Greatest Games of all time, especially Watch Dogs, and i was one of the people who tough the same thing about WD, and i got disappointed and learned my lesson.

So i am looking forward to TPP, but i don’t expect it to be the best game of all time, like some one here do.

          • No Place For Hayter

            Oh ok, yeah agreed.

Yeah, I think the best way to enjoy TPP is not to have unrealistic expectations.

          • Venom Snake

Exactly, therefore i should stop considering TPP a Full Open World.

          • No Place For Hayter

            ^What he said.

          • No Place For Hayter

“I really don’t think anybody on this site will be waiting for reviews” don’t you mean “I really don’t think anybody on this site cares about reviews” I don’t think any of us care about the bribed retarded over opinionated self absorbed popular thing to think “reviewers” “think” about a game we all know we will enjoy regardless of its supposed “shortcomings” and “flaws”.

    • Machine Gun Kid

Grass popping happens on the ps4 version of gz also. And the elbow popping when your carrying someone

      • crimsonfox

God damn that carrying animation to hell… I can never unsee it.

        • Machine Gun Kid

Yea. Cant unsee it just like the upside down male private parts on the back of big bosses sneaking suit in the above trailer lol

          • gerber

Dammit, now I will never unsee it lol

          • flying_fox

That stupid upside down dick is driving me crazy. How on earth could Shinkawa design that?

It has to have been done on purpose. ^^

          • Big_Boss88

Maybe he didn’t realize the suit look like it when designing it lol ;).

          • No Place For Hayter

Yeah it looks to me like, shoulders, main body, lower back, not, balls, shaft, head………….I can’t believe I just typed that, lol.

          • Big_Boss88

lol you sure did ;D. Anyway, I think I’ll be able to forget this whole nasty issue when I play the game.. The suit looks freaking awesome <3.

          • Venom Snake

Some would say realism got too far, but i disagree and i think is pretty funny.

      • Venom Snake

So looks like is Steam for the WIN.(dows).
        http://cdn.gifbay.com/2014/08/mgsv_is_coming_to_steam-147636.gif

        • No Place For Hayter

We don’t know if these issues will be present or not in the PC release.

          • Venom Snake

Hideo Kojima, his Translator and Geoff Keighley said that you can use the Boxes shown, that they are In-Game Items, so is pretty official.

          • Venom Snake

If it releases on the Same day as the Console Version then is understandable, but if it comes months later, then these problems better not be on the PC Version.

  • Venom Snake

Does anyone remember how HUGE Camp Omega initially was in 2013, at GDC?
    http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/18isw65v8qfplgif/ku-xlarge.gif

    • MrVux007

90% the same as the final release

    • ObsessedGeorge

Why do you say remember? Isn’t it the same?

      • Venom Snake

Is now, you can see that he it was a bit bigger, not a lot, but still it was bugger…or maybe is because of the Better Depth of Field, maybe that’s why it seems bigger here.

        • Mack Ayash

Thats just a wider angle shot dude. And its a corner of the map. Doesn’t tell you much.

    • Big_Boss88

I like how Snake bangs his head on the cliff, like he’s listening to some cool music.

  • Fredy Carius

Can’t wait to go home and download it. The GameSpot video was also 1080p 60, but was so compressed that they fitted it in 700mb. Gamersyde videos are so good they look like real ps4

  • Hanna-Mari

My sh*t laptop can’t play a goddamn video! FFUU–

    • crimsonfox

1000 Sorrows, The only 60 fps videos I get to see are at work too. My home computers ain’t worth a Chico…

  • ThreeMadFrogs

Does Snake/Big Boss still have the big snake looking scar on his chest like in Peace Walker? I’ve been trying to get a glimpse of it, but the video never really holds still on his front side.

    • Venom Snake

If you played Peace Walker you would know that the Scar was Fake, that he had a wire made to look like her Scar, a wire which he used to escape the Prison Cell.

      • ThreeMadFrogs

I have played Peace Walker, but not in quite a while. I must have forgotten that piece of info! Time to go play it again I think. Thanks.

        • Venom Snake

          You’re Welcome.

        • No Place For Hayter

I never saw that cutscene, if you complete all the quicktime actions in the mission before you get a keycard and you don’t need the saw, and so I only knew about it when someone told me, lol.

    • kojimaworldorder

Nah i dont think so… big boss got over the boss’s death at the end of peace walker so i dont think it will appear in tpp. also the scar was fake to hold a jigsaw and also served as a visual testament to big boss’s passion with the boss

  • ThreeMadFrogs

I wonder if we’ll ever see characters from Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake represented in new games. Bosses like Shotmaker, Running Man, Jungle Evil, Machine Gun Kid etc. And how they came to be under the command of Big Boss. I feel like these guys are often neglected in favor of the Solid series bosses.

    • Venom Snake

I bet the African Child with Afro hair is Machine Gun Kid.

    • Big_Boss88

In my opinion it would be awesome to see some of MG 1 or MG2 characters, the origin of how they joined Big Boss’ army. If the game goes further than 1984 we might see something about this.

  • John Rhogan

Stupid question, but where online do the 1080p 60fps videos come from? I’ve been wondering about that recently.

    • Gamersyde gets these videos directly from Kojima Productions.

      • ObsessedGeorge

Yeah, it’s pretty cool that they have his exclusivity! 😉

  • Big_Boss88

    Sure looks amazing <3 !
I'm super glad it's 2015 soon so we can play in Afghanistan and Africa all day long and I hope we get release date for TPP November or December.

  • No Place For Hayter

    YES!

Too bad I don’t bittorrent, lol.

  • Guys, I’ve been pretty busy the last few weeks and I’m not ”updated”… Are there any rumors about release date or anything relevant? Thank.

    Love me

    • No Place For Hayter

Other than the TGS cutscenes and gameplay videos, the only thing we know that is new’er is that TPP is coming sometime in 2015.

    • Venom Snake

Hideo confirmed that is 2015, and that is close to completion.

Speculation: There will be VGX 2014 soon, and since Spike TV is where “The Phantom Pain” was announced and where GZ Release Date was revealed, is very probable that he will reveal TPP Release Date this December at VGX.

  • moto hellogoto

5 gigs? I think I’ll pass on that.

    • No Place For Hayter

The last gameplay demo at 1080p 60fps was nearly 7 gig.

      • moto hellogoto

Wow. I get pretty good speeds with my uverse internet but 5 gigs for only 20 minutes of gameplay? Maybe if it was an hour long then I’d consider it.

  • Xomak

Just wanted to throw this here, but you can hear a new verse from “Sins of the Father” at the end this TGS panel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGsfOvyb2Dc&t=43m15s

    • Nice, thanks! Sounds awesome.

    • ObsessedGeorge

Man what a performance by Donna Burke! This is going to be epic!! Thank you very much for sharing it! It slipped under my radar.

    • Le Guy who drowned quiet

      AWESOME!!

    • Le Guy who drowned quiet

      now its a revenge song.

    • No Place For Hayter

The special edition had BETTER come with the soundtrack OR ELSE I AM GOING TO KILL A LOT OF PEOPLE, it has been a recent trend to not include an actual artbook and a complete soundtrack in a special edition and I sure as hell hope TPP does not follow this trend, I get one of these games every 5 or more years so don’t get stingy with my special edition.

P.S. I know it will but I hope the special edition does not come with a steelbook case, I’m not going into the thousand reasons why they are the worst idea known to man instead I will simply say, I DO NOT want to break my MGSV-TPP disc after waiting years to play it.

    • Big_Boss88

Awesome! I totally missed that :D, arigatou!

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

some fucker on charlieintel said quiet was showing her boobs like a stripper.
the heroine of aw was shown and that’s why.

  • Nekkedsnake

FYI, Ground Zeroes is on sale on the PSN store. 9.99 for PS3 (8.99 for PS+ members), 14.99 for PS4 (13.49 for PS+ members). MGS1 is also on sale for 4.99 (4.49 PS+) the HD Collection is also on sale. also just found out MG RISING is 9.99 (8.99 PS+). just sayin.

  • Omid Darakeh

Miller ! She Save The BOSS ! :S

Gonna be Godly for sure ^^

    • Venom Snake

I think the battle will be between MGSV and Arkham Knight.

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

        really amazing graphics AK has
(wait 1 sec is the engine ue4?no>its ue3.)
        (but I thought its ue4)

        • Venom Snake

Still Unreal 3, but it looks Amazing.

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

            that’s what im telling.
it looks ue4 but its ue3.

    • No Place For Hayter

You say this on a site specific for MGS news? Here let me start it for everyone.

MGSV-TPP wins by far. (that and we don’t even know anything about U4 yet)

      • PrinceHeir

Why not? It’s not like the only games people player here are MGS(it would be sad if that’s the only thing they play)

I would say Single Player would be neck to neck, i know gameplay mechanics MGSV would probably be bigger and better than UC4, but i think UC4 would definitely blow MGS for multiplayer as well as graphics and character models.

But i think it all comes down to the story and how it’s told and experience. While i don’t care about awards, Uncharted 2 is probably 2nd(or at least top 4) game to have the most GOTY awards last gen while The Last of US has the most GOTY awards. Both games are made by the same team and they will handle the upcoming Uncharted 4 game.

So of course there are expectations for this game. And in case it needs to be said. I definitely prefer UC2 over MGS4. Other than flashbacks from past games, MGS4 hasn’t really aged that well, not to mention tons of retcons that made no sense.

I only played MGS4 single player once(got around 24 hours; got every scene etc), while Uncharted 2 i played the hell out of the online and i still play Uncharted 3 MP from time to time(probably around 1000+ hours now).

I’m excited for both games. Kojima has learned alot after MGS4(notice how MGSV is more gameplay centric compared to past games?) and i’m sure Naughty Dog won’t pull another UC3(Great game, but lots of questionable changes as well as rush story towards the end)

        • MGS4 is really a game that needs to be played multiple times to completely appreciate all the small details and symbolism in the plot. In that way it’s similar to MGS2.

          • PrinceHeir

Believe me, i always ALWAYS replay MGS games.

MGS2 is probably 17th time, MGS1 5th time, MGS3 14th time. Heck i’m on my 3rd playthrough Deus Ex HR(playing DC for the first time) right now.

MGS2 is actually my favorite game and i know it’s an important part to MGS4. But There’s just something not right about MGS4 that i can’t seem to pin point. I understood the references and what Kojima was trying to tell, but i think the problem is the mini details are left in codec conversations. Add to that how characters are now being revived out of nowhere, Nanomachines being an important key to answering everything, even though the only purpose of Nanomachines was to freeze your blood as well as for codec(at least in MGS1 and MGS2) and i do feel that the game should have been divided to three parts instead of one whole game. Tying 20 years(at that time) of history in one game is probably too much tbh.

It’s funny i bought the game months after its launched(2008; didn’t know it was being released at the time since i just came in the US that year) didn’t play it till 2 years later(2010) then 4 years later, i still don’t have the drive to replay it.

Maybe i really should get back to it? Now that i’ve think about it, 4 years seems to be a long time now. I just finished the MGSHD Collection last summer 2013(i think i mentioned this already), so i’m surprise i didn’t replay MGS4 and Peace Walker this summer O___O

I’m already spoiled with MGSV mechanics, but yeah maybe i should get back to MGS4 sometime ^^

Peace Walker, probably a little more waiting, but it might be too late once MGSV TPP comes out XD

I replayed MGS4 when the trophy patch came out (It gave me a reason to come back and play it again), and I replayed PW when the HD edition came out (Got over 200 hours in both the HD and original of PW, and yes I need mental help, lol.) oh I also replayed the rest of the games when the HD collection came out including MGS1 which was not a part of the collection.

Each to his own, but by reading your comment we appreciate different elements and games, so for me hands down MGSV but for people with different tastes such as yourself will be excited to see how each game will fare.

P.S. (An IMHO paragraph) I hope I can say this here without being killed but for me MGS4 is a truly great game but it is a terrible MGS game, the story was really bad and really butchered the series, Kojima needs to stick with individual experiences. And I don’t mind the 3000 hours of cutscenes my only problem is when you cut them and get a short campaign which you didn’t realize was short because of the cutscenes. Though even though its short comings and how much I love UC2 (By far the best in the series and a truly excellent game) I would prefer MGS4 over UC2 simply from a gameplay and game mechanics point of view.

I know many think of Uncharteds as the best games ever and I admit they’re great. But for some reason I have only played once through the 3 games, not sure why. The whole story and characters etc of Uncharted games just don’t pull me in like MGS does. It was actually the same with TloU, well that I played twice.

As a comparison, I have watched MGS trailers 1 million times and UC4 trailer about 3 times. Read info or news about MGSV zillion times and about UC4 maybe 10 times, so I’m a bit more excited of TPP xD!
I’ll still of course buy UC4 ’cause Naughty Dog makes awesome looking games ^-^.

Anyway, compared to Kojima’s games they don’t stand a chance, lol my fanboyish side maybe said that. MGS games are the few games, which I play countless of times again and again and never getting tired of them :). They’re just so amazing.
So for me it’s like this, MGSV gonna be the best game of the next 100 years 😀 !

Big Boss: Winning the title of best game…piece of cake.
