Konami has announced that they will be bringing both the western and the Japanese special editions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to the Asian region.

This means that the Asian market (Hong Kong and Taiwan, among others) will have all three special editions to choose from: the English collector’s edition that includes the half size bionic arm, the Japanese Special Edition and the Japanese Premium Package that includes the full size bionic arm. It seems only the PlayStation versions will be released though. The special edition MGSV PS4 console will also be released there.

The game will release in the Asian region on September 2nd 2015.

  • So Hong Kong, Taiwan and others get to pre-order the collector edition and Brazil doesn’t? What the hell, the game has been translated into Brazilian Portuguese and they won’t even allow us pre-order it? Thanks Konami.

The West wants a full scale bionic arm! I signed that petition on Snake Soup’s Tumblr, hopefully it’ll happen

Asian releases tend to have this.

For example they can have Tales of Xillia JPN Version with Chinese subs release the same day as Japan, then a few months later releases the US English Version same times as the US.

So yeah they get both versions in both regions at the same time with Chinese subs. This is common in other games as well.

    Lucky!!!!

Come on, Europe is not that far away from Asia, surely you can bring the Japanese collector’s edition to Europe as well :P.
