  • CodeBox

Please sell it in the US! I need MGSV’s Soundtrack!

  • No Place For Hayter

OMG MUST HAVE! Seriously though I am going to get this, lol. just need more information on that artbook and I’m set.

  • Silverius

    I NEED THIS.

  • ObsessedGeorge

Speaking about the soundtrack, IGN posted a video about songs that could be included in MGSV.
    http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/06/01/music-for-metal-gear-solid-5-the-phantom-playlist

    • This CD won’t contain the licensed songs though, just original music.

      • ObsessedGeorge

Yeah, of course it couldn’t contain the licensed songs.

        • Sorry, just wanted to prevent any misunderstandings. Carry on! 🙂

          • ObsessedGeorge

I’m looking closely at the pic you posted Nyx and l noticed how insanely detailed BB’s prosthetic arm is. Could it be that a prosthetic arms company made it for TPP, Kojima scanned it and put it in the game? That way the marketing goes both ways just as the supposed doctor marketing theory suggests? That robotic partnership that was teased?

          • The partnership seems to be related to the bionic arm at least.

      • Edward Wokhands

Why won’t it? I haven’t clicked the IGN link. So tired that I can’t be bothered leaving this site. -_-

        • This soundtrack is just original music judging by the name, meaning music specifically made for the game.

          That’s what it means right?

          • Batzi

You’re right. Don’t expect “Here’s to you”, “Not your kind of people” or “Nuclear” to be included. OST = Original SoundTrack.

          • Edward Wokhands

I’ve seen a lot of “original soundtracks” that contain both the composed music for the movie and then also have licensed music that plays during the movie too. I’d be surprised if Kojima didn’t include Sins Of The Father and Here’s To You on the soundtrack. I was saying in another comment section (well, someone called me crazy for saying it) that TPP won’t have a traditional soundtrack in my opinion. Did any other MGS game have “real world” music in it? The closest I can think of is the MGS3 opening theme. But that was made for the game.

Anyway yeah, I’ve seen a few soundtracks that mix both licensed and composed. I’m probably wrong though. It’d be cool if this soundtrack starts with Here’s To You, goes through Ground Zeroes original compositions, then into Phantom Pain.

          • MGS3 also had Way to Fall, that was licensed. But you may be right, maybe this soundtrack will contain both types of songs.

          • Edward Wokhands

Turns out it is mixed. Awesome. Kojima being awesome again.

Oh wait, you probably posted the story where I read that. -_- Thanks. :p

I hope somebody upload this on youtube c:

Just realized… E3 is soon so maybe we’ll get some news!

    • ObsessedGeorge

Don’t forget about June 9 where the preview embargo lifts!

      • Batzi

Actually OPM is breaking the embargo day and is releasing a 16 pages preview in 3 days.

        • kirtanloorii

PlayStation and Konami seem to have some kind of special deal. There are going to be five versions of the game, but you really only see them play the PS4 version.

          • Batzi

It used to be Microsoft and Konami now it has been Sony and Konami (the way it should be) for some time. I think the deal between MS and Konami got fucked after Kojima released the GZ graphic comparison video showing the differences between versions. In fact, Kojima made it clear that the PS4 version was the way to go. Why the hell would MS support that?

        • ObsessedGeorge

Great! The sooner, the better. 🙂

          • Batzi

Make sure there aren’t any spoilers before you read though.

          • ObsessedGeorge

They said that they aren’t allowed to post story stuff. So, only gameplay… I hope… Even though l got screwed a year ago where a couple of days before GZ’s release a stupid site spoiled the ending for me saying that “Paz dies from a bomb” in the review’s last paragraph.

          • Batzi

Which is exactly why you need to double check before you read.

          • Kazuhira-on-the-roof

            Paz doesn’t die???!!!!

          • Mr.Pony

I know the feeling, i didn’t even knew Paz was in GZ until i got spoiled just days before the release on the PC.

          • Gatsu

I did the terrible mistake of visiting youtube few days before got GZ and then read a comment “Paz got 2 bombs”. I was like oh no… thanks -_-. But of course I refused to believe it all the way to that chopper scene.

        • Le Guy who drowned quiet

          Please share the link plz?PLZ????

      • hunner

Does anybody know if there will be any story info in all of these previews? I don’t wanna be spoiled.

        • Batzi

Konami said no story spoilers. We don’t know what the previewer considers spoilers and what it is ok to share.

          • Melyssa

Considering that they’ve already spoiled Mission 9’s objective and Mission 10’s surprise, I’d rather not read them at all.

          • Edward Wokhands

If that’s the case then I’ll be ignoring them. It’ll be tough.

          • Kol Leqejza

yeah, exactly what i thought! i’m glad i didn’t read about the surprise… if there is new gameplay i want to experience it by myself.

          • Melyssa

Mission 10’s surprise isn’t related to gameplay, but to the story. And pretty much EVERYONE is looking forward to that part of the story, I think that’s why they were so careless to spoil it.

          • Kol Leqejza

thank god i didn’t read it at all! i’m mature. i can wait it out till september.

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Hope no spoilers.spoilers make me addict to the net for more mgsv spoilers.fake leaks count.

      • Edward Wokhands

:O I didn’t know about that! OH SHIT!

  • Batzi

It’s odd that we haven’t heard the main theme music for MGSV. Every MGS had a Main Theme Music and a Main Theme Song. We already know the song (Sins of The Father) but we still haven’t gotten anything regarding the main theme music. I hope we get something at E3.

    • Edward Wokhands

I don’t think it will have a traditional “main theme”. It’ll probably be more ambient with specific themes for characters/story themes. I can’t really remember the music from Ground Zeroes and I put 80 hours into it. I hope I’m wrong to be honest. Whatever we get will be the right choice though.

When things start getting really realistic and dark an orchestral theme can sometimes take away from the atmosphere.

      • Batzi

GZ is MGSV. It was not supposed to be separate from TPP.

Every MGS game had a traditional “main theme” and TPP shouldn’t be any different.

        • Edward Wokhands

What is GZ’s main theme then? That’s my point. Going on GZ we know what to expect. Diegetic music sources and ambient, non-invasive music that you don’t know exists until it’s gone. What I mean is that it won’t have a traditional “orchestral composition” in the way MGS 1, 2, 3 and 4 did. I can think of every game’s “main theme” instantly. When I think of GZ which you rightly say IS TPP all I think of is the Ennio Morricone theme. When I think of TPP I think of Sins Of The Father.

This is a WAY more realistic setting, it wouldn’t make much sense to have a real orchestral theme. If it has one I’ll be very surprised. As you say, again, GZ IS TPP, it would be weird to suddenly have a “theme tune” like the DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN (hopefully you can tell what game that is? -_-) theme.

      • GZ had a few different kind of music tracks, a main theme, remixes from earlier songs (Love Deterrence) and some more.

        • Edward Wokhands

They’re all ambient though. I can’t think of what they are and I have 80 hours in this game. I have maybe 20-30 hours each in 1, 2, 3 and 4 and can think of every theme instantly. They have very specific orchestral themes. There’s a very fine balance in games, if something is more cartoony, further away from reality it needs a more substantial orchestral bed, some sort of theme to keep you attached, to give you a feeling of familiarity. Try playing Final Fantasy 7 with the music muted and you’ll see what I mean. It feels VERY empty.

GZ doesn’t need a “proper” orchestral theme. That’s why we get Chico’s walkman as the intro. It’s a solid connection to the “real world”. Hopefully I’m making sense. I get a very “Breaking Bad” feeling from this game. There might be ambient music in Breaking Bad and it has a very short intro tune but other than that none of the music is memorable in the way say, the music from Star Wars is. I see MGS 1,2,3 and 4 as having “traditional” soundtracks. They’re like Hollywood movie soundtracks. GZ and TPP have a more modern approach to music. I can’t see TPP taking a sudden massive turn when it comes to music and introducing a composed “theme”.

          • Vegas

When I see people talking about how many hours they have in a game I always get surprised because I mostly have only a few hours in each game (except Skyrim with my 200+ hours). But now I noticed that I played all MGS games 3 times each at least (4 was 4 times and 3 was at least 5). I take 10 hours to complete each. If i do the math thats almost 300 hours of Metal Gear. How can this game make us play it so much? I usually play 5 hours each game ffs… and Its not even open world. I wonder… how much we shall play The Phantom Pain? *hype*

          • Edward Wokhands

I know! I was going to say the same thing; they’re all linear games! MGS games seriously deserve more praise amongst mainstream gamers. The only game that even comes close in terms of detail and obvious care from the developers are The Witcher games. But still, they’re 2nd to MGS for me. MGS 3 and 4 especially are masterpieces. They are perfect games in every way in my opinion. They’re the gaming equivalent of The Sopranos or Breaking Bad. A lot of love and obsession has been put into them and a lot of emotion.

I’ve been kind of obsessing over what makes a game good recently and I think it comes down to humor, detail and some sort of shock/surprise/discovery. I think those 3 words describe every MGS game and every great game you can think of. Think of all the dull games you’ve played, one or more of those things will be missing. (Most often humor and shock, especially in modern games. Or the attempts at surprise and humor are just lazy so fall flat.) Kojima obviously creates games for the love of the artform, because he wants to express himself and explore new ideas. The money comes second. Good art usually makes money because people want it. Most other companies have inverted that idea, they want the money so they make art. That almost always results in shitty art. Hence the state of modern gaming.

Anyway, Phantom Pain will be insane. I was surprised myself at how much time I’d put into Ground Zeroes! It’s tiny! But you can experiment for hours and just mess with guards and find new things. I think around 400 hours will be put into TPP if we compare to GZ. I seriously can’t wait.

          • Vegas

When you said humor i was about to disagree but then I noticed that… you’re right. Devil May Cry, Skyrim, Fallout, The Witcher, Batman Arkham Series, Uncharted, The Last of Us, even the more classics like Tomb Raider, Crash, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, even fucking Resident Evil… they all have that. Nice thinking dude xD

          • Edward Wokhands

Thanks. 🙂 I’ve done a LOT of thinking on this, I’m building a game myself so I’ve had to obsess over the subject. So many games are lacking in pretty much every area.

The same goes for movies and TV shows. What made Breaking Bad great? And The Sopranos? The humor is really important and usually goes overlooked. Lol, Resident Evil, I’ve just been playing the remake and didn’t realize how self aware it was, you’re right, it’s a funny game… Jill Sandwich. -_-

You’re right about the old Tomb Raiders too… Lara had a real personality. If you’re referring to the newest Tomb Raider I didn’t really like it, it was a little too serious for me. Then again I played it a long time ago, does it have much humor in it? If it does I’ll go back to it.

          • Vegas

The newer ones doesn’t, sadly. They are like “Look at this poor girl bein fucked up by every living creature and even the scenario. And she still saved the day! Beautiful”. Thats why Uncharted was better aclaimed even as a new series. Oh and for the graphics too. And controls. And story. Yeah I didn’t like the new Tomb Raider :/

          • Edward Wokhands

lol! Yeah, those are my thoughts on Tomb Raider too. The new Tomb Raider is Uncharted with zero humor. I wish they would have just continued with the previous feel of the game. It had real personality, a real sense of discovery. I know people say “it was around BEFORE UNCHARTED” but it doesn’t matter, they obviously took a lot of influence from them. They just forgot the most important part, the over the top ridiculousness and funny characters. Some of my favorite female characters are those in Uncharted, they’re all great, they all have flaws and all feel realistic.

As you implied, Lara is too perfect, I can’t think of one wrong thing she does. In fact that game felt like it had an agenda, like it didn’t want to offend. All the women are PERFECT, they’re flawless in every way. The only bad person is the professor, he’s arrogant and annoying. Can we have some realistic women in games please? Instead of developers trying to prove a point that ruins the game? Anyway I’m ranting. :p

          • Vegas

Btw forgot to ask… a video game about what?

          • Edward Wokhands

I’m working on 3 small ones with someone. We’re basically a two man team and share most jobs. I don’t know whether we should combine them all. There are 2 what are basically puzzle platform games and one more ambitious RPG. We had a big problem with The Escapists. It was SO SO weird. We were building a prison RPG where the overall objective was to escape. Kind of like Harvest Moon set in a funny, comedic prison. Not to sound arrogant but it would have been deeper than The Escapists. The problem was that we did EVERYTHING The Escapists did and we did it like a year before The Escapists released. Our art style was identical and everything. It was kind of sad but we had to scrap it. People would have said we ripped it off. We should have publicized the development early on so there’d be some evidence. I’m not saying that The Escapists copied or anything, just that they thought of the same idea on a simpler scale.

Anyway I’m ranting. :p The games we’re doing now are just puzzle platformers, they should work on tablets and phones too. We’re working on a combat system for the RPG too that might turn out to be unique.

          • Vegas

Well, it seems really promissing. I can see your passion on it. Post here any footage you have, like a demo. And to combine a platformer with an RPG its kinda hard (unless its an action RPG like Skyrim etc), so my advice is to make different but well detailed games. There is nothing better than a game well polished. Good luck man 😀

          • Edward Wokhands

Thanks! Yeah, the problem is that detail in games is SO hard. It takes so much time. That’s what bothered me about the previous game. We both put so much work into it and then had to just scrap it.

I’m thinking of starting a blog or maybe a Youtube channel with the progress and development notes and stuff. Maybe some programming tutorials to show how certain problems were overcome. If I get around to that I’ll post a link for you so you can check everything out.

          • Vegas

            I’ll surely have a look 😀

      • ObsessedGeorge

GZ’s gameplay music was somewhat generic, but God everytime l hear the song posted below, l get chills down my spine! The song is from the last cutscene and is amazing!

        https://youtu.be/GkkqLTGZRFo?t=1m58s

and also my second favorite song from GZ.

        https://youtu.be/S0CQcUV2wD0?t=11s

        • Sly
        • Joaquin Romero Victorica

“the world is born from the most simple way . Die in the most complex and repeat this process from the beginning of time”

        • Edward Wokhands

Yeah, that’s what I mean. I wouldn’t say it was generic though, it’s ambient. It’s trying to stay out of the way because the visuals are so realistic. Notice during the deja vu mission, when they MGS1 music plays it feels strange. That music was designed to play over cartoony visuals. When I say “theme” I mean “theme tune” like the Superman theme tune or the Star Wars theme tune. MGS 1,2,3 and 4 had composed “theme tunes” didn’t they? GZ doesn’t have one. I don’t think TPP will either. It will clash massively with the realistic setting which is why Kojima is using real songs in the trailers in my opinion.

I said it in another comment but this MGS can probably be compared to Breaking Bad or The Sopranos. They don’t need a soundtrack and when they do they use real world music or they use VERY subtle background music that doesn’t stick in your head the way the Superman or Indiana Jones or Back To The Future theme would.

If you look at older “realistic” movies they feel terrible. They feel like a spectacle and part of the reason is the music. They didn’t know how to subtly use an orchestra yet. So they just played massive, brash classical pieces over realistic scenes. It gives it a certain “feel”. TPP is the complete opposite of that. It’s a gritty, dark setting. So I’ll say again, it won’t have a theme. 😛

(Again, it might have a real song but not a DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN MGS1 style theme. Sorry for the rant.)

          • Kol Leqejza

            minus MGS 4 & u are right 😉

          • Edward Wokhands

Well……… we’ll have to agree to disagree on that. :p That guitar theme is amazing. And that intro movie where he’s sitting in the truck. The music that plays over that is incredible.

          • Kol Leqejza

IT IS. but mgs 4 is a bit less cartoony tha the MGS before. it is evenrecommended by the staff, to play w/o the music.

          • Edward Wokhands

:O cool! I was thinking that it is quite realistic but little details like the robot push it over the “anime” edge for me. It’s interesting that the staff say to play without music. Kind of bolsters my point about realism and music. :p *eternal patting of own back*

Do you have a link to where they say that? I’m making music for an indie game at the moment so any and all info would be appreciated.

          • Kol Leqejza

u can see it in the making of metal gear solid 4 – guns of the patriots blu-ray; or on youtube 😉
kojima first envisioned MGS 4 w/o having music @ all im the gameplay segments, to feel more realistic, closer to war. the sound engineer still recommends to play it w/o music at least once. but i don’t know… it’s SOOO good! 🙂 could never play without it.

          • Edward Wokhands

That’s so cool. I’ll see if I can find that. That explains the lack of “traditional” music in GZ and probably TPP too. The music is really ambient or it’s from the real world. I’m going to play through all MGS games again so when I get to 4 I’ll try it without the music. Thanks for making me aware of that.

          • Kol Leqejza

np, bro! 🙂 i really dig GZ’s soundtrack, too. END CREDITS O.O

        • Gatsu

Hell yeah that GZ ending song kicks ass, so awesome every time I hear it :)!

      • PsychoMantis18

        You’re talking crazy talk

        • Edward Wokhands

LOL! I mean a “theme tune”. All the previous MGS games had theme tunes. GZ didn’t. It used real world music. Just read a few of my other comments because when it comes to music I babble. I’m composing an indie game soundtrack right now. Then again that probably makes me arrogant. But going on GZ I don’t think TPP’s music will be anything like all the previous MGS games. Because they had more stylized visuals and a little more in your face humor in how things were presented, stuff like remote controlled cute robots, they needed a more apparent soundtrack. TPP won’t need that. the visuals and characters will do most of the emotional “speaking”.

Sticking a traditional orchestral MGS tune over that would make things cluttered unless it was done in a perfect and minimalistic way.

          • PsychoMantis18

I say this as someone who loves art and does not mean to offend: you are coming across as pretentious and very ignorant. It’s great that you’re excited but you’re making many presumptions and showing a great lack of understanding when it comes to the infinite shape and scope of art. You are also simplifying many theatrical elements. There is no strict formula to art. As someone who has played previous MGS’s, i’m sure you’re aware of Kojima’s passionate dedication to progressive art; expect the unexpected.

          • Edward Wokhands

The soundtrack list has been released. It’s full of real world songs. Sorry if I come across as pretentious and ignorant, I was just going on what was done in Ground Zeroes and what we heard in the gameplay demos. GZ is part of TPP.

Someone else on here has made me aware of the fact that Kojima actually wanted no music at all in MGS4 during gameplay because of how realistic the game was. This game is even more realistic. It will have themes but I don’t think they’ll stand out, they’ll be ambient and subtle. I know I’m probably wrong and I did point out that it makes me arrogant. Then again I’m not dictating what it will be, I’m making a prediction based on how I’ve analyzed the game. I’m a musician and a composer so I get excited about this stuff and have an understanding of it to a certain extent although I’m nowhere near the MGS composers. I’m not sure how else I’m supposed to share my expectations? What made me pretentious and ignorant do you think?

I’ll change how I present myself in future because I really don’t want to come across as pretentious. It makes me sick when other people do it.

          • PsychoMantis18

            It’s all good

          • Edward Wokhands

By the way… surely me saying that the music will be nothing like all the other games is expecting the unexpected? Unless expecting the unexpected is them doing the same thing as the previous games again? Even though all we’ve heard about this game is how different it is to the point where they think a lot of fans might be turned off?

Weird how writing text can make you seem one way when you’re trying to be the other.

      • raiden

i thought sins of the father was supposed to be the main theme? its good and epic enough. and the lyrics really represents how Big Boss’s actions lead to future events like Outer Heaven and zanzibar land

        • Edward Wokhands

Exactly! I should clarify, by “traditional” I mean like the other MGS games. They all had “themes”. Composed themes that play over the intro and at the game over screen and that kind of thing. GZ has NONE of that because it’s taking a realistic approach. The background music is non-invasive. You wouldn’t know it was there until it was gone.

When you take a realistic approach to something an orchestra can make things feel really strange unless it’s done absolutely perfectly. That’s why most “gritty” movies don’t have orchestral soundtracks in the way movies like Indiana Jones had a “theme tune”. They use diegetic source, like Chico’s walkman. That’s GZ’s “theme” to me, that intro tune playing over Skull Face’s drive to the chopper.

          • raiden

yep, i see what u mean. like Peace Walker’s Heaven’s Divide And Snake Eater’s Snake eater lol. and like 007 movies with those opening theme song ^^

      • flying_fox

I have always considered “Escape with Paz” as the main theme of GZ. To me, it’s one of the finest tracks in recent MGS memory.

I don’t find Forssell’s style generic, on the contrary. He clearly sought to make his own, original compositions… And well, yes, they’re different from Gregson-Williams’s style.

As seen in TPP gameplay demos / cutscenes, Forssell also has much potential for very discreet but VERY powerful themes: the “Quiet but Silent” and “DD” cutscenes, the opening cutscene in Afghanistan, etc.

“Main theme” or not, he really seems to have done a great job.

        • Edward Wokhands

Don’t take it the wrong way. I’m in NO way saying a bad job has been done. An amazing and appropriate job has been done. That’s all I’m saying. It’s just a massively different style to previous games. I guess I’m just saying that it’s way more ambient than previous games which is why none of the music sticks out. If I listened to the soundtrack on it’s own or sat in the game purposefully listening to it then yeah I’m sure I’d grow to love it. But the music in previous games jumps out WAY WAY more.

But in no way at all is it bad, it’s amazing. Again, it fits perfectly with the style of the game and the emotions uncle Koji wants to convey.

I’m gonna go play some GZ now, you’ve put me in the mood! Time for another 80 hours before Sep 1st.

…actually, all the people working on the game have said they’re interested in fan opinion because of how different it is from every other game. It really does have a western (sorry to keep repeating the same point) Breaking Bad/Sopranos feel. It feels like a modern Hollywood TV show. There’s a background ambiguity that makes the player uneasy that existed in The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. A feeling of constant mystery, like something really bad could happen at any moment. Almost as if a flying whale might appear on the horizon shooting fire from it’s blowhole.

Weird how people thought I was saying the soundtrack is/will be bad because I said it won’t have a traditional theme.

    • Sly

This is it but don’t know if its official tho I think I heard it during TGS 2014
      https://youtu.be/v4YKl7Bu9gM

      • is not official, it was made by the dude who made the soundtrack for a MGS fan film I don’t remember if it was Moder gear warfare or MGS: Philantophy… is a shame that melodie is not the main theme

        • Sly

Shame…thought it might have came with a japan special edition or something.

      • Batzi

That’s fan made. The main theme should have a heroic feel to it.

        Like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiPon8lr48U

        • Sly

Not like they are gonna risk using alot of the melody from the old theme which is why they came up with the Peace Walker theme. I Really like the Zero Allies/Backstory theme tho.

          https://youtu.be/Mr0mGwQfRz4

        • Gatsu

This song still gives me such amazing feels, 2:41 –> ftw ^_^!

          • Batzi

I wish it was in V.

    • Plissken

I thought it would be some variation of the Peace Walker theme, like what was in Ground Zeroes. Also, is the Peace Walker theme just “Father and Son” from MGS4, but just sped up and more action oriented?

    • Kol Leqejza

don’t u remember that inceptionesque song from GZ?

  • Ninja_Se7eN

Guess I’ll have to pick this up eventually.

  • PrinceHeir

Nice! I already a source that will be uploading this. So if anyone wants it, you know who to message.

Of course i’ll also buy this as well ^^

    • Batzi

I will definitely buy it but most likely digital. If the OST has an awesome boxart, I will probably buy that too.

    • Gatsu

LOL that gif, but yeah samples would be sweet.

  • People talking about MGS main theme… just a little refresher Tappy theme used to be on every metal gear game until its MPO removal (Show time was the main theme but got 3 minutes removed)
But every MGS had 2 Main themes, one orchestral and one vocal
    MGS1:
Metal Gear Solid Main Theme By TAPPY
The Best Is Yet To Come
    MGS2:
Metal Gear Solid Main Theme: Original By TAPPY Re Arranged By Harry Gregson Williams
    Can’t Say Goodbye to Yesterday
    MGS3:
Metal Gear Solid Main Theme (MGS3 Ver.) By TAPPY Re Arranged By Harry Gregson Williams
    Snake Eater
    MPO:
SHowtime (formerly know as Metal Gear Solid Main Theme (MPO Ver.)
    Calling To The Night
    MGS4:
Old Snake (Metal Gear Saga was just the credits theme, the las part was used in a couple of cinematics near the end and an unreleased version played during the wedding scene, Old Snake Theme played trough the game and is also the 1st track on the disc)
    Love Theme
    MPW:
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Main Theme
    Heavens Divide
    MGZ:
that foooshhh tuf tuf tuf thing by Ludwig Forsell
Here’s To You (Licensed… but more like credits theme)
    MGSV:
mor fuuushh fushh things I bet
    Father’s SIns

I really miss old TAPPY theme, it was only removed because off an imaginary lawsuit that never happened
also the fact that since MGS3 we don’t have “stage music” only when in alert phase makes the games pretty silent… also MGS4, MPW and MGSV alert theme sounds pretty generic since Hibino left Konami
at least I have my metal gear acid 1 OST that sounds like a classic MGS game specially the “11 Control Office” theme

    • Melyssa

“That fooosh tuf tuf tuf thing”…. LOOOOOOL!!!

  • Mini gear

I might be going to far :p The hype never dies [no special edition games shown on display yet]

    • Gatsu

That’s awesome :), don’t worry Mini you’re not going too far yet. If you replace your arm with a bionic one, then I’m starting to get worried D: …

Btw that PS4 look so cool ;).

  • Xomak

Love this theme from Ground Zeroes. I hope it makes it onto the TPP soundtrack in some form! Or give us a Ground Zeroes OST! I wonder if there’ll be a single release for “Sins of the Father”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=494uunKrvLQ

    • Melyssa

I’ve been told that this is actually fanmade, and I’ve been too busy/lazy to check it myself.

Fanmade or nor, I LOVE this. I hope we get some similar themes in TPP.

      • Xomak

It’s legit, triggered when you engage in enemy combat during the second half of the Ground Zeroes mission where you’re extracting Paz. Actually, I believe it becomes the combat theme when you’re extracting your second target (be it Paz or Chico, depending on who you decided to extract first). I’ll have to play GZ again to confirm that. But I know for sure it’s the combat theme if extracting Paz is your final objective.

This is definitely the theme of GZ for me! I recall them actually playing this track during one of the episodes of the english Kojima Station.

        • Kol Leqejza

THiS! i remeber ludwig forsell saying in sn interview that this IS THE THEME! he said something about that the whole story & upcoming events were isolated in this track. i always let me get caught, when i’m rescuing paz. that track is plain great!

      • FOX

it does play after rescuing paz

        • Melyssa

So it’s not a fanmade version? It’s the original one? Sweet!

          • FOX

            Yup 😉

    • Gatsu

My favorite too, I love this very much :). Can’t wait to hear the epic tracks from TPP :D!

  • Melyssa

Please, please, pleasepleaseplease give us a digital version too!

    • WhatTheJuicay

Why beg though? CDs are the easiest and most legal form of entertainment to rip and play anywhere you want. You can make it digital on your own in less than 10min. Also enjoy the booklet while you rip it.

  • The track titles would give away too much of the story & possible spoilers. They plan on keeping it hush hush until the game is released so do not expect any more info.

  • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Su confirmed e3 2015 on twitter.said that preparation for the event was killing her.might just be related to Bristol unfortunately.what do you think metal gear fans + su said Mgsv will surprise you.david hayter maybe!

    • You got a link bruh?

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

I’m on my ipad.dont know how to copy and paste.go on her twitter page .you know who is su at least?

        • Yeah Playboy, lemme look into this mess.

        • Gatsu

Yeah copy & pasteing on tablet is a pain the the ass. Took me a while to notice how to do it lol.

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

think must look for it on youtube.thanks to you mate i know copy and paste is possible.

  • Romain Robin

Awwww yes, I’ve been.. Waiting for this ! srsly, I’m so glad they are releasing the full soundtrack.
Although I won’t check it before the game releases as the track titles may contain story spoilers and I wan’t to discover the songs/tracks in their real environment.

  • Le Guy who drowned quiet

hum nyxus will you post interesting news about the new Opm issue of MGsv.why were
people excited when news about the hospital scene ways revealed.didn’t bother me.

    • Ravenous

Opm what? Opm as in Official Playstation Magazine?
If so, yeah, a post of any interesting parts would be nice if there are any news 🙂

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

apparently it will reveal quirky secrets about the cardboard box.

  • FOX

Anybody remembers this from peace walker? Kojima says hi to TPP with V 🙂

  • Shalashaska

Any chance they’ll release the game earlier or give us SOMETHING? ANYTHING? GIVE US A DEMO! I AM DYYINGGG!

    http://33.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz32dbXK6f1qdr5i8.gif

    • Gatsu

Hang in there bro, just a little longer ;)…

  • Le Guy who drowned quiet

oxm also has a mgsv preview.DUDE!

  • Snake

    wow!! :O Snake (Bionic Arm)

  • prothy
  • Gatsu

It’s great to finally know they’re releasing OST, I’ll definitely buy it :D. It will surely be full of epic songs!

  • Gatsu

When we get the next TPP preview impressions, I hope there won’t be much spoilers because there’s no way I can ignore stuff related to TPP ;)… I know they can’t talk about the story, but still never know what someone gonna post about the magnificent game.

I’ll probably forget about some of them during these 3 months, but some heavy spoiler I won’t.

    • Mr.Pony

All we need is some more

      • Gatsu

        Them previews + E3…sooo much hype .

But as you just said, something is missing!!! Need CHOPPAAAA!
        http://i0.wp.com/www.metalgearinformer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/MGSV-Chopper-DD.jpg

        • Mr.Pony

Can’t wait to see more of TPP in E3 but at the same time I really don’t xD. I would love a new trailer but since TPP has this kind of episodic structure i don’t want to see much of gameplay in fear it may be more easy to spoil story content.

        • WrongDirectionZ

Cant wait for the embargo to lift next week ^^ There will be a shitload of informations for us, so get prepared 😀 I just hope they will keep everything spoilerfree as much as possible. Everytime i try to force myself to stop watching for new metal gear related info, but MG got me at my balls…. HYPE

          • Mini gear

Volgin must be at the helm at MG then

    • ObsessedGeorge

What l did with the Witcher 3 is that l never watched a lot of videos, nor did l search for stuff about it, and l’m enjoying it to the full right now. I’m afraid l can’t ignore TPP like the Witcher. Of course we will get many of the surprizes ruined even small little gameplay ones.

      • Gatsu

Yeah I don’t always follow news etc with every game, but TPP is different ;). Not sure will they really ruin many surprises as the game is going to be huge, so lot of content that won’t be mentioned in the previews.

I will remember TPP gameplay/story best after playing and experiencing it, reading some of the preview posts I will definitely forget during 3 months. Not saying I got bad memory lol, but it’s how I think it’ll go for me.

P.S. need to go play Witcher 3, but I can’t get out of MGI because too addicting :O …

        • ObsessedGeorge

Are you on PS4 brother? If yes, add me “ObsessedGeorge”. If anyone else wants to, feel free to add me. Just say you’re a DD comrade! 😀

          • Gatsu

Sure thing brother :), I’m B1g_Boss88 . I’ll send request when turn it on next time :].

  • Mini gear

I hope the main metal gear theme is somewhere in tpp [ nananaaaaa nanananaaa nananaaaa nananananaaaa nananaaaaa nananaaanaaaa nananaaaa nanananannaaaaaaaaa

    • Mr.Pony

      BATMAN!

  • Cipher

From Harry Gregson-Williams , he made epic OSTs for the franchise.
MGS4 had the best soundtracks I heard in game

  • Boldizar

At least they are getting it right this time around. Hopefully they do not post the track list like with MGS4 either.

  • Gatsu

I hope TPP includes few more of the older songs from MG1 and MG2, maybe some remixes of them. Like GZ had Theme of Tara. I’m okey with only new songs too, but still it’d be nice to hear some imo :)…

    I love this remix.

    • ObsessedGeorge

Oh man, that song is amazing, l love metal, and l love MGS! This song is perfection!

    • PrinceHeir

      Custom OST my friend 🙂

I just hope PS4 includes it since it can play MP3 through USB.

      • Gatsu

Yeah I know what you mean Prince-chan :). I’ll be first playing through TPP with default songs and later maybe try adding my own ones ^-^.

        • PrinceHeir

I’ve been noticing you’ve been playing The Witcher 3 everytime i see you online XD

Sorry for not replying too much on PSN. My brother usual plays it with Bloodborne and now he’s playing Dark Souls II.

Once MGSV comes out, we should play together sometime ^^

          • Gatsu

I’ve been trying to play it couple hours a day after work, but sometimes busy or too tired lol. Feels like it will take more forever to finish the game at this rate haha, but it’s ok as Witcher 3 keeps my mind off TPP waiting :).

Sry for not replying much either if I’m playing a game, and other reason is because I’m sometimes so lazy :P.

I’m once in a while playing with friends or little brother too so no problem 🙂 and sure when MGSV we can play :D. Also bought a headset for it if necessary XD …

          • Gatsu

Btw Prince, did you hear about this :)?
            http://www.polygon.com/2015/5/26/8659243/resident-evil-0-remaster-capcom
            http://images.eurogamer.net/2013/articles/1/7/5/6/9/8/1/-1432625567848.jpg

I’m really excited for this, as I have never played Zero before. Will be
nice to play as Rebecca <3. Truly enjoyed the RE1 remaster too.

          • PrinceHeir

            Yes do enjoy RE0!!

Even though the item management were a little clunky, this still a great game and the atmosphere is just as good as RE1 REmaster 🙂

I really do hope they do physical for PS4 this time around(only PS3 was available)

        • Mini gear

I’ll never have time, not gonna stop playing, I hope tpp has tons of songs ^_^

    • Boldizar

When did GZ have Theme of Tara?

      • Mini gear

In s cave during flashback mission

  • Tong Ninja

    Fallout 4 trailer is out!

Does anyone else think that the narrator’s voiceover sounds a little bit like Kiefer Sutherland??

    • Gatsu

OMG?! What the hell?? Out already :O, but it’s not E3 yet!!!
Oh well…in Ocelot’s voice: I’ve been waiting for this!

That was awesome XD and my wallet is ready! Maybe we see some gameplay in E3, as I remember some rumor little while ago which said that.
P.S. I guess it sounded a bit like Kiefer, in the past it was Ron Perlman.

Gonna feel so awesome to travel through them wastelands with Dogmeat, killing mutants and lunatics while listening to some good old music :D.

      • Tong Ninja

On second thoughts, i don’t think its Kiefer. Must of been my dodgy headphones… I heard it on speakers and it sounds like someone else haha.

  • Javier

    I read contains 2 dlcs

  • Sn4ke_911

    HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!

    • Jason Mounce

“Xbox One’s Most Ambitions Game” – …. This sounds wrong…. Makes it sound like it’s a Microsoft Project or that it’s a First-party game for them or an Exclusive… It’s KOJIMA’S most ambitious game, how the fuck is it Xbox’s most ambition? Makes no sense to me.

      • No Place For Hayter

Exactly what I was about to say, the wording is totally off, it makes it sound like an XBOX game more than anything. While the wording is technically correct it is still obviously tilted towards making it sound like an XBOX ONE and Microsoft exclusive so people don’t even think about it on another console.

        • Jason Mounce

Even though PS4 is the lead platform and will actually be running at a better quality than the Xbox One but oh well. Most ambition on the platform that’ll likely run 900p! Apparently? 😛

          • FOX

720P but fox engine does a great job even on previous gen

          • Jason Mounce

XD Oh jeez. Forgot it was that bad. Wonder if Phantom Pain will remain 720p or if the extra polish will make it 900p. Feel bad for em.

          • FOX

it’s really shame that is 720p just like old gen consoles but 60fps.TPP is much bigger with a same engine so i doubt it.But yeah they have to do something better, just not 720P, lol

      • invader_skoodge

Yeah, the wording on that just makes it seem like a desperate attempt to make their Console shine with a multi-platform game. Which is crazy because I think they should be pushing exclusives like Playstation is doing with Uncharted4. “Xbox One’s Most Ambitious Game” is less of a compliment and more of a F U to the first party developers, and tells costumers that they have mediocre games. I agree, they should have used “Kojima’s Most Ambitious Game” or even….”Konami’s(eww) Most Ambitious Game”……yuck…

        • Jason Mounce

After having to use those words at the end of your post, ensure to brush your teeth thoroughly and use mouth wash!

          • YOURSTRULY

uhmmm maybe they are over using it dont know

      • Sly

        Sony does the same thing

        • Jason Mounce

Not as often, or embarassingly and when they do, it’s mostly funny

    • Venom_Snake_BB

Wait if this artwork made by Kojima’s productions? Metal Gear…

  • quintimnia

Did they just spoil the new metal gear? …

(beware, even its just a magazine cover)

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CGm3ZVBWoAArQ33.jpg:large

i’ll probably cut my internet ’till the game comes out. this is the thing im disgusted most.

    • is a nice “fan art” I think… but is not like MG Rex, Ray, etc where exposed heavily on promo art before the games actually got released.. we actually looked at the thing before on last year’s trailer

  • Talking Abut soundtracks and TAPPY’s did you know Norihiko Hibino left a sample for a MGS theme that sounded like the classic one without using the complete “Sviridov” notes? is the theme that plays at the end of MGS2 in piano and he elevated it on the 20th anniversary album… and a few moments before the Melodie finishes it appears again

    https://youtu.be/EHYUnenUPQU?t=1m19s
(Imagine this theme replacing MGSaga in MGS4 or MPW thene still has that MGS feel but it “won’t piss off the russians “that have the rights to the original song” that doesn’t exist or care)

KojiPro only used half of it twice in MPO, only one got relesed as the track “revelations” then they reused the whole MGS2 piano version for MGS4 during “Raiden’s Sacrifice” (when arsenal rolls over him) (also 20th anniv version is present in snake’s ipod without censorship and MGS4 version is on the 25th anniversary album) they could have used that theme on MGR every time Raiden reminizased about Rose but they wanted ALL-Brand New music with zero references to MGS score

  • Alberto Esparza

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYMCLz5PQVw I wanna hear this with if Major Zero appears in the game

    • No Place For Hayter

One of the few songs which rings heavily with MGS, specifically Zero, or should I say Major Tom 🙂

  • ddmaster

Will anyone be posting on the Official Playstation Magazine UK’s June 2015 issue about their 16 page gameplay impression article? Comes out this Friday June 5th.

    • No Place For Hayter

Nyxus will probably be posting all the details and news of said gameplay impression. After all it is definitely important MGS news 🙂

      • ddmaster

Honestly I wish there was a place I could download the pdf for free…fingers crossed. Rather not spend $20 for one issue.

  • projectd

so when it would be available for pre order? digital on the ps4

  • invader_skoodge

OMG I think I’m in love. This girl gets the look of Ciri just right. One of the best things to come out of the amazing game The Witcher 3 has been awesome cosplay. Just imagine the amount of cosplay coming out of TPP. we’ve only seen a handful of characters, but when the game comes out and we see the whole cast I bet there will be more amazing cosplay.

    • Edward Wokhands

I can’t wait. She doesn’t look like her face wise but that is a perfect cosplay. TW3 is pushing it’s way to the top of my favorite all time games. I honestly don’t understand how the hell they developed something not only that big but that deep too. Usually only linear games (well, The Witcher 2 and the MGS games and The Last Of Us) have that kind of DEEP story and detailed, unique, lovable characters. Somehow CDPR managed to do size, detail, story and characterization all at the same time. Also while making the nicest looking engine I’ve seen yet.

I can’t wait to see MGS5 now. A Kojima story in a massive world. Holy lordy.

  • Andrew Gordon

Can you upload your own music to mgs 5? The list of songs they gave was decent but a little soft. I need way more classic rock and metal, judas priest, dio, ozzy and motley crue come to mind first plus a lot of stuff from the late ’70’s. The is set in 1984 right?

  • Daburcor

Anybody seen any word on whether or not this will be available stateside?

  • Russell Travis

It was released. Enjoy the epic OST 😀
