  • What happens if this means we have to wait snake to heal unless… we use microtransactions to heal faster?

    Reply
    • Tong Ninja

Don’t think so haha, it would be like Peace Walker where upgrading your Medic Unit (eg. fultoning medics) will improve the speed of healing. 🙂

I think we better shut up about it haha, before Konami finds out and implements it into the game.

    • Also we’ll have to use micro-transactions in order to buy a prosthetic arm in the first place, plus micro-transaction to buy fuel for the chopper and pay the water bill to have water on MB showers

      • WhatTheJuicay

Ugh these micro transaction jokes are getting a bit tired and irritating. You guys are starting to sound like the GTAV fans. CASH CERDS!!

Microtransactions are not ruining the game and taking over every aspect.

        • Yes because embracing it arms open will do so well for the future of players

          • WhatTheJuicay

Not acknowledging it at all isn’t the same as embracing it. Just enjoy the game and ignore the business. Your fears are not going to come true. The game is not about micro transactions.

          • cardboardbox engineer

you are one of those people who want to get married and later on feeling horrible about it because you love the intercourse but cannot keep up with the nagging, ……
when business and game as you put it are tied together then it will come between your satisfaction of the product,

          • …Yep, well said. Totally the same situation.

            *thumbs up*

          • WhatTheJuicay

You’re right about me being that type of person. Still don’t see the connection with how I feel about people making up the same tired jokes about micro transactions that are so untrue. The way it’s implemented in gtav and how they presume it’s implemented in mgsv is in no way how the fans make it out to be. People who complain should just boycott the game like they were planning to and stop crying.

          • No game will ever be all about micro-transaction (people would rather stop playing at all). It’s not about a single game it’s about a business. model. Picture this:

A company introduces micro-transactions in a franchise with a bare minimum of backlash (10-15% of gamers). Since this aspect is both profitable and well seen by player, this company pushes this transactions on other franchises, (also other companies do it too, that is about where we are now). But since this backlash is so low micro-transactions strart to be a more and more important aspect of the game, no game will never use this a core element but it is there and at this point it’s rather harmless. until one company pushes it into a medium size aspect of a game and again since the backlash is low more and more companies adopt such policy. It may or may not evolve into a “snowball effect” and affect more important core aspects of a game or it will go something about the lines “Micro-transaction only available after DLC purchase”.

If micro-transactions are not seen as a bad thing, if they receive minimum importance it will be pushed and pushed further into games just like the DLC model where in order to experience the full/understandable game you have to make investment repeatdly

    • No Place For Hayter

When I make my cover for the game, the game logo will only be the “The Phantom Pain – Tactical Espionage Operations” portion, I feel that Kojima is really trying to pull away from the MGS series as it is his phantom pain, and it always fades away in the trailers so I’m going to have the MGS faded away in my cover.

Just tell me when and where I can get both the full soundtrack and full artbook in North America.

I wonder though is the 2 disc soundtrack the full soundtrack? GZ has a ton of music and it is tiny, if both parts of MGSV are combined how large is the soundtrack, lol, don’t get me wrong a large two disc soundtrack is an amazing thing we no longer see anymore but I’m just curios if it is the full thing.

I have a question I have been thinking about lately regarding the future of this site. You will more than cover all the details and news coming out regarding MG after TPP releases but what happens to our home away from home AFTER that dies down? Will you just continue to cover the metal gear news/games that Konami releases?

I just have a feeling that right now….this is not only a special time for mgs fans but this site as well.

Something like: “What’s your favorite moment from the trailer?” or “Who’s more badass, Solid Snake or Big Boss?” or “What’s the best Metal Gear (Ray, Rex, etc)”

More polls would make this site even more fun.

        • Best of all it seems that beating the bosses does not mean the death of them, making it harder for BB. Instead of fighting is way through, he just trie to survive and escape the bosses, it is more believable i think (at least i would run from a fire unicorn rider)

Might just be a bunch of junk thrown together by Psycho Mantis kid, a preview person mentioned this scene and it included Psycho Mantis kid and Skull Face.

      • there are all those soldiers acting up like zombies (Meryl in MGS1 or the one in MGS4 where you had the dolls) so it might be the Psychomantis redhead guy

There is something up with that arm, lol, foggy mystery. The arm looks like a complete functioning arm of something larger, but it looks old and made of stone, and the fog hides anything that could be attached to it so the arm kind of looks like it isn’t attached to anything.

          Reply
          • I thought of stone too, maybe a hidden boss either but the scene seems to take place where Quiet and BB crash the helicopter and with all the zombies (an ambush?) so there plenty of metal to go around

          • scarecrow

Perhaps i’m hallucinating with all the hype that affected my body but if you ask me, it looks like a giant version of BB prosthetic arm :/

    • Tong Ninja

From some deduction, this might be the scene where Big Boss is hanging upside down and then Skull Face meets him face to face. 🙂

Anyone else think Paz may have been cloned?

    Reply
    • No Place For Hayter

My first thought, only one that makes complete sense, the only other choice is a hallucination, but if she was one she would be WAY different and haunting, so she’s a clone 🙂

      Reply
      • yeah it could be a clone… but since the trailer i’ve been wondering about that and other posibilities, the only problem i find is that a clone wouldn’t have the same cut on the belly with stitches all over it /:

        Reply
        • No Place For Hayter

That cut looks like tricky editing, is that really her stomach? and if it is then someone put it there for the specific purpose of having the same scar as before.

          Reply
          • yeah it could be a tricky cut, the only thing i’m sure of is that from a technical point of view it is the same scar, if you compare it to the one from GZ even the blood drips on the same spots, i guess that the team wouldn’t use the same assets on other bodies… but anyway, it might even be an hallucination XD (i’ve been using that word so much lately that i feel it will become the new “nanomachines” after TPP XD)

          • No Place For Hayter

Yeah but at least hallucinations play into the story and its themes, and adds mystery and metaphorical aspects to everything, where as nano-machines was simply an excuse to do certain things with no greater need or meaning than for things that did not not excuses.

          • i completely agree man, i meant that more in the way that it reminds me of all the nanomachines memes that came over the years

        • SpiderJerusalem

I was thinking the same thing, my theory is that they clone her to learn the location of Zero.

          Reply
    • But why? A clone will not know what Paz knew. I guess it’s possible, but I don’t see the point. Unless it’s for Chico if he survived

      Reply
    • Ravenous

Yes…and I’m also starting to wonder if Paz was a clone of someone too, Kaz is talking to Zero in PW, and lets us know that Les Infants Terible was a success, but what’s going to stop Kojima from making Paz an earlier clone of The Boss for instance?

I know it doesn’t make that much sense, but it’s the only reason I could think of for Zero to make a clone of Paz Oo

The V-shaped scar doesn’t make sense to me though, unless it’s a flashback-y hallucination for BB

      So many questions XD

      Reply
      • the person with the scar is not paz, it just looks like they are the same person because it cuts to paz right after showing it, its just a corpse I think

The V Shaped scar is not shown on the same person we see that looks like paz, the shoot is cut between those 2, so is tricky camerawork!
