  • PACOVELI

Just made it to chapter 2
Cant w8 for metal gear online!

  • Good thing YouTube streaming isn’t available in my country. Hooray Germany

    • CR7HarisSnake

      Same here

  • grapes9h5

Fingers-crossed, we get an announcement of Kingdom of the Flies DLC, and it contains not only mission 51, but probably two or three other cut story missions alluded to by the trailers over the years. Won’t come out for months, but just an announcement would quell my fears.

    • Plissken

I’ve been hearing a lot about cut content from the game, stuff that was integral to the story and left unanswered. Making that content available for download would be awesome, but might be unlikely. I’m sure IF Hideo made another Metal Gear, he could include it.

  • Ardens Anima

At least we have one last MG thing to look forward to.

    • It can’t end like this, they have to heal this phantom pain

      • asdasdfd

A lot of people feel like you.

        • I’m sure we are supposed to feel this way

    • AeroGre

Well konami has stated already that there’ll be more metal gear games, just no Kojima

  • FOX

Just saved emmerich, played 30+ hours, take my time slowly, the honey bee mission took me 3 hours ๐Ÿ™‚ so much fun!

    • Ishmael

you’re doing it right. Take it slow and enjoy the ride.

      • FOX

Yeah i do,thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ i feel like i will play this game years. So much content

  • Venom_Sina

Hey guys,a simple question:What is your favorite track in MGSV OST?For me it’s “V Has Come To” by Harry Gregson Williams. What is your favorite track?
BTW,did you notice that some tracks from Ground Zeroes are not in the album?Like the one when you rescue Paz,or the one that plays in the Backstory menu. This is really weird.

    • Apart from Sins Of The Father and Quiet’s Theme i like Bloodstained Anthem

    • gerber

Ride a white horse. When I heard it playing in the cell, I fell in love

      • Gatsu

Oh maan Ride A White Horse is AMAZING, I love to listen it all the time so relaxing ;).

Also another great song I like, was it named “Take The D.W.” or something like that. It’s nice to find such gems amongst the songs ;).

I think the OST has some really amazing songs, but it’s hard for me to remember some of them while sneaking or combating enemies. Theme songs are part of my favorite collection of course.

    • Ishmael

V has come to is my favorite too, but it’s stated to by written by Ludwig Forsell, not HGW, just sayin’

    • Tong Ninja

So far ” V has come to”. ๐Ÿ˜€
      Such an emotional track! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • stocchinet .

I like Nitrogen a lot, for the retro synth vibe, is i’m that kind of guy

  • MK_Madness

Everybody go to your medical platform on motherbase and get in the hospital for something mind blowing!!

    • AeroGre

Can you tell me what it is?

      • MK_Madness

Go see it for yourself, it’s way better so.

        • AeroGre

If its the thing on the medical base at the door with the blue light then Ive already seen it, just wondering if it could be anything else

          • MK_Madness

You saw someone and gave pictures to that someone?

          • AeroGre

            Yep finished that lol

  • Just emptied entire clips on the ground rather than directly completing the really most psychologically painful mission which gave me a real poor accuracy (24% or so, would be worth to check what happens if short on ammo coz I did not want to use a single bullet…) on this specific and rich on emotions one (I am sure some will guess which one)… I am not done, it is so awesome.

  • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Hey guys i came back from the dead. After 130hs i’ve Experienced one of the best game of my life

Welcome back comrade ๐Ÿ™‚ and glad you liked it too!

Yeah some of research was true after all :D.

  • Mr. Sir Shpee

    FINALLY. YES.

After over nine months, new gameplay is finally here. Can’t wait to see it!

Also, crossing my fingers for stuff to go down tonight in less than three hours.

    • AeroGre

      nine months?

      • Mr. Sir Shpee

        I’m afraid it’s been… NINE MONTHS.

Yes. The only time MGO3 gameplay has ever been shown was on December 5th, 2014 at The Game Awards.

        • AeroGre

          Oh youre right lol

  • AeroGre

I got a cool new jacket lol

    http://oi57.tinypic.com/3c1he.jpg

    • MichaelPayneV

      So now you understand!

      • AeroGre

Yep lol, and I get to keep my sniper wolf so all good

    • The Reaver

I’m too early in the game to tell… is that jacket actually obtainable or is that just a mod?

      • No Place For Hayter

        It is obtainable ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • The Reaver

Yeaaah! I’m gonna play as biker Snake!

          • GrayFoxWasTaken

so I get to use quiet after I beat the game!? FUCK YES

          • AeroGre

Umm Ill have to hide my response to you on this

It depends, once Quiet’s story is finished and she leaves Diamond Dogs thats it, you cant get her back. What I did is I used the butterfly emblem and as long as you keep that on, Quiets final missions wont ever be triggered and you can go on and still get the truth ending, but you gotta keep the emblem on before you start mission 43, only downside is 1. you cant ever get 100% and 2. You have to keep the butterfly emblem, cant ever change it for as long as you want to keep her

      • AeroGre

Obtainable once you beat the game, Im on PS4 so no mods lol

  • vic boss

So if I understand correctly (and idk if this is an SPOILER) but after whatever happens with quiet , we cannot use her anymore after mission 43 or 44 ?

    • AeroGre

You need to equip the butterfly on your emblem before mission 43 if you dont want to activate her ending, which is mission 45 and sideop 150. you can still unlock the true ending even if you choose to lock her ending missions using the butterfly

      • vic boss

How do I get the butterfly emblem ?

        • AeroGre

You need to let Quiet get more kills than you over the course of 3 missions, also at some point during the missions get spotted at least once, heroes way c2w are easiest cause theyre pretty small outposts

          • vic boss

Does it have to be kills? Or can she just tranq them?

          • AeroGre

Either one is fine, but dont forget you also need to get spotted at least once per mission or else itll give you Fox instead of Butterfly

  • Javier

This is the first time I’m letting a game running while I’m doing other things just to pass time to develop the f*cking things.

When I want to listen tapes I use to go to mb because in the helicopter the ps4 is like burning alive. But while I’m reading the subtitles of the tape, it could disappear and be replaced with subtitles of soldiers talking near me.

  • MichaelPayneV

34 minutes left to see what the hell is Blackhound!

    • solidsnack

gooood. this whole thing is kinda annoying i don’t know how much more ruse we can handle!!!

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

The Pc version of Tpp was flawless my friend =) https://media3.giphy.com/media/yidUzHnBk32Um9aMMw/200_s.gif

Best PC port I’ve ever played <3.

        • Joaquin Romero Victorica

10,368 Steam positive reviews and counting . Guess kojima has Pc gamers in his hands now . Nothing cant’ Stop Hideo world order

      • MichaelPayneV

        Far from it!

  • hunner

7 minutes left until Blackhound. Probably a troll

It was not a smokescreen it’s written only the chosen can see the truth

      • ElAlca

So we can only keep on hoping… hoping for the illusion we call “Episode 51”

  • John Rhogan

Where can I find the background picture? Looks pretty sweet.

  • No Place For Hayter

Finally got my special edition today. My what I thought of it reverse from what I thought before. Before I got it I couldn’t care less about the bionic arm, instead I wanted the bonus blu-ray, when I got the collectors edition, I found out the bionic arm was amazing and that the bonus blu-ray was void of any real content and kind of sucks, lol.

    • AeroGre

      steelbook case though

      • No Place For Hayter

I hate steelbook cases, lol, so it is just as annoying as I thought it would be. If I were to talk about the whole thing, the packaging was awesome ๐Ÿ˜‰ really loved opening it up.

  • AeroGre

You know I hope they show off some more unique characters, we already know snake and Ocelot will be playable but I wanna know who else they’ll add, skullface? Quiet? idk

  • The game i was waiting for, a pity i have to wait till January ๐Ÿ™
I will buy the Steam controller only for this game.

It would be cool to have a game mode of 4 vs 4 vs 4 vs 4, squads.
Another mode people againts bosses or special characters (who are overpowered), for example, ALL VS Quiet, where one uses Quiet, and the rest try to beat her down.

Wondering what places we will play in the game.
Quiet’s place its cool, by the way.

31th mission completed and a great bunch of side ops – 52% of game done.
    Let’s continue with this ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Mr. Sir Shpee

Until I saw the new Steam controller, I hadn’t realized how good it would be for TPP. I always play with m/kb because the movement is good and the aiming is great, but controller lets you control your speed more. Best of both worlds (although not quite as accurate as a mouse). I’m glad you can bind stuff to buttons on the back of the controller. I’ll probably use that for MGO if I buy one.

  • Tong Ninja

So .. are there any 6 hour long missions in TPP?

So far the longest one I’ve played is 2 hours long. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • BurntFM

They are as long as you want them to be. There’s one mission that took me about 2 hours first time, and 5 minutes the second time around. I think you should look at it like the type of game that rewards creativity with your approach. It’s not about the length of the game but your mastery of it. I like games that challenge me to be proficient and truly master the game. My goal is to be like this guy.

      • No Place For Hayter

Wow, that was much darker than the entirety of TPP. Disturbing.

      • Tong Ninja

        That guy is insane! ๐Ÿ˜€
Yeah I’ve been pretty creative so far with TPP, using various methods to complete the mission. ๐Ÿ˜€

Kojima said last year, there might be a mission or 2 that will be 6 hours long. But maybe he changed his mind and didn’t put it in the final game. Which is fine with me! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Full_Options

What a perfect predator !! xD

    • No Place For Hayter

Nope, none are huge, the largest ones are usually filled with “TRAVEL ACROSS THIS WHOLE LANDSCAPE, when you really should just land closer to your objective or at least get a ride when you know where you are going” lol.

      • Tong Ninja

Ah okay. I don’t mind travelling far distances though. haha
Love collecting animals and plants on the way! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • BurntFM

Well. I just got the last of the memento photos and holly crap. The cutscene was amazing IMO in fact one of my favorite MGS moments right there. Also the last tape from that side story is great. I think it’s the most 4th wall breaking one in the game because I think it’s directed at us the players.

    • MichaelPayneV

Is actually believe it or not Directed to whoever will make the New Metal Gear Series, that’s what i got!

    • No Place For Hayter

LOVED that scene, really gave the closure the character and story arch needed. And to be honest I needed it too T_T

  • venom1984snake

Played the game from release to now with 120+ hours with 56% done. Just got done with Mission 31 and taking my time. I really like the story so far, surprised that there’s a mixed reaction amongst fans. So far I think its the most interesting story of the metal gear saga in terms of presentation and cutscenes. Plot goes straight to the point. As much as I love MGS 1-4, too many “powerpoint” presentations and codecs did break the flow of the cutscenes and gameplay. Peace walker is kind of similar to Phantom pain. I am aware of the secret ending and am honestly fine with it, its just different than what I expected. I’m just grateful that we’re able to play this game. Are we allowed to talk specific spoilers yet?

    • GrayFoxWasTaken

The last third is padded with repeated missions on harder challenge dificulties, and the ending that was cut and put on the blu ray needed to be in the final game. That being said, I love this game with all my soul and its my goty without a doubt… i just salivate when i imagine kojima having GTAVs 200 million dollar budget instead of his 80 million budget

      • venom1984snake

Yeah I just played mission 33 with the modified limits, it does seem like padding that could have gone to making new missions but still, with the feud and problems occuring during production, Kojima Productions probably still did their best. Cut ending is disappointing but hey, things happen and I’m just glad to be sitting here playing the game. Definitely one of my top favorite games and the best MGS game so far.

        • GrayFoxWasTaken

          I agree 100 percent

    • MichaelPayneV

I guess people are mad about it, just because. Spoiler (I know Gatsu, we have a thread, but i wanted to reply to this guy personaly, this is just an exception)

    • hunner

      No spoilers

      • venom1984snake

        Ok no problem.

    • venom1984snake

Sorry, still new at posting online so I didnt quite catch that cue.

    • No Place For Hayter

One big problem is the LACK of story and the unfinished state of the whole thing, and as for the ending for the game, I’m currently writing up my thoughts on TPP which includes every reason why the ending breaks everything and is dumb. My Interpretation.

    • Gatsu

Better talk spoilers over at MGI forums for now. It will be hard to control here if everyone starts talking about them. I made spoilers thread in MGI forums, link is above.

I am grateful too, but not everyone see it the same way. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • venom1984snake

Thanks man, I’ll discuss story over there!

  • moto hellogoto

Kojima ruined the game with the ending. I’m so pissed right now. I think i’ll just pretend this game didn’t happen.

    • No Place For Hayter

Don’t be pissed for to long, lol, nobody will take you seriously if you say you are, lol.

You could end up being one of those people whom love it years after no longer being pissed at it…….. I doubt it though, lol, I’m in the same boat about not liking it, still love the gameplay though, just wish it was better utilized with more variety.

      • moto hellogoto

Yeah the gameplay is great but I always loved MGS for the story. I’m one of those people who enjoyed the long cutscenes and dialogue. All the goofy codec calls included. And for Kojima to make THIS his last game. To give us a fucking medic to play as when we think we’re playing as the boss? This is 10 x worse than Raiden. Honestly this has changed my opinion about Kojima. I don’t think he’s the genius everyone thinks he is anymore.

But I’ll keep the game for the online. BUt as far as the story goes I’m done.

        • No Place For Hayter

Agreed, huge fan of long cutscenes and story.

I would edit those spoilers out of your comment though or at least give as spoiler warning there are those whom haven’t finished yet.

          • Gatsu

Same here, but we can thank those whiners after MGS4 for what we got.

          • solidsnack

ok guys we know our next target is the MGS4 whiners…. only.. for.. revenge… >:-) muaahahahaa

          • Gatsu

            ;D haha

          • Exactly this. When MGS4 came out, all everyone talked about was how it had far too many cutscenes, they were too long, they dragged on, etc. So this is what those people wanted, right? But at least now MGS4 can finally get the appreciation it deserves, at least.

          • Venom_Sina

But I loved those long cutscenes and Codec calls in MGS4.I didn’t have any objections!!!I think some MGS4 quality cutscenes could make TPP a better game.

          • Yeah, the cutscenes in MGS4 were awesome. But when so many complain, it’s no surprise Kojima thinks they are unwanted.

          • Datguy8923

MGS4 did have too many cutscenes and too many things just being “oh it’s just nanomachines”. I love MGS4, don’t get me wrong, but I far prefer the route Kojima took with MGS V in delivering his story. Not everything needs an explanation, and somethings are best left a mystery, leaving it up to you to decide what happened and why. The biggest issue with MGS4 was that I felt Kojima was forced to address everything in one go and it ended up with nanomachines being the cop out answer. I haven’t beaten MGS V yet, but all this talk about the ending being bad doesn’t fuss me, considering the story of metal gear does not end with V. It’s incredibly hard to give an ending when you know it carries on. Just my 2 cents.

          • Actually there isn’t nearly as much explained by just nanomachines as people often make it sound. Also, there is a narrative reason nanomachines play such a large role in the game’s story, it makes sense if you look at the larger whole and the themes the game wants to deliver.

          • Datguy8923

I know that, but MGS4 still felt like it was forcing a story on you wholesale. All the acts are super short if you skip cutscenes. The problem with MGS4 imo was that it wasn’t a “playable game” for too much of the time. Act 1 you can finish in like 20 min if you are super good, likewise with all the other acts. And I have witnessed others do it. Yes I know you can complete some missions super short in MGS V, and perhaps Kojima indeed went too far with a bare minimum story inclusion, but if it means it allows me to play as Big Boss for far larger amount of times and how as I want, then I’m down for it. If it’s one criticism of mgs v, is that Big Boss’s rather mute nature is jarring, considering Kiefer did a solid job whenever he spoke.

        • No Place For Hayter

Also, Kojima is human everybody makes mistakes, I wouldn’t call Kojima a “genius” because his state can change but I can call his games “genius” as the state of those will always stay the same.

I was about to talk spoilers but I’m not going to here. Here is a thread in our cardboard box forum where you can talk spoilers, as spoilers aren’t allowed here just yet.

          http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Cardboard_Box/topic/11321341/1/#new

        • AeroGre

Well the medic was supposed to be you, like on the cassette tape when big boss says we both make up big boss hes talking to the player

  • moto hellogoto

    Good riddance Kojima!!

    • No Place For Hayter

A bad story does not negate the rest of his work. We don’t even know if it is exactly what Kojima wanted.

    • GrayFoxWasTaken

this website wouldnt exist without him. show a little respect for the man who created the series your so passionate about you can get this mad.

      • moto hellogoto

The man straight up lied to us. So right now I don’t really care.

        • GrayFoxWasTaken

The jokes on me for not believing…” we been played like a damn fiddle…

      • G925

I’m thankful that he created this great series but just like with fucking George Lucas its time for him to go.

Dude just doesn’t know how to write a good story anymore and doesn’t give a fuck about his established world and characters.

        • GrayFoxWasTaken

But he does, and quite honestly I don’t get what all the uproar is about. I thought the end lacked closure for one set of characters but otherwise wrapped up pretty well

          • Gatsu

            I agree :).

  • BurntFM

I’ll be honest. I like the game. I really really like it. Chapter 1 had the right pace. It kept me motivated to go on and do all these micro-management(which I hate) to advance the game along. Then Chapter 2 happened. I seriously can’t understand why they would make Main Story Episodes. Repeats of missions from chapter 1 with a few extra rules thrown in there. [Subsistence] [Extreme] and [Total Stealth] could have been difficulty levels for all missions the way [Normal] and [Hard] were for Ground Zeroes. What made them decide to make those main story missions is beyond my understanding. It adds nothing to the story. It just made me not care for the missions anymore. Nothing matters in the game. There’s no resolution. But I really like the gameplay. I think I’m in the minority but I like the story and plot. I just feel so mad sometimes because I feel this is not the vision that was promised to us yet it’s a great game. I’m mad because it could have been legendary.

    • No Place For Hayter

Ah yes, the “what it could have been” it is especially hard for those whom played the whole series again before TPP, because it shows SO MUCH that could happen at that time in those two countries.

      • BurntFM

See that’s what I did. I had an MGS marathon before TPP came out. I had this mindset that was getting me excited. But that’s not entirely it. It was Kojima himself who set us up for something innovative. The scenes he hinted at were never realized. Even scenes from trailers that were the most memorable were nowhere to be found. That’s what drives the stake in the heart.

        • No Place For Hayter

Ah, so you do feel ALL the pain, lol. Yeah, I know how you feel about “what it could have been” lol.

          • BurntFM

I’m just going to laugh it off and pretend I’m a fiddle that was played by Trolljima LOL

          • No Place For Hayter

            Didju rike it?

          • moto hellogoto

The ending…It crushed the mgs fanboy inside of me.

          • stocchinet .

We already had mgs4 for the fanservice, and it’s quite cringey sometimes, i’ve not finished V yet but i’m full hyped for this so “disappointing” ending

          • moto hellogoto

you have no idea whats coming. Prepare for rage

          • stocchinet .

Nah, i rage only for serious things ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • What’s Ugly and Eats Ham?

This is worse than if your wife had a miscarriage twice in the same day.

    • JJBYACH

The actual story cutscenes happen in hidden important side ops that unlock as you do regular side ops and listen to important cassette tapes. Despite common knowledge you don’t actually have to do any of the repeat missions to get the true ending.

  • GrayFoxWasTaken

I saw this in the back of a completely unrelated video and Im pretty sure i figured out who mgsv ocelot is based off of

    • No Place For Hayter

I see what you mean. But Ocelot’s design is a combination of his MG:S outfit and his MGS3 outfit, a trench coat with the red sash. And anything western practically inspired and designed Ocelot, lol.

      • GrayFoxWasTaken

Im pretty sure this is THE western he is based off of, this exerpt is from the wiki

        “Driven to revenge,
Wales joins a Confederate guerrilla band and fights in the Civil War.
After the war, all the fighters in Wales’ group except for Wales
surrender to Union officers, but they end up being massacred. Wales
becomes an outlaw and is pursued by bounty hunters and Union soldiers.”

  • XIFF-5

    Hey guys,
I was trying to complete all side ops in TPP and there is one still remains, which is number 151 side op, It is simply not there. Also there is a glitch where some side ops are checked but i still see them in my map and i can play them again (they don’t gray out).
    Anyone encountered this problem?

    • Mr.Pony

Side 151 is target practice in command platform if I’m not mistaken, try leveling it up to lvl 4 (mine didn’t appear right away when i first constructed the first expansion i think). As for the second part some side ops still appear in your map so that you can replay some of them anytime you want.

      • XIFF-5

I know it is target practice and saw it on youtube.I am 78% in completion and did everything in the game, expanded my mother base so many times. nothing else i can do, it must be a glitch.

        • What’s Ugly and Eats Ham?

develop everything? S rank everything and check off all mission objectivess?

      • XIFF-5

Ok, maybe you were right but I didn’t understand it from you.
I guess you meant with lvl 4 (build 4/4 COMMAND PLATFORMS) not lvl 4 of the platform itself, cuz I just saw someone wrote that on YT. THANKS!

  • gerber

Apparently there is a serious glitch in the game that prevents you from getting all the trophies/achievements. In the mission 4 (C2W) you need to destroy communications hardware but I did that before the mission in free roam. When I started the mission, Ocelot was like “huh? it’s already destroyed, mission complete” and it instantly ended. The problem is that it gave me rank “-“. The problem is that when I replay the mission and get whatever rank, it doesn’t update and it always stays at “-“. It’s not only me I’ve seen other people get the same problem and there is no workaround for it. I hope it will get fixed!

    • GrayFoxWasTaken

Wait until the mission turns white again and go do it, the coms get repaired every few days

  • Gatsu

Bros if you wanna do long comments of MGSV story, it would be better to do it on the forums imo. Please… All you gotta do is a user over there.

There are those who havent finished the game and it’s depressing reading the million replies, can do it freely on the forums. Gotta agree with SolidLiquid, I kinda enjoy the reaction fans get lol.

    • Gatsu

Hmm good idea to feature this, I forgot that it can be done lol.

  • G Yoh Aquino

I just finished the game (main story)…
and where was this “never done in video game” thing Kojima was talking about? where is the going back to Camp Omega part?

    • gerber

I was really looking forward to this. Maybe it will be an MGO map?

  • Cartmangus

Welp, I finished the game and I wish I hadn’t. Massive Spoilers Below

I just can’t defend that ending even though I understand what Kojima was going for. He already did this with MGS2 though, and he did it better there. What was the point of repeating that, and doing it in the very final mission of the game? It adds absolutely nothing to it, if you remove that twist absolutely nothing changes, the game still works, it is still the same story. If you put Snake in the shoes of Raiden in MGS2 that entire game falls apart. You don’t make the player the protagonist with an already established character with a set path in the story, you just don’t do that. “I’m Big Boss and so are you” really? I mean I get it, Kojima, but it doesn’t make it not trash. And the fact that the Medic was Venom Snake is only detrimental to the message as well, why does that matter to anyone? why even give him any past? it adds nothing.. it’s like a bad fan theory acid trip of an ending. I wish I could get behind it, but I can’t, it’s just not good in any way and it feels so haphazard and adds nothing for me, only takes away. Yay, we have an answer to how Big Boss came back from death in Metal Gear 1…….

God damn, what a weak note to go out on.

Here’s the amazing journey that Big Boss went through in The Phantom Pain: Wakes up, rides ambulance, rides bike.

Such a shame, because the game underneath was absolutely fantastic and there were even plenty of great story beats throughout even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the story in general, but there were great moments (immediate standouts being the episode 1, 12, 20, 28,29, 30, 31, 43) but chapter 2 was so poorly put together and the final mission just dropping out of nowhere and being a flashback, just dropped in there with repeats of old missions, and the fact that it plays exactly like it did the first time around, they didn’t even bother to remove the tutorial prompts, I mean what is that shit?

At least playing it was a great experience.. but I’m so let down, and the fact that this is the last ever Metal Gear by Kojima makes it even sadder.

    • Lewis

      Absolutely agree.

It just removes value from the story. I care about Big Boss, because I saw him kill his mentor, be betrayed again and again, have his DNA taken for clones, be the leader every soldier dreamed of. And then I play as a nameless medic, who has no backstory, whom I don’t even know. All I get is “He is the best” from BB. Okay, but why? I know BB is the best, I made him the best in MGS3-PW. And this shit? Come on! If Venom would then become a villain, and BB would still be a good guy – that is the only way I can justify this piece of shit. But no, they are both villains. Well, we really needed an explanation about the twist in Metal Gear (game) that was more than 25 years ago!
And btw, why a simple medic can edure the hunt and create a force to be reckoned with, but BB suddenly is a pussy, who has to run away and build Outer Heaven in secret.
I was promised, that this game would give me an explanation about how BB from a hero and a saviour of all abandoned soldiers becomes a “villain”. Even though he did nothing bad in MG and MG2, they still say “he is a moster”, “you have to take him down”. Fuck this BB storyline. For me Venom became that villain, and BB went to a beach to rest. Anything else would destroy my memory of the greatest soldier of XX century.

I disagree. (I know there is a spoiler thread, but this is an exception, however, delete it if you want, I won’t mind)

Is a metaphor for Big Boss (Hideo) deciding to move on, to have someone else take his place. That’s who Venom is, the New Metal Gear Creator.

Now this tells us A LOT, the Fact that Venom is The Medic, that he was Big Boss’s longtime Friend, tells us that whoever takes over the series, is someone very close to Hideo who was on his side for years, who helped him from the shadows with this series.

My Money are on Ubisoft! (Remember MGS4, and the fact that Hideo is not just a Splinter Cell fan, but actually paid homage to it in Ground Zeroes opening)

I would set the world on fire, if somebody like Ubishit touches MGS.
Longtime friend? My ass! You know who is BB’s long time friend? Kaz. You know who else? Ocelot (even if it started a bit flamy). All we get about our character is ONE FUCKING LINE. “He is one of the best”. Okay, how about we make Call of Duty now. Who is that? He is important. Okay, who is that? He is bad. Okay, what do we do now? Dunno, tell the fans it is some deep shit and they will think of the explanation themselves.

And if you ever give money to Ubishit, unless on some miracle occasions like Child of Light or The Valiant Hearts – I’m really sorry for your taste.

          • MichaelPayneV

Well Blacklist is still a great Game, and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood still a masterpiece!

          • What’s Ugly and Eats Ham?

-LMAO how you came to that connection. It might be a metaphor of sorts. We’re supposed to be Venom. Its still lame storytelling imo. It almost ruined the game for me until I decided to pretend that mission never happened.

    • MichaelPayneV

Here I disagree, is a metaphor for Hideo leaving the series.

Gatsu, if this is spoiler, delete it!

    • Boldizar

      Spoliers

Not to mention the plan makes Zero sense if the real Big Boss was still in the freaking hospital anyways! Seriously what the hell? They both almost died. They could have let Quiet kill the one dude thinking it was Big Boss and achieved the same exact results.

    • Alex

      SPOILERS

Venom/You is every bit of Big Boss as one can possibly be, much more so than any of the clones, for he actually had the exact life experiences of Big Boss, and then some with the events of TPP. The uproar of not being Big Boss is silly as hell, because what this game does is even better than being Big Boss. Its being Big Boss AND literally making you that character, which is unprecedented and a thousand times better executed than Raiden being the player avatar for Snake. The fact that he was a medic is irrelevant, he’s a stand-in for the player. You give him your name, birthdate, and appearance. The game even celebrates your birthday.

    • Full_Options

Please you guys precise “SOLID” or not next “Metal Gear”. Kojima is a game developer. I was shocked at not playing snake in MGS2 too, but he was right to repeat it. “Who gives a sh.t about the mesh in a video game” was its message. Maybe critics are also making me more and more falling in love with this perfect piece of simulation and gamer’s comfort…

  • G925

Who cares? the story was garbage anyway (that fucking twist ruined it)

I can’t believe MGS informer said it was great.

Is any of the platform exclusive boxes in the game? The PS4, Xbox One, and Steam boxes? A shame if not.
