People need to realize that producing a Video Game is not cheap and what they want and expect is not always feasible from an economic standpoint. Kojima-san probably would have loved to realize it but Money is not growing on trees and neither does time.

The cutscenes I’ve seen so far are amazingly well made BUT I really wished Kojima added more story cutscenes for TPP …. even the cassette tape conversations would of made some quality cutscenes. The tapes were very well made, but some of them had great potential for cutscenes which can take full advantage of the facial/motion capture from the actors.
Did a lot of people back then REALLY complain about the long cutscenes in MGS4?? They were cool! 😀 Kojima shouldn’t have caved into the pressure …. haha

I’m excited to start a Japanese VA playthrough, but there is still so much left to do …
I’m not even close to finishing it yet. Aside from a recent four day weekend I haven’t really had the time to play it for hours on end. I’ve only finished mission 13 this morning. On the bright side of my pace, I’ll likely not be finished before MGO is released in October, so I’ll be plenty occupied with the single player game until I get to try MGO.

One thing I dont Understand is that PS4 install size of MGS V is 27 GB while PC is of 21.1 GB. Where is the rest of 7GB gone… Is it that MGO is Partially available on disc for PS4 as oppose to PC

My bet is on the various languages that are already on the PS4 disc as well as on the discs for any other console (This is the case for Europe, I don’t know how it is in other parts of the world. I think the US version has only English and might therefore be smaller?). Games on Steam normally do only have one language, depending on what language your computer uses. When you change the language of a game in the settings Steam automatically downloads the files for said language. The retail version might have all the languages and might therefore be bigger though.

What i learned today.
Whether or not you use the “Butterfly” emblem to keep Quiet and not finidh her storu, or not use it, and finish her storu shows if you play MG for the storu or gameplau!
Or both, I used it cause I still needed her as a buddy, but I did watch her ending and I have to say, it seems rushed, and it really leaves me wondering what she went off to do after diamond dogs
The game is called phantom pain, and phantom is mostly used as a metaphor in this game, so maybe Quiet never existed in the first place!
I guess it doesnt matter anymore though, I doubt we’ll ever see anymore development of this character again

Why everyone invited to review TPP was a Metal Gear Fan, why weren’t newcomers invited as well?
I found this really fishy, how Konami took advantage of its fan-base, just for some damn ratings.
All other outlets were professional. Metal Gear Informer, Yong, The Metal Gear subreddit and couple of MG forums were invited.
According to the older, professional outlets it’s very rare and awesome that they even invited us.
No one was given special treatment. We all sat down and played the game. Stopped for lunch then went back to playing. There isn’t a conspiracy theory about it. You played the game yourself, you know it’s good.
Things that happen to be cut are just unfortunate. I dint think it took away for the hours of gameplay you’re given. It’s legit my favorite game ever.
Now in your opinion, wouldn’t it have been better if Konami instead sent outlets Review Coppies instead, so that the Reviews could be based on a 100% Completion on the Game, and not just a time limited playthrought?
It wasn’t time limited, after the 4 days the outlets took their copies home to finish… Konami just gave everyone a chance to do nothing but play the game.

They could have easily sent Copies to Fan-Sites like this one, just as how they invited.
They way i see it is that they conroled the Review, and influenced the people who played it, indirectly.
From what i read, it just felt too controlled, now i understand your reaction to this, because it was proably the best thing that it happen in your gaming life, but please, don’t let the love for the series blind you on what Konami was going for.

From what I’ve heard around 10 missions are filler missions (repeat missions based from Chapter 1 but under certain conditions/harder difficulty).
Apparently Mission 43 was very good!
As for the game ending …. mixed reaction (leaning on more people not liking the ending) based on the comments haha
What doesn’t make sense is people calling Chapter 3 another cut content than mission 51, when is way simpler.
Mission 51 is the beginning of Chapter 3!
Mission 51 was probably originally the ending of chapter 2, a huge metal gear boss fight would feel weird for the first mission of a chapter. While chapter 3 was probably about big boss becoming a demon.
This would also make sense considering how oddly and randomly placed mission 46 is, quite possibly it actually had a spot, but the game never got that far so it was forced earlier.
That being said, I’m going to hold unto the idea that not much was cut until told otherwise by anyone who worked on the game. I know about episode 51 and chapter 3, but for all we know chapter 3 would have been cut even if KP had all the time in the world.
Do we have to beat all Main missions to get mission 46? (I’m talking about totalstealth and extreme) also what do I have to do to get mission 43? I just finished mission 42 and one side op, do I have to do more side ops?
For mission 43 just replay other missions and go back to ACC etc, and no you dont have to do the replays to finish the story, also I reccomend you use the butterfly emblem before you do mission 43

I had the same problem. I did all Main Missions (even the extra ones) and 90% of the Side Ops. Listened to all the tapes and it wasn’t unlocked. Then I did the last Unlucky Dog Side Op and it suddenly appeared. Just go through everything I guess.

i know im def not the only one who missed the long, heavy cutscene mgs exp.. but the story here if you want to even call it that was so un-mgs it wasnt even funny, and i spose the end looking back at mgs 4, it makes sense but its still to thin, i just wanted to feel something and as some other mgi user said here maybe this would have been better off as a spin of mgs title considering the mass e change,

yeah exactly!! i fell in love with these characters over many years and the final hurrah, this amazing ultimate goodbye kojima built it up to be “closing the circle” and the “best mgs ever” in reality doesn’t feel very metal gear solid at all.
i feel hurt, i hope kojima didn’t do this on purpose as some sort of arty “you will feel the phantom pain personally” thing. it could easily have been another game named project ogre if they just changed some character names and models. gameplay wise? masterpiece. depth and story and emotion and amazement – the things that make metal gear for me – gone. i’ve never felt so conflicted about a game it brings me so much happiness but so much disappointment about what could have been.
actually the intro for me was one of the most amazing things i’ve ever seen in games. after hours of the same mission but just changed up slightly gets irritating with no story to fill it out 🙁

Just finished mission 46 and while im not dissapointed , I expected more and idk it kinda hints there will be another metal gear. Also I think is way too sad the way paz is presented , I felt sad about her.

Also looking at Kojima Tweets he said two things one was that he was afraid that the game would become too big and not everyone would be able to complete it and V is not actually 5. I won’t be surprised if the game has been again cut into two games and latter being called MGS 5
dude no matter how hard you think that it wont come true. This is the last MGS game from Kojima and there is no second part to it. The “V” obviously stands for Venom and its also a play on the roman numeral value “5” so yes, this is MGS5 in the sense that its the 5th installment in the main running series. Its over. You’re probably not satisfied with it which is why you want a “real 5” but this is it.
I’m in 90 hours and episode 43, I think. But, seriously, wtf?! I’m really disappointed of playing the same missions again. And the worst part is they left the cutscenes. I know they were talking about replayability, but now is forced. I can accept, a little, the same missions of “rescue a prisoner” but this is too much. What’s next? Rescue a blonde Huey?
Sorry, I’m not a hater. I really enjoy the gameplay (gameplay that sometimes could be irritating), but the story and the little short cutscenes have killed my hype. Some minutes ago I was watching an important cutscene and I enjoyed it, but the trailers have showed too much.

I liked it. I also prefer the challenge missions to the hard difficulty in game zeroes, but Ive had alot of time to come to terms with it

Metal Gear Solid V is not actually 5 according to Kojima Tweet??… So we are still waiting for numbered series. To me V looks like a kind of experiment for the MGS open world game as it still does not have perfected open world environment and looking at the cut content if they make 5 I wouldn’t be surprised some of the content goes there..
