The new productions logo is so nice and fitting….

    • Lewis

His look made me think of Konami holding him in an underground cell with a small TV to watch VGA. Kinda in the spirit of The Dark Knight Rises, where Bruce (Kojima) was in prison and Bane (Konami) forced him to watch Gotham’s fall (VGA).

      • And then this happened:

        https://youtu.be/DjffIi2Pl7M?t=136

        • Lewis

Can we hire a video maker, to change Bale’s face to Kojima’s, and add KojiPro logos and member faces to people, who watched from below? And then send it to Konami? 🙂

    • Mr.Pony

It’s a “vacation beard” according to Konami no doubt

    • Cobra Commander

I bet all the shit he has endured in a rather small amount of time is taking its toll.
      He looks really stressed out!

          • MichaelPayneV

Yeah, the show is basically a series of 10 30 min episodes, so like a 5 hours movie combined, ant it is a sequel to the Original Evil Dead Trilogy with Bruce Campbell himself and the Writers and Directors back as well, so is not just respecting the Original, but also part of the Original series.

  • Xilurm

    This is even more glorious!

  • Kol Leqejza

hmm… i think now, that P.T. was removed from PSN because the rights went maybe to sony and kojima may do silent hills, w/o it being silent hills. my theory. and donna burke recently dubbing a horror game and interviews in the past by reedus & del toro made me think, too.

  • JJBYACH

Holy shit. It just occurred to me that since he is making a Sony Exclusive game he can maximise the potential of that console the way no other has, creating game mechanics tied to a single systems unique hardware and software – think MGS1 with Psycho Mantis. And with the social and inherent online capabilities built into the PS4… Jesus… Imagine in the game something happens and the game seems to crash and boot you to the home screen, as you try to reboot the game the home screen starts screwing up, the game threatens your to wipe your hard drive if you don’t do something in the game (it obviously doesn’t, but imagine how terrifying that would be you don’t know that), and now the protagonist and I both share a synonymous goal as now I feel personally threatened in my own reality at the thought of losing all those hours of my own life, and want to see the game through like the protagonist, maybe even more. That is a new breed of immersion, one that transcends the game space and into our reality, mechanical storytelling at its finest – the exact specialty of Kojima. Whatever he is doing next I can’t wait.

And then Kojima wakes up at his new studio, wipes tears away and says: “It’s okay, it’s all ogre now.”

  • biggy cross

Yessss now Sony like a smart company should get the metal gear rights for him

    • biggy cross

      Cool company logo

    • Lewis

That would be a nightmare, if he would be forced to make another MG. He didn’t want to make MG2, so why don’t we just let him do what he wants?

      • biggy cross

Who cares what he wants? Haha just kidding, just have him have the rights. And in the future he can make it whenever he wants if he wants to. We know he needs a rest.

        • Lewis

Honestly, with all the genius of Kojima, I’m glad, that MG is now in new hands. He didn’t want to do it for all those 25 years and we can see it in some of those games. So he should do anything he wants and we should try new MG from Konami. If it is given to someone who really loves the franchise – we can get an astonishing result. And if it’s shit…well, we have our collections to replay. 🙂

          • Janeo

I don’t understand how people could think he didn’t want to make some games, why do you think this? If he didn’t want to do the series he wouldn’t have done it for all those years and if he was forced, the games wouldn’t have turned out as great as they have. I agree with you about trying konamis next metal gear though and I will be looking more forward to that than kojimas new game, I believe the series can can still be great without kojima and I know some will never except that but sometimes series need to be passed on, just look at Star Wars.

          • Lewis

Well, he always said “it is my last MG” and some plot points make me think he wanted to do something different, with some other characters or scenery, but popularity of MG and already established lore made it easier to put it in MG universe.

I am really optimistic about next MG. It won’t be made by Konami’s CEO of course, so if they give it to a passionate director, we could get a very good game.

Say nothing about Star Wars! Tomorrow I’m going to watch it. 🙂

          • biggy cross

I’d rather wait until he wants to make the game. I don’t care how long I don’t trust anyone else to do these games.

  • The interesting part is that… Kojima Productions was Konami’s thing, no?
But Kojima somehow opened it’s studio again.

What if Kojima and Sony can buy out FOX Engine rights? Not maybe buy it, but license that shit?

    • Gatsu

      That’d be pretty cool.

    • Mr.Pony

Buy the rights of use of the engine yes, buy it totally from Konami don’t really think so. Konami will want to keep it if they ever want to make another console game. Kojima did it once, he can make it again if necessary and even come up with a better engine. I’m interested to see if Sony will try to buy any franchises and then pass its development to Kojima.

      • Kojima developed engine for 1-2 years. I don’t want him to spend so much time for the technology he developed for CURRENT GEN consoles.
I want him to make games. Good games and not spend time on the tech that he built for the future.

Fox Engine is brilliant and can be used for the current gen consoles. He did it once, for sure…. But there were plans to use it for the future. Now, he has a Sony’s support and money… But money can’t create technology. You need resources and programmers for that. It’s hard.

        • Mr.Pony

It all comes down to Kojima’s decision, I bet Sony will put everything they have at his disposal, but if he still wants to make a new engine they will make a new engine, if not they will use something owned by Sony and just focus on making the games (let’s hope this is the case)

        • Gatsu

Oh boy, so glad he stayed with game making. It’s his passion :). Aye Engine making takes time and I wanna see his next game XD!!

    • Maybe they just can’t prohibit him from using his own name in his company title.

      • Mr.Pony

Since Kojima Production is no more (the Konami version) the name is available for use, and what a way to stick it up to Konami xD

      • Full Options

I think they can only prohibit artwork and stylized visuals elements (fonts, etc) such as the old beloved Fox logo and original fictive character names for the text they use.

    • Full Options

I think it would be risky to keep any link to Konami after what we saw. Although they could continue to develop FoxEngine for Konami which could be ideal if they were not at war like that. But no worries, the engine is not a big problem. They can use at worst the PhyreEngine (which is very advanced now) or use a commercial one.

  • Gatsu

Even though I love MG, I’m glad that Kojima can move on from MG and show us a new kind of brilliant game. Can’t wait to find out what it is ^_^! I wonder what Engine they will use.

My PS4 will finally be more useful again :).

    • Full Options

      Zombie Gear Solid… 😀
They can yet very quickly build something on top of SCEE PhyreEngine. It is free, “quite” open source (i’d say) getting very mature, multiplat and drastically well organized to distribute processing across various processing units on the same board.

  • SNKtheStampede

That’s no big surprise, but it is the best outcome possible after konami got crazy (I still feel bitterness for it). Kojima-san is finally indipendent and the partnership with sony shall give him more GMP for his first new game. I still haven’t 100% clear if it will be Sony permanent exclusive. Good Luck to Kojima Productions!!!

  • FOX

    WHO’S DOİNG THİS? WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?

Aside from the logo reminding me of a microscope/telescope and sextant it also reminds me of a conquistador helmet, and from the quote, “aiming the new world with the latest technology and pioneering spirit”, makes me think of the history of exploration just from the specific terms “new world” and “pioneering”. Maybe something to do with space exploration?

    • Gatsu

      Hells yeah brother!!!

  • MichaelPayneV

That being said, i’m also looking forward to a new take on Metal Gear new series, if is handled with care by talented people, like Rocksteady or Remedy!

    • angelique devive

“handled with care by talented people like rocksteady…”. Rocksteady really needs to focus. AK lost many awards ’cause of its PC problems and platform bugs. I love Arkham series but I’ve never seen so many bugs in games.

      • MichaelPayneV

No offense, but i wasn’t talkign performance here, but the writting and directing from Rocksteady, they hard work they put in to the dialogue, the cutscenes, and the story, that’s what i mean, Arkham Asylum is a great example of Story over Gameplay, and Arkham City is proof that they are better at focused personal stories, like a Metal Gear!

        • angelique devive

well that’s true what you said about their dialogue/cutscenes/story. AC is good example.

Now that the hype for TPP is all gone, and people came to their senses, and are accepting the fact that TPP was dissapointing, you should really check this out, for better judgement in future for both Movies and Video Games.

I have to admit, i was also “Phantomenesing” over TPP the first 2 months, so i’m also part of the problem. This video describes how we felt about TPP perfectly, and how we feel now, especially what Chris said at 10:50
    https://youtu.be/9-_Q3zwk6Wo?t=10m50s

    • MGSV:TPP was not dissapointing. Not even close.

      Please stop.

      • MichaelPayneV

For me it was. Also disappointing doesn’t mean bad, a lot of people think that way, when it only means not as good as expected, at least for me.

If you enjoyed it, good for you, i also enjoyed it, but i just can’t ignore the flaws. I love Metal Gear, but i love Metal Gear when is good, i don’t love TPP, but i do like it, had fun enough to enjoy it, but it doesn’t really hold a candle to, let’s say “Snake Eater” and is understandable why is that way, Hideo wasn’t ready to make another MG, you can tell that he wasn’t in that creative mood, that he was forced to do it!

I’m sorry, that’s just how i feel about it now after i spent enough time with the game. Peace.

    • Jav

I’m not going to fall again in the hype. Not this time hideo.

    • Janeo

I hate when people speak like it was disappointing for everyone, you do have your unsatisfied group but the group who were satisfied are just as big. It’s the best game I have ever played and if you didn’t think it was great that’s fine but you can’t say people should accept that it was disappointing. I feel like a lot of people let the issues between kojima and konami get to their heads, you saying kojima didn’t want to make this game is ridiculous, he said himself that it’s the game he always wanted to make and look how much fun he had with the marketing, he didn’t get forced to make the game, it was his vision for the series and it’s truly an amazing game.

      • MichaelPayneV

As i said, Disappointing doesn’t mean Bad, it means under expectations, and it was thanks to Konami cutting the second part of Act 2, and the whole Third Act.

Was it a great Game, Absofukkinglutely, it was an amazing Game, Best Game of 2015, but disappinting by the Standars of the Series created by Hideo himself.

I’ll give you another example, Max Payne 3, Amazeballs Game, possibly the best game of 2012, but also a disappointing game fr the Franchise.

TL:DR: TPP was a Disappinting entry in the Metal Gear series, but a Damn Fukking Awesome Standalone Game, great Gameplay, Best Cinematography i have ever seen in a Video Game, but disappoinding story wise, it just felt like GZ was made by Kojima, and TPP by Punished “Venom” Kojima.

PS: I specified that it was just for me at least, so i never said that it was for everyone, just for some, and wanted to find out if you guys feel it too, don’t you, but whatever, you get my point beside my lac of PC (Political Correct) from my comment, you get what i’m saying, i hope.

        • OcelotSilver

It’s only disappointing if you were expecting Kojima to pander to whatever fanbase wants. Otherwise, the game goes beyond it’s hype level. And possibly is the best game of this with The Last of Us.

          • MichaelPayneV

No, you’re just fan-boying now, but hey, i don’t blame you, i also did this with AC III, then years later realized i was wrong.

          • OcelotSilver

Doesn’t change the fact that MGSV is not disappointing. It’s as disappointing as MGS2 was for Solid Snake fans but beyond that it’s fucking brilliant. And this is coming from someone who had unbelievable expectations of the game.

          • MichaelPayneV

Looks like you still don’t get my point, and no offense, if you say that you are not disappointed by the way it ended, then you are lying, you just don’t want to admit it, because you want to love TPP, same as i was with AC Unity and 3, i was telling to myself that it was amazing, i was lying to myself, when i knew deep inside, i felt something empty.

Again, i don’t judge you, but at the same time, you didn’t had to become so defensive in the first place, my comment was only directed towards the people that feel the same, that are on the same page with me, so if it doesn’t apply (to you) let it fly!

            Have a nice day.

          • OcelotSilver

Lol this post is hilarious bad.

          • MichaelPayneV

As i said, have a nice day.

        • Alexa Danielle Bresee

What makes you think there is a cut third act? the story as presented is complete (with the exception of the unfortunately missing Kingdom of the Flies). I know people datamined a “chapter 3” title card, but that doesn’t imply anything about cut content, rather just that the content used to be structured differently.

          • MichaelPayneV

The fact that all his Games, and any Story has a 3 acts structure (Prologue and/or Intro + Act 2 +Ending and/or Prologue) that’s a basic Storytelling Structure, and Hideo cares about that.

What i mean is that TPP has no ending the Bathroom Scene, that scene is a set-up for the ending + and/or prologue, simple as that, TPP has no third act, no conclusion.

Act 1: Presents its Characters, and shows their goal, and something comes in between them and the goal
MGSV: The Comma is the obsacle, Revenge is the goal

            Act 2: The Journey
Act 3: Whether or not they have achieved their goal, and whether or not is a happy or sad ending

TPP is missing the third act, the finale!

    • Alexa Danielle Bresee

my only disappointments were the two things missing from the game itself– The missing battle gear and eli conclusion — and the lack of the promised ground zeroes return.

Otherwise the game is one of the greatest games ever made, and if it was disappointing over all, all i can say is maybe your expectations were too high

      • MichaelPayneV

To give you an example, 1 of the disappointments was the Villain, i didn’t care for Skull Face, he was really bad Written, and for me a Story is allways as good/bad as the villain!
