Speaking of Shinkawa drawings, a few days ago Kojima shared the original drawing for the Kojima Productions logo.
“KJP logo. As mentioned, there’s rest of the body setting I want u to imagine. Here’s the head part drawn by Yoji.”
The logo also decorates a new iPhone case by GILD design, possibly something they will sell in the official KP store, but no word on that yet.

I read that as more about development problems in general, like getting their assets to run and such, rather than cutting content for last-gen and PC. It would’ve been hella easier if they just had 2 consoles to focus on, like most games do. And the FOX Engine was created with this purpose in mind, to have assets that can easily be scaled up or down for any platform. So while Konami wanted the game on all platforms, Kojima and crew created the FOX Engine to make that happen. I doubt they fought about it in the later years, they just had a ton of stress and such which is the nature of making games.

By what we had from the game, leaving Chapter 3 speculations out, I can only interpret the hallway scene as metaphorical for V becoming a demon, after SPOILER being deprived of his identity for the sake of BB. The comparison with Skullface is very clear: both of theme are phantoms created by Zero to keep BB safe. The burning pic could be a hint to look under V’s physiognomy and wonder if it would still be BB without that… or it serves in pair with the last pic to show that under a phantom there’s always a skull, a human being sacrificed.

The marketing campaign for V is full of lies.Showing something in the launch trailer and deliver another thing…Kojima lied to the fans and that’s a bad thing imo.
To me the trailer could be two things, its either pure Trolljima making us believe the story would about BB turning evil, or its something along the lines of Konami not being done with MGS and them wanting to continue the BB arc, and this is the long run story, the good man who turns evil. I could see Konami going, “hey you need another year to finish that? No, just wrap it to make sense, and we will continue the story on another MGS”
Well, you are right, it surely creates false expectations. One thing I supposed was that we could get that face as final stage of Demon Snake… But after MGS2 we all should know Kojima likes deceiving fans. I understand people getting angry for that, but I think that in the future we will all appreciate the boldness only Kojima demonstrates on exploiting media and marketing. I find TPP marketing campaign the best and most memorable in gaming industry.
It would be even better it there was a chapter 3, playing with the concept of phantom pain with the players, the ultimate Kojima move.

Yeah, he did that with the marketing/ trailer for MGS2 as well ….
But yes you are right, fans got angry at Kojima for playing as a different character for both MGS2 (eventually after 5 – 10 years later, people got over it) and MGSV.
Yeah,he did it for MGS2 as well,but at least that game had a fantastic story,and we got Solid Snake as a support character…It was way better (and had less lies) than marketing campaign of V imo.
Well you see that’s the problem. People back then didn’t want Solid Snake as a support character. They wanted to play as him in MGS2 (well you did but only in the tanker mission) but instead got Raiden. While you enjoyed the story which is cool (got critical acclaim from reviewers as well), there were people that hated the switch so much they hated on the story (and Kojima) as well. It took YEARS for people to interpret/analyse the themes presented in MGS2 and eventually most of them got over it or appreciated it.
I’m not saying TPP will get the similar treatment as MGS2, because I can’t predict the future lol. It might, or might not ….
In terms of marketing, it doesn’t matter which campaign did it better, a lie is a lie. But TPP was missing story content and tracks for the soundtrack which is simply unacceptable so you are correct in that sense. But If you are talking about missing gameplay elements/mechanics, things do get cut in production for whatever reasons. This happens for ALL games out there. That’s what gameplay demos are used for, to showcase the alpha/beta build of the game not the final build.
He made scenes specifically for the trailers. Yea the trailers tricked me too, but I’m okey with it now. It made the twist better when trailers didn’t confirm I was playing another dude.

My Take, The Hallway is a Metaohor of Venom going through different Stages, first believing he is John, then after finding out who he really is, after being “killed” by Solid, coming back as the villain itself, Skull Face, which could be the one that was behind everything in SS Saga, the Phantom that we never saw and will never see, unless we get the new Series showing us SS Saga from a different Perspective!
It could also show that they used James Horan’s Head for Snake, and have it animated by Kiefer!

I have a question about Metal Gear 5. I stopped playing now and Im thinking… what about my mother base?
Will it will be always open to other players to steal my containers and materials or nuclear weapons? Or is there a way to close it when You are not playing?

I’ve stopped playing as well but unfortunately, other players will be able steal your containers/staff members/ materials/ etc, even when you are not playing the game. One way to prevent this, is to buy Mother Base insurance using real money. The other way is to simply NOT go online when playing TPP haha. Always stay offline.

Well I haven’t done an FOB invasion ever and my rank stays way too low and nobody attacks me.
Its really amazing! But its mega hard too. You cant retry mission if something goes wrong. If enemy sees it will get really hard. Everyone will shoot You. You still can win but its not so cool when You steal containers or soldiers when nobody sees You. Stealth is the best! I have invaded other bases 4 or 5 times but only 2 times I was able to sneak through that no one sees me. But its mega great and cool. You should try it. Metal Gear is the best!

I am finishing up Withcer 3 Expansion finishing my Fifa15 career mode and a stack of games half finished. But being my last MGS game ever, it took priority.

There’s already 90’s Berserk anime that ends after 24-26 episodes and recent movie trilogy of about same events, but manga so far has gone a lot further. Waiting for new chapters is giving me phantom pain though…

Not a big fan of anime but I’ve been leaning towards watching this one, how good is it?
It’s f*cking cool trust me :), watching it makes you a man. The manga is rated as one of the best ever by many. But if you start watching it, well the 90’s anime is maybe better than the movie trilogy. They both miss some great and different moments from the manga though which is a shame.
I recommend checking the original one first, but if want more fluid animation watch the trilogy.
The animes end at the kind of moment, that makes you want to read manga and see what happens next. I read all chapters in a few days because couldn’t stop haha ;). Really emotional story with some similarity to TPP. If you ever played Dark Souls, the creator of it took inspiration of Berserk because he’s a fan.

The story of One Punch Man is simple, but the execution is PHENOMENAL! Best anime of 2015 without a doubt. And the animation man.. the best thing you’ll ever witness.. especially the last episode DDDD: season 1 is only 12 episodes, you can finish it all in 4 consecutive hours xD

I’ve watched the trilogy and it was great, but it was missing that something… It skipped some great moments with certain characters or events for example, and didn’t have same OST. There’s only so much that can be added to a trilogy, like with LOTR movies.

Was crazy how it ends. I was shocked when I saw it maybe 10 years ago, I was first like “wtf just happened, it can’t end like this ;O”. But was so glad I found that it goes a lot further :D.
If you read mangas bro, check the one of Berserk. It’s a masterpiece :). Read from beginning as it shows everything and in more brutal/detailed way. The original anime and movie trilogy only take maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the story so far.

i will give the trilogie a go altho i dont really care for cgi in anime’s it somehow distracts me from the drawing. maybe i even try out reading a manga i watched countless animes over the years but never read a manga once xD

I thought I read somewhere that if you’re away for too long DD won’t go on missions with you for a while because he’s too upset. Maybe I’m wrong but I guess it was never implemented.

Been playing Life Is Strange and wow this game is amazing. I’m currently in episode 4…holy shit, the feels . Thx to some in here for suggesting it to me earlier ;).

I love games that make me cry, because not many give these feels after 20 years of gaming. Same goes with movies.
Life is Strange is my personal pick for GOTY 2015, it is also one of my favorite games of all time. I wrote an essay on why I think the game is a masterpiece on the Life is Strange Subreddit – I could link it to you once you finish (I go through the entire game, thinking editing it with the aim of condensing the size of it, it’s a bloody huge essay). A very interesting postmodern deconstruction of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” genre with some of the most ingenious and refreshing use mechanical storytelling since MGS2; for example: I love how the games’ rewind system is essentially just a save system whose existence is justified and internalised within the narrative, and DontNod played with that notion to perfection. And on top of that it is a damn awesome “Choose Your Own Adventure” game.
I might have to change my GOTY too ;), even though I truly enjoyed TPP… starting the last episode soon. LiS just touches my heart closely, it makes me remember much of my childhood and friends, and I can relate to the characters a lot. Very beautiful game. And it blends the time bending and choices perfectly, some of the choices seem so difficult ;D. Loved the journey so far.
