In a recent podcast from Game Informer, former Snake voice actor David Hayter talked about his contributions to the Metal Gear series over the years, and the way it ended with MGSV, when Kojima chose Kiefer Sutherland for the new voice of Snake. According to Hayter, Kojima actually wanted a new voice actor since Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
