Kojima Productions (partially) reveals face of Ludens in new image
Kojima Productions has released a new image of the studio’s mascot Ludens to website GameSpot, partially revealing the face of the character. As some speculated, the skull is some kind of mask, and a human face is hidden behind it.
It also contains the tagline ‘I’ll keep coming’, but other than that the studio encourages us to imagine freely.
When Ludens was first revealed, producer Ken Imaizumi apparently told Gamespot: “This is not an image of the game which we are working on.” About today’s image he said: “This is not a screenshot.”
In other news, Kojima Productions finally opened an official Twitter account, so be sure to follow them.

The official Twitter account explained the meaning of the name Ludens.
As you might know, Ludens’ name comes from “Homo Ludens” or Playing Man, and that’s what we are all about. Like Hideo Kojima said: “Games are fun to play, but they’re even more fun to make!”
Kojima elaborated: “The icon of Kojima Productions is LUDENS (those who play) who delivers NEW PLAY in NEW FUTURE with the use of cutting edge equipment, technology & frontier spirit. Western & Eastern, past & future, destruction & frontier, adventure & creation, real & fake, all these images got into fusion.”

Reedus instantly came to mind when I saw the new pic. Those eyes are unmistakable.

Also Mirror’s Edge Catalyst reviews came out – got kinda mixed reviews; most of them leaning more on the positive side, seems to be a very niche game as I expected, can’t wait to play it.
Looks amazing, but I still not sure about this game. Everything is great, but there is always a fear that something will be off. Hope to see some actual gameplay at E3.

According to various news sources it has been delayed to 2017. Could be a good sign for a trend to actually finish a game now before publishing it^^
They confirmed the delay themselves. At the very end of the trailer it flashes the delayed release date for about 1 second, in obvious hopes that people wouldn’t notice it XD
I played Mirror’s Edge beta and I hated it. The story, the dialogs – they were sooooo badly written. It tries to be so cool and edgy, government hurr-durr-durr, but we are so much better, we are freeeeee hurr-durr, Fate, you are the best of the best of the best even after being in a prison hurr-durr, I don’t like birds, but I like birds, but I hate them, but I feed them. I literally couldn’t push myself to play it. ME must be a game with arenas and levels without any story. Then it would be great.
I loved it, but I see where you are coming from. It’s a very niche game. I also really liked what I saw of the story. But yeah. Not for everyone.

That looks bad ass!!!!! I’m wondering if it’s like a working process. Like a stunt Kojima set up. It’s just an assumption but I think first it was the head. Kojima showed it to us and the fan art started to pour in. I think they got inspiration from that and made the body. Then more fan art started to pour in and now it has a face. I think it will continue to evolve the more they show and the more ideas start coming in. Like a back and forth between KojiPro and the fans to make the ultimate mascot for the studio. That’s just a guess though.

I never played Mirrors Edge, but some might love it for certain reasons while others don’t :).
Meh. I loved the beta. Reviews were polarizing (in UK 70% + is an A grade).
Still awaiting for the game to arrive this Thursday. It’s a very niche game. I tend to take reviews (especially metacritic scores) with a grain of salt. I found Uncharted 4 rather underwhelming and not as good as I hoped after completion, whilst the whole industry was praising it. So I’ll only hold an opinion based on what I’ve played, and so far I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played and seen.

I certainly think Kojima will be there in some capacity, even if just for the hype train. People see something by Kojima and go berserk (with good reason) and he knows that, and he needs that. Starting the hype and getting people interested and curious about what he’s doing is fundamental for Kojima at this stage.

The camera angle is exactly the same. It’s as if Kojima wanted people to know it’s Reedus.
I do not exclude that it could be Norman though. The Konami’s mesh should also naturally show differences with any other new Koji-Pro scan. The angle is indeed well matching and I would love to have Norman in this suit, but we have too few elements to further confirm (at least for now.. ;D).

The demo was dull and even made me ask myself “why am I waiting for this game again?”. And then I remembered that Human Revolution didn’t shine at presentations either, didn’t look the best and never blew helicopters in your face. It shined after complete immersion, something that a guy at the stand can never give you.

It’s not CGI, it’s in-engine graphics. Apparently some journalists went to Ubisoft HQ and saw a live demo or something. The gameplay is obviously running on a PC with its graphic settings put so damn high the final downgraded product will look like a ps2 game in comparison.

I’d say it looks more like like a re-skinned Assassin’s Creed. The free running looks like “hold one button to do everything”, and the combat looks similar to Assassin’s Creeds’ retardedly simplistic “press one button to do a really long kill animation and win every fight in the game”. Mirror’s Edge (in regards to free running), requires skill to move as smoothly as in that Watch Dogs gameplay.

Well, he is right about 1 thing, GZ was more challenging, since after all, that was Big Boss, while in TPP you could move faster, more flexible, because you were a young Medic with a lot more resources!
Big Boss was feeling like a freakin Tank in GZ, i liked that, while The Medic in TPP felt really agile.
That being said, that doesn’t make GZ better, now, they are both 2 separate games, 2 great games, TPP better because of the scope, but i agree, GZ did some things better!

I enjoyed GZ more. I replayed GZ multiple times but have never gone back to replay TPP. And yeah TPP was bigger but also emptier, but with GZ wherever you go there is always something going on or something to interact with.
