Ludvig Forssell composing for Death Stranding
Ludvig Forssell, who composed the music for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, has confirmed he is currently working on the soundtrack for Death Stranding. You can get a first taste of his work in the new Death Stranding trailer.
“Cat’s out of the bag. Yes, I am composing music for Death Stranding, it’s an honor to once again work with Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima.”
Ludvig was spotted a few times during this year’s Tokyo Game Show, suggesting he had joined the new studio, but this had not been confirmed until now. On his Twitter account, Forssell describes himself as composer and audio director at Kojima Productions.
Metal Gear Solid V’s music was met with positive response, even taking home Best Soundtrack at last year’s Game Awards. To learn more about his approach to the music in MGSV, check out this interview.

Our Heaven, and Our Helll…it’s Kojima’s definition of Purgatory, and looks like DS is taking place in an actual “Outer Heaven” with actual “Skulls”

I would have loved Rika Muranaka to come back as composer. She knew how to write iconic songs for Kojima. I’m okay with Ludvig working on Death Stranding, but I’m not going to pretend his sound is as iconic or will be as memorable as Muranaka’s.

Hirano is S++, probably the only board’s friend that really defended Boss at Konami during the debacle and I believe it is a strong and great signal to give to Konami’s staff down-stairs.
As for Masaki Saito, he is a very talented, rather mid-Sr staff member.

Yeah, and it’s a really important research. The people who will form the basis of his crew may hint at the direction of DS.
I just hope he’ll continue to regularly extract a lot of other dudes. I fear quite many are left, but seeing other leave safely at Boss’s place may give them some ideas.

What was heart-breaking during this investigation is to see all those KP JP and LA Dudes either at other studios are selling themselves as freelance… Very sad..
Few are working at other places or in the nature such as Junji Tago (FoxEngine Tech Director, can’t remember where) or Shuei Tanaka (Technical Artist working at Wow).

After watching the new trailer of Death Stranding I was thinking if the same guy is making the music for the game that made soundtrack for MGSV. And I was right.
MGSV and Death Stranding soundtrack are very similiar. I mean this new trailer.
After first trailer of DS I kinda didnt know how the gameplay can look but after seeing the new trailer I think I know.
This will be a MGSV. After seeing those soldiers, tanks and Mads as a new boss looking like a dlc chara for MGSV I think we will got new MGSV. Thats my opinion.
And when Mads first appears first we see soldiers and next Mads.

If you’re trying to suggest that MGSV and Death Stranding are similar in a way, I can totally see where you’re coming from. If that was the case, then perhaps Death Stranding could be the MGSV Kojima could have made had Konami’s execs not got in the way.

We all have bad days sometimes .
Yeah it was stressful time, because we all had waited TPP for years and I wanted to keep possible spoilers at 0%. Some members including you crossed the line or went too close, not making our job very easy. For example kept mentioning things related to hospital part after seeing leaked content just days before release etc. But you weren’t the only one. I think I did say many times to not even give any hints of it.
So we dropped some ban hammers just to make sure nothing slips out. I don’t enjoy spoilers. I believe we didn’t delete them for no reasons.
It’s all in the past so I hope we can forget it :).
