New images of the Ludens action figure by Sentinel, will be available for pre-order soon

The Ludens action figure by Sentinel has arrived at Kojima Productions for checking, and Kojima shared some pictures of the new results. The 30 cm (~12″) figure has two types of visor (clear and black) and blue lights inside the helmet can light up. The eyes in the face can move as well.

“1/6 Action Figure LUDENS by Centinel. 30cm high. Here’s the sample in the final stage, beautiful work! It has clear & black visor versions and of course it lights up, the eyeball rolls! Ready to take pre-order soon!”

“Testing to switch the clear visor for an instance, that detail! brilliant work!”

“Yoji was fascinated.”

  • I’m buying this one and Goodsmile nendoroids (white and black).
This is the best quality figure ever. I wish these guys made more MGS ones.

  • lol, yesterday this ‘gem’ was on tv. Forget about Pacific Rim, this is its low budget little brother, Atlantic Rim.

What a ‘gem’ indeed.. xDxD Low budget, but I may nevertheless be rude with this indy CG quality… xD
Those bots look like power-rangerish canned tuna + cardboard assemblage… xD
And the actors are playing and / or directed like porn stars, and the camera angles are… Wuow… Is it serious or a prank ? :DDD

The finishes at this scale are just stunning with this one… (o_O)

  • Gatsu

Goddamn that figure looks so sexy, I wish I could get it (maybe I will) :D.

Btw this is so epic, makes me think also about growing up playing MGS from 1998 to this day …good times.

Hmmm, I don’t understand why there’s a picture of me in this thumbnail, but hey, it’s good to see that people don’t forget about us – ordinary Medics!

      • Gatsu

        XD

Heyyy, Vux, have you yet boarded again or are you still fishing + Coronas ??
In both cases, good luck !

Ooops, sorry Engene, the message was for Vux, sorry for disturbing !

Yea it’s a really well done done video. Kefka always makes quality MGS videos. Its been hell of a ride playing with Big Boss thru MGS3-MGS:PW-MGSV:TPP.

I only wish to play as Big Boss once more post MGSV and pre MG1/MG2 events, but unfortunately that won’t be happening.

Still have 22 days off. But thanks, fish are bitting, the grill is hot and corona ice cold.

I can’t ask for better vacation like that. Tho I haven’t turned on my PC/PS4 for a while now, its literal draught of games these last 3 months.

Hey Vux, thanks for the reply, and sorry for reminding you the return then … My bad.
But 22 days leave quite some room to grill a great quantity of extra meat / fishes. ;D

          • MrVux007

Thank for asking again mate, means a lot.
I have a well balanced “3/3” contract length, that is, 3 months at sea and 3 months home-time.

I can’t complain. But enough bout me, how are things with you? Can we expect any juicy new game-projects?

Thanks for the details, that explains why you always finish the year during Christmas & co… 😀

Regarding me, ahhh… Still tessellating point-cloud data but not for game levels for now I am afraid.. 😀
These days I am more enslaved with sea bathymetric models..
Btw, since you are a sailor, you might find those underwater landscapes interesting. I may extract more directly the rest of the med sea but check those two areas for now. No hardcore big deal but just some fun WebGL rendering (should run fairly well on WebGL enabled browsers) for testing purposes :

I’ll certainly give these a look later.

          • MrVux007

These are quite impressive, we have similar tech onboard but truth be told we don’t use them.

Do you usually this kind if stuff?

I am not using the probe itself, I am not the one on the boat like you. ;D
The data-sets come from several geological monitoring programs. Various scientific cruises collect the data and make them more or less accessible to our commission and the community. On those samples, I am just doing the geometry reconstruction / rendering for later on layering other parameters.

Semi-OT: Glixel did an interview with Jordan Amaro, who was a designer on MGSV before working on Resident Evil 7 and Splatoon 2. He talks a bit about the differing ideologies between western and Japanese developers, and specifically about the difference in design priorities.

It seems to me, when I look at the way game design was done at Kojima Productions, the way it’s done at Capcom and Nintendo, the way I feel it’s being done at Platinum Games or From Software, I feel there’s a lot more importance and focus given to game mechanics over world, setting, story, message, all that stuff.

I’m stereotyping, but in the West, scope, visuals, and features are the main attraction. For example, when we used to have Kojima Productions L.A.—we had an office in Los Angeles—we would get proposals for new games, pitches. It always started with: “This is the world you’re in. This is the experience I’m going to give you.” And gameplay was relegated to page 5 or 6 or 10. It was always about who you’re playing, who is the character, what’s going on, but not the “how,” how am I playing this?

In Japan, a pitch is a page, maybe two. The first page you write what the game is about and how you play it. And the second page, maybe you need an illustration. We don’t care about who, or what the story is, what the game world is, all of this doesn’t really matter.

I still see Fox Engine here, don’t know why!

      • Full Options

;D If we had any engine capable of rendering this in real-time, I would not bother with which one.. Gonna watch Cloud Atlas right now on your previous advises… Will let ya know.. 😉

Hey Lex, Cloud Atlas was very cool, thanks for suggesting it.
My favorite epoch was Neo-Seoul’s, but all others were really stunning.
        Thx again !
