Metal Gear Survive sells a little over 31,000 copies in Japan
Following the UK charts released on Monday, we now have the numbers showing how Metal Gear Survive did in its homeland Japan. The game sold 31,359 copies on PlayStation 4, earning it a third place in the charts. These numbers are from February 19th to 25th, meaning Survive had been out for five days at the time of reporting.

By comparison, Media Create reported more than 400,000 copies of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain sold in its first week (PS3 and PS4 combined), and Ground Zeroes achieved around 200,000. Metal Gear Rising sold over 300,000 copies in its first week. Needless to say, Metal Gear Survive didn’t come close to these numbers.
Update: According to the Japanese PlayStation Store charts (via website DualShockers), Metal Gear Survive did manage to claim the first place here. Specific numbers are not available, but here is the top 5:
