Metal Gear Rising producer clarifies VR Missions DLC

When the VR Missions were announced yesterday as a DLC pack, it led to some confusion about whether there won’t be any in the retail version of the game. Today Metal Gear Rising’s producer Yuji Korekado clarified this.

He explains on Twitter that there will be in fact VR Missions in the retail version of the game. The DLC pack announced yesterday (the one that’s exclusive to PlayStation 3 in North America) are additional missions that they are working on now.

Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba emphasized on the same thing: these are extra mission developed after the creation of the game, and nothing will be cut from the retail version.

I don’t support DLC, i don’t like them, these so called “extras”. Why couldn’t you have delayed the game and put them in the disc? This is bullshit.

Why would you want them to delay the entire game in exchange for a couple of missions that are 100% optional?

I’m saying that the content should be there from the start. I don’t want the game to be delayed.

They are still completely and totally optional side missions with no real benefit other than slightly extending the life of the game. It’d be different if it was Main Story DLC… But its just side missions. Not that important.

I never buy DLC, but these are just some optional side missions like RmanX1000 pointed out, so I don’t really mind that I don’t get to play them.

You obviously don’t grasp the concept that it takes 4-6 months for a game to be certified….When they get it back NO they CANNOT add content or really change ANYTHING otherwise it has to be certified all over again……Taking another 4-6 months

Are you sure? I think that games go “gold” one month before release or so.
