Kojima hints at Metal Gear Solid V gameplay demo at E3?

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, the biggest video game conference of the year, is only a few weeks away now. It’s safe to assume Kojima and his team are busy preparing at this moment. Today, some tweets posted by Kojima hint at a possible gameplay demonstration.

In the first post, Kojima talks about going on a business trip, despite his tight schedule getting ready for June (that’s when the E3 will take place). His second comment is more interesting. Kojima mentions that it’s difficult to show a gameplay demonstration for an open world game in a short video. This seems to suggest there will be a gameplay demonstration at E3, and the open world aspect will probably play a role in it as well.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain itself isn’t mentioned by name, but it’s safe to assume this is what Kojima is talking about.

Konami’s pre-E3 show will take place on June 6, Metal Gear Solid V is one of the games confirmed for the show. It will be live streamed on several websites such as GameSpot and Gametrailers, as well as on Xbox Live.

Man, I can’t wait! There’s so much goodness coming this E3 😀 Still a bit bitter about Hayter though…

    • We might be seeing him..who knows.

      • Ilja Y.

I’m almost certain about David Hayter’s reveal =)

      • JDawg

E3: Hayter comes out and says “Gotcha!” lol

  • PrinceHeir

    amazing 😀

i wonder if the open world aspect will be expanded to TGS 2013(makes sense)

btw for clarification MGSV will be two games right?

Ground Zero and Phantom Pain and not that Ground Zero is just a prologue chapter of Phantom Pain within?

    • Nyxus

The distribution method of GZ and TPP is still unclear, but both together are MGSV.

      • You, know, technically, they are still separate games, meaning David Hayter could still come back as Big Boss in Ground Zeroes, and have them change during MGSV after his coma.

        • Nyxus

That’s a possibility, given that Akio Otsuka did the voice over in the Japanese version of Ground Zeroes. But from the interviews Hayter gave, it didn’t sound like he has anything to do with MGSV, be it Ground Zeroes or The Phantom Pain.

I will enjoy a cigar while watching the E3 MGSV demo.

      Father’s favorite…

Nice, but be carefull when smoking near PCs, PS3s as it slowly destroys the hard drives and the blu-ray lasers. Also the smoke becomes solid and stays on the metals inside the PS3 making it even weaker to and exposed to YLoD. I’m a technitian and that’s the advice i give my customers.

      • Ilja Y.

gonna take some distance between my cigar and my computer. thanks for advice!

very excisted about this year E3.

OPEN WORLDDDDDDDDD. That got my undivided attention. Open world and MGS just go together so nicely. I’m sure Kojima will not mess this up.

With the dumb collection coming out, Kojima uses the excuses to wait an extra year or more.
