Hideo Kojima will attend Tokyo Game Show for MGSV demo

Hideo Kojima will be at this year’s Tokyo Game Show to give a gameplay demonstration of Metal Gear Solid V. This was officially announced on the Japanese Kojima Productions website.

The gameplay will be from the Ground Zeroes portion of the game. Furthermore, the trailer shown at E3 (the shorter version and the red band version) will be released for the first time with Japanese voice overs. Also, new footage will be made public as well.

The demonstration will take place at the PlayStation booth, which makes it highly likely it will be the PlayStation 4 version of the game (Konami announced earlier that they would show the next gen versions of the game at TGS).

The Tokyo Game Show will take place from September 19 until 22. The exact date and time of when the new videos will be published will appear on the Japanese MGSV site.

gameplay as well? this is why i love TGS!!!!

    • Nyxus

Yeah, they said it will be a play through on a higher difficulty setting, as opposed to the demo shown at the LA studio opening event. That was on the easiest setting.

“Also, new footage will be made public as well.”

Is it referring to the demo or is this referring to a new trailer?

    • Nyxus

      I don’t know, I believe they didn’t specify (it’s in Japanese so I can’t be sure).

Anyone know whether it’ll be streamed live or not?

    • Nyxus

I think it will, but they will probably provide information on that in the near future.

Kojima is having problems with the TGS demo.

Kojima – “If you’re going to see the demo at the stage event, I may have to stop (before the end of the presentation) because of mistakes.”

Kojima – “Oh my, the demo for the stage event is 100% more difficult. The behavior
of the enemy is different every time, I can’t help it because I cannot
predict it. I found out while playing that it’s not possible to pre-plan
the presentation. If it was our own booth, extending the time would be
possible on a case-by-case basis, but this time it’s not.”

Why doesn’t he record a video of his best playthrough? Does it have to be a live presentation?

    • Nyxus

A live demo just feels more ‘real’, you can actually see that the game is running on the hardware before your eyes.

      • ObsessedGeorge

Yeah, i’m with you on that but, if he has a hard time getting the presentation to go as he planned, then i think we can excuse him. He says the guards are unpredictable, that just means that the AI is fantastic.
