MGSV: The Phantom Pain is the best selling PS4 game in Japan, over 425000 copies sold
In an article that celebrates the upcoming two year anniversary of the PlayStation 4 in Japan, magazine Famitsu has published a list with the 20 best selling games on the system. At the very top is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with an impressive 425,971 copies sold. Ground Zeroes sits at number 10 with 155,598 copies sold. Keep in mind that these numbers are only for the PS4 versions (the PS3 version of The Phantom Pain also sold close to a quarter million).

According to Famitsu, the Playstation 4 itself has sold 2,356,098 units as of February 7th (same date goes for the games in the list).
The magazine also posted a timeline of the console’s sales, with some of the most important moments along the way. Not surprisingly, the release of MGSV: The Phantom Pain is one of them.
