The Metal Gear series has reached total sales of 60 million copies as of the end of June 2023, Konami has announced. The company provided the updated number on their official website as part of their latest financial report. This means an additional 200,000 Metal Gear games were sold since their previous number from the end of March.

Next quarter will see the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, a rerelease of the first three Metal Gear Solid games with bonus content. The bundle will be released on October 24 on all platforms. Also in the pipeline is the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, which doesn’t have a release window yet.

In the outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 in their consolidated financial report, Konami writes:

As major new titles to be released for the future, we have several titles in the METAL GEAR series and in the SILENT HILL series, which have received very favorable feedback since announcement of those production. We are working assiduously to produce METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER, which faithfully recreates the story, characters and game design of the original title while evolving the gameplay with modern computer graphics, and to produce a remake and entirely new titles in the
SILENT HILL series. Moreover, we will be drawing more attention to METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1, a first collection of past entries of the METAL GEAR series, as we lead up to its launch.
