Unshō Ishizuka, Japanese voice of Senator Armstrong in Metal Gear Rising, has passed away

Japanese voice actor Unshō Ishizuka passed away earlier this week, on August 13th, due to esophagus cancer. He was known for his work on Pokemon, Tekken, Dragon Ball and Cowboy Bebop (among many others), and he also provided the voice of Senator Steven Armstrong, the main antagonist in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Yes, the guy who said ‘nanomachines, son’ (what’s that in Japanese?). He also provided the voice for Goodluck in the Japanese version of Metal Gear Survive.

Unshō Ishizuka died at the age of 67. He’d been active as a voice actor since 1984.
