I find it weird that they used a semi canon (Portable Ops) game’s art for that.
Yeah. That is a bit weird though. I’m getting it anyway. Shame… Only 1000 copies.
I hope there’s a digital version cuz that shit aint gonna last yo. Knowing Konami’s shift to mobile i doubt they will ever produce more after those 1000 copies.
On the website it says “Representative cover image subject to change.”
The main site says that the cover art is subject to change. I figure they will come up with something a little better before it is released in my opinion.
Why are they using the MPO logo? I mean, MPO’s fine and all, but wouldn’t it make more sense to use the FOX/FOXHOUND logo instead?
The cover may still change. Added to the post.
I hope it does, I like PO kinda but much better things to use
Bought one!
Same 🙂
While I REALLY want this, I’m gonna put my naughty fingers in a vice until someone posts a review. I mean, we know nothing about how this looks inside. “Rare interviews” and “fresh insight” is subjective, especially for long time fans who’ve been absorbing every tidbit for years.
Not related to the post, but with MGSVTPP
This is the logo from the film 1984, from Orwell.
Interesting, uh?
The plot in 1984 film: (From Wikipedia)
Nineteen Eighty-Four, sometimes published as 1984, is a dystopian novel by English author George Orwell published in 1949.[1][2] The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly known as Great Britain), a province of the superstate Oceania in a world of perpetual war, omnipresent government surveillance and public manipulation, dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism (or Ingsoc in the government’s invented language, Newspeak) under the control of a privileged Inner Party elite, that persecutes individualism and independent thinking as “thoughtcrimes”.[3]
The tyranny is epitomised by Big Brother, the quasi-divine Party leader who enjoys an intense cult of personality but who may not even exist. The Party “seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power.”[4] The protagonist of the novel, Winston Smith, is a member of the Outer Party, who works for the Ministry of Truth (or Minitrue), which is responsible for propaganda and historical revisionism. His job is to rewrite past newspaper articles, so that the historical record always supports the party line.[5] Smith is a diligent and skillful worker but he secretly hates the Party and dreams of rebellion against Big Brother.
As literary political fiction and dystopian science-fiction, Nineteen Eighty-Four is a classic novel in content, plot and style. Many of its terms and concepts, such as Big Brother, doublethink, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, Room 101, telescreen, 2 + 2 = 5 and memory hole, have entered everyday use since its publication in 1949. Nineteen Eighty-Four popularised the adjective Orwellian, which describes official deception, secret surveillance and manipulation of recorded history by a totalitarian or authoritarian state.[5] In 2005, the novel was chosen by TIME magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005.[6] It was awarded a place on both lists of Modern Library 100 Best Novels, reaching number 13 on the editor’s list, and 6 on the readers’ list.[7] In 2003, the novel was listed at number 8 on the BBC’s survey The Big Read.[8]

-> 2 + 2 = 5 <-

Enjoy.
to some extent character V from alan moore is living in the same state as well
This theory has been out there for some time now…
Only 1,000? 🙁
I haven’t even played the franchise (save for Ground Zeroes) and I want this.
Edit: never mind, it’s only 1,000 for the special hardcover edition
Not to nerd cred you, but it seems silly to be whining about a franchise you have no particular attachment to (and pleaseeeee don’t explain why it means a lot even though you haven’t played it-you’ve had nearly a decade since even 4 came out)
There was an edit for a reason. I realized that only the hardcover edition was limited, and I wasn’t going to buy it anyway. I don’t see why you had to be like that. I never said it means a lot to me, and I haven’t played it mainly because I never cared to own a PlayStation console.
Ur not a real fan, hurr durr
B8 R8: 4/10
Nope, 4/20
knew it was coming
Damn, I hate that some sites link your account to other DISQUS sites but won’t let you change your name so it can be the same across all sites. I always end up looking at notifications and replying on the other linked account.
Real or not real ? who cares…
Let’s hope this is good. Nice and cheap though
bought it
Awesome, I will buy it tomorrow if it’s still available lol. 🙂
Got mine in
This got me thinking, and I’m sure some of you will relate… I know more about MGS story than the actual real world story. I understand this world back and forward with both eyes closed and I could probably wich game is being played hearing just one piece of conversation, just a phrase maybe. Is that a good or a bad thing? XD
Shamless Plug for the panel I hosted at fanime 2015. I hope they have the Integral Interview.

Ehh if it’s not on Amazon no thanks
“The ruse cruise: How MGS’s marketing destroyed everyone’s sense of reality”
They are probably referring to Moby Dick Studios and Joakim Mogren. And about the older games, such as MGS2 (where Raiden was kept a secret).
Sure.
But my point is, even in this book, they talk about how much “troll” Kojima could be.
Konami against Kojima? P.T. cancelled? P.T. removed? Everyone (Del Toro and Reedus) talking about it except Kojima? The head transplant? too much weird stuff…
The situation at Konami is very unlikely to be a ruse, since it caused a lot of unrest for the company and their shareholders. Kojima is probably under some kind of NDA, so that’s why he can’t talk about it. And the head transplant was already confirmed to have nothing to do with MGSV, right?
but if Kojima is undera NDA (I supose this is something about the contract and silence) why the other two could talk about?
Sorry, I’ve just seen this video and I can’t keep question things xDD

Because neither Reedus nor Del Toro work for Konami.
Could have picked some Yoji Shinkawa art for the cover, at least…
Bought it ;), forgot to do it few days ago.
Pre orderd the hardback cover edition, I can’t freakin wait to get this!
Detailed look, page by page…
