Metal Gear Online will support 16 players on PS4, Xbox One and PC, 12 on PS3 and Xbox 360
Metal Gear Online will support up to 16 players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and up to 12 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This has been detailed on the game’s official Japanese website, and confirmed by the developer’s via Twitter. Earlier the developers revealed the game will allow you to play custom matches with 1v1 up to 8v8 players, but this suggests that the last two options (7v7 and 8v8) are only for the newer systems.
Metal Gear Online will come bundled with every copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain when it launches in September.

If this Skype call is real then one of the two things below is true:
1- Either the doctor is an idiot.
2- This is one big PR stunt.
Did the person who called him tell the doctor that he character is based off Ian Moore, and that the fact he also happens to look like Canavero is most likely just a coincidence?
I have been thinking about Ian Moore and Canavero and I think both might be onto this one. The whole “FOX vs XOF”, “From FOX, two phantoms were born” and the mirroring of text and objects might be related to this. “Doctor vs Doctor”. The question is, why? What’s the significance of all this?

Yea that part is key to all this. If the Skype call actually took place and the doctor did actually say that, then we can safely assume that he has some kind of an insider knowledge of the game’s plot and that this might indeed be one big PR stunt.
Either the redditor is making stuff up or the doctor got the wrong information.
Agreed and if head transplant is indeed part of TPP plot then does that mean that can be some truth the the whole crazy theories of “Big Boss is not Big Boss” or “Big Boss is Grey fox” or any other variation?
Perhaps, but there are no indications TPP will feature head transplants. Only one who said that is this doctor, but from his other replies it looks like he knows nothing about this game and hasn’t heard of it before.

Konami or Kojima hasn’t given us any solid info of head transplants happening in TPP, well of course they wouldn’t if it does. But it’s just mostly false info and speculation by fans.
Kojima is a genius and can think of using phantom pain theme in his game by himself, instead of copying the doctors work. I like to think this is mostly just a big coincidence. But gotta be prepared for any surprises though :P, because of Kojima’s style of revealing stuff in the past. Like Moby Dick Studios trailer etc and that 5 year ago twitter post is kinda weird too.
Maybe we fans are mostly overreacting about all this and thinking too much, because of Kojima’s godlike past reveals and the few coincidences this stuff has. It’s what we like to do when waiting for our masterpiece game, thinking of all sorts of possibilities related to TPP. Or then there is really something going on, but I doubt it and like to keep my thoughts on E3.
I did miss that quote Sn4ke posted below, where Canavaro claimed that. Maybe he said it or not, if he said it then maybe it was a mistake from the Doc or misunderstanding by the redditor when he wrote the post. I dunno :).
Would Kojima really go this far before TPP release, to plan something like this and for what reason?
Anyway, back on topic! I thought the player limit would be same for all platforms, but I guess I was wrong :). I’m sure 8vs8 or 6vs6 will both give amazing experiences. They must’ve tested all this so MGO can run smoothly on older consoles, which is a good thing ofc.

I remember reading about the taboo subject, but I always associated it with the child soldiers we see in the trailers, i remember being some commotion about it when it was revealed in the same way that people were angry as how Quiet was dressed

It seems that way in the trailers when Kaz kicks one of the kids with the crutch. I actually thought that the child soldiers would be a buddy like Quiet or DD.
The child soldiers has been the taboo thing in my opinion too, or then it is something Kojima has kept hidden from us.

Yes and I don’t think Kojima would overlook anything of that sort anyway. I think they spend more money on research than anything else.

As far as we know from official sources, and wasn’t that specified for MGO, not necessarily for TPP?
I would think Kojima atleast wants to give us co-op free-roaming or maybe even MP free-roaming considering how much praise he gave GTA V when it released, and unless I’ve missed something, it’s not 100% denied yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see, after all, The Best Is Yet To Come 😉

I really doubt TPP would have total free roam multiplayer without it having been mentioned this far in development. Though keep in mind that there are multiplayer features for Mother Base (infiltration, interaction, etc.)

Online – Nope, just matches.
I know people may say gta 5 did it.. but the thing is that GTA had a different look at free roam.. this game is different and is mainly a stealth/shooter game.. so yea.. different.. would be good though 🙂
Yeah,imagine you can free roam in open world with other players and fight with them or just do missions together.Oh well not gonna happen 🙂
Fighting them is one thing but as a single player type, i really hope all missions are strictly SP.. dont get me wrong, i hope MGO has missions like VR trainings.. but for the single player, i’d take SP only because i think that mp sometimes cuts out the immersion… especially the way people play now-a-days, no back up, no co-ordination, no allignment.. nothing..everyone goes all bezerk COD style.. :/

if the maps are the same size for both generations, than i don’t get it, why the last gens have 2 player less.
Im guessing the made the players less because they wanted to keep the maps the same size ..which imo is the best decision. Id rather have 6v6 in a nice map than 8v8 is a cut-version of a good map :/
