Metal Gear series sells over 33 million units
Along the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection Konami made another announcement. The Metal Gear series has now sold over 33 million games worldwide. From Konami’s press release:
The METAL GEAR SOLID series is the seminal work of Hideo Kojima, Japan’s master game creator, and the progenitor of the stealth action game genre. With more than 33 million units sold to date, the METAL GEAR series has become a global phenomenon.
Now, more than 25 years after the first game, the series still manages to create buzz and excitement in the gaming community. Currently Hideo Kojima is working on an open world Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
