New domain name: MetalGearInformer.com
You may have noticed the site’s new domain name: www.metalgearsolid.nl is now www.metalgearinformer.com.
Why the change?
There are two important reasons for the new domain name:
- To switch to a .com extension. The .com extension is the most common extension on the web. This gives it a lot of advantages when it comes to search engines and browsers. But more importantly, it makes more sense than the .nl extension used previously. Since the site is in English and aimed at an international audience, it just seems more logical.
- To give the site a name. Previously, the site had a domain address, and it had a logo. But there was no single, encapsulating name. This causes confusion, and creates a lack of ‘identity’. In the current situation, domain name, logo and site name are all consistent.
The name change does not reflect a change of content. Everything else will stay the same, and the website will continue on like it used to.
Just be sure to update your bookmarks!

i’m glad the community is starting to grow, though we really need more members and coverage like Kojima’s Podcast.
well i’m still on the beginner level of Japanese(i understand some of the words and sentence structure), but yeah hopefully if i master this i would be able to help you in translating some of the scans and tweets of Kojima of future MGS games(if there is gonna be one, at least a Kojima one)
also if MGSV were to be Kojima’s last MGS game for awhile and started working on new franchise like Zone of the Enders or the game with Suda51 and 5pb, will you be covering those games as well?
If you would be able to help out with Japanese, that would be great!
And to answer your other question: I guess I’ll see when the moment is here. But this if mainly a MGS (and Kojima) focused site, so it doesn’t really cover stuff like Zone of the Enders. And Metal Gear in all likelihood will live on, with or without Kojima (hopefully with him).

tbh i’m interested on what Kojima does next that isn’t MGS, and a MGS game without Kojima.
i enjoyed Portable Ops, and is currently my favorite game in terms of storyline(though the game was monitored by Kojima once again)
Yeah but to be honest, I think Kojima will make another Metal Gear game after MGSV. He really seems interested in creating a game about The Boss.

He talked about this a few times, but most notable is during the video that they released when Metal Gear Rising was handed over to Platinum Games.
Kojima said he had several plans for a game featuring The Boss and the Cobra Unit during World War II (the invasion of Normandy).
He wanted the team to create the game, but they didn’t dare to touch this character without his help (this was as early as summer 2008, not long after MGS4 was finished).
After that, Kojima mentioned a Boss game several times more during interviews.
