New Phantom Pain images and info – Fox Engine, next trailer at GDC
During an interview conducted by Geoff Keighley for GTTV, some new information about The Phantom Pain was shared. Joakim Mogren announced that a new trailer will be shown at the GDC 2013, which will supposedly answer all of our questions. His head was wrapped in bandages during the interview (in the same way as one of the characters in the trailer), and according to Mogren he had a ‘little accident’, but should be good by GDC.
We also know that The Phantom Pain is running on the Fox Engine (some more evidence that this is a Kojima related project). Joakim Mogren did not want to say if this is a next gen game, and if it would be released for the newly announced PlayStation 4.
Some new artworks and screens were shown by Joakim Mogren on his iPad. It is in these pictures that the Fox Engine logo is visible in the lower right corner.
You can see the full (just over three minute) Joakim Mogren interview here.

What do you think about Mogren being CG? I don’t think so. I mean, FOX engine looks great, but it can’t be ‘Mogren great’!!
It sounds a little far-fetched I must say.
That’s what your mind is trying to tell you, because it is too good to be true, right? Guess we’re going to wait and see.
I got my money on CGI. Who wants to set up a bet with a paypal account? But really, watch the interview again on the highest settings (I know that isn’t that good), and just watch his disembodied neck bob around the screen. And didn’t they say they were in a hotel room? Then why’s the background so dark, when the interviewer is just a few feet away with lights on him? Just my two cents.
If he is rendered by the Fox Engine, then Kojima has made the impossible, possible…Again! 🙂
Ok, now its official. It’s metal gear related. There were a lot of proofs, but the fox logo pretty much confirms it. Also, is it coincidential that there’ll be a trailer at GDC? i dont think so…
Kojima is THE man. That is all.
Just watched the trailer. He is a bad actor, but not CG. If you recall, Kojima has said that all numbered Metal Gear games will be made by KojiPro. Perhaps the phantom pain and ground zeros are the same title.
But man, is he a bad actor. This is clearly some sort of stunt/ruse.
