Retail versions of Ground Zeroes for PS4 and Xbox One confirmed, final box art released

The word is out: retail versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also be available in the west, when the game launches on March 20th of next year (March 18 in the US and March 21 in the UK).

This was reported on the official Konami website for the UK.

“It has now also been revealed that Xbox One and PlayStation®4 versions will be made available in retail stores for £39.99, or can be downloaded for £29.99.”

Good news for those who prefer to have a physical copy over a digital download. Please note that so far it’s only been confirmed for Europe, but it seems likely the retail versions will come to the US as well.

Update: Konami has confirmed the PS4 and Xbox One retail versions will come to the United States as well (costing $39.99, and $29.99 for a digital copy).

Konami also released the final (PAL) box art of the game:

As you can see, Kaz has been removed from the cover (as Kojima talked about in an earlier interview, since Kaz isn’t popular enough in the west) and replaced by an image of Camp Omega.

Update: Looks like the retail versions will include additional content:

Nyxus that’s for Europe only. Nothing has been confirmed for NA, yet. The prices are either in UK pound or Euros, I don’t see $.

I assume it will come to the US as well, but I added it just in case.

It’s not bad, but I would have preferred Shinkawa art.

Let’s hope NA’s boxart is a Shinkawa one.

I don’t know, compared to past ones it certainly is bad, on its own merits.. I don’t know, exceptionally mediocre at best

Hm, I don’t think so, could be because I like the art. But a Shinkawa art would have been better, hopefully they will do that for The Phantom Pain at least.

Too bad they took Kaz out of the cover. I don’t think that the fact that Kojima believes that people won’t recognize him is a good reason.

What a lame shopped. Hopefully the US cover will be different.

Man, the price of the retail version is high I think. 40 euros for a next gen prologue? I thought that 30 euros was perfect for what it offered, but the 40 euros is getting a bit far I believe. Not that I’m not getting it, I’m just saying.

Damn it’s to bad they don’t have kaz on the cover I really don’t think it would effect the sales of the game hopefully you can at least turn it around and have kaz like they did with the mass effect cover

    ehh it sucks tbh.

    reminds me of NA MGS4.

would have prefer the Shinkawa art, but it’s a shame the JPN version is also using the same cover but with Miller.

and what no Miller?!?, another stupid thing they have done. why remove the guy?
