See how Quiet and Code Talker from Metal Gear Solid V were created
One of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s new characters introduced in the E3 trailers is a female sniper named Quiet. This character was created by 3D scanning an actual person. Kojima posted some photos that show the process.
“Making of Quiet in MGSV. Done 3D capture shooting on both face w / & w / O make UPS, body, & Arms & legs separately.”
“We did Also 3D capture Miss Stephanie, the Actor for Quiet in MGSV, both her face and body.”
As usual with Metal Gear, there were also military training sessions.
Some people may remember the photos Kojima posted in 2012, when he was testing 3D capture with the actress.
“Stephanie with a gun. Testing This was only but was good reason to build Our Own 3D Studio cap.”
Back then Kojima Productions were shooting in an external studio, but it seems like they have their own now.
Also, in order to create the character Code Talker, They used a Hollywood actor and a special makeup artist who also worked on the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”.
“Code Talker in MGSV, Actor Hired to make it Mold & Sculpture. Asked Special makeup Artist in Hollywood for this.”
“We asked to create Code Talker to the special makeup artist who has done “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” for example.”

Well, watching the trailer I would say that Code Talker’s character model looked quite bad, poor texturing. Hope they fix it, certainly doesn’t match the realism which the rest of the characters in the trailer had.

she will be voicing both english and japanese and motion capture as well.
She looks adorable. I really like her character so far. Sadly it’ll be difficult for Quiet to be in other installments of the saga since it’s pretty much coming full circle.

Im shocked how she could hold a machine gun….. ow, light weight plastic, all right. At least in the game she looks tuff, unlike this fragile real life woman.
