Some new Metal Gear Survive footage and screenshots

Konami has released some new brief gameplay videos for Metal Gear Survive. In the first one, we can see the Walker Gear in action, taking out creatures at a fast pace.

The other video shows mission results and bonuses. Each player is given a clear rank indicating their degree of contribution to the mission. As you can see, the top player receives extra weapons.

In addition, here are some screenshots that Konami has been sharing on their channels over the last few days, showing the Mist World, the Wormhole Digger, and a whole bunch of Wanderers:

I refuse to buy this garbage. MGS was once a great series. Thanks for ruining it Konami.

I’m going to be honest. After dozens of hours in MGSV I got kind of sick of the environment. Not very stimulating watching various shades of brown and green, made me really appreciate buildings and indoor settings. It’s more exciting to experience the close quarters combat in a tight almost claustrophobic setting with plenty of blind spots. It really makes you use all the tools at your disposal. I think that’s what made MGS3 so great and could have benefited form the FOX Engine. The jungle setting would have been very promising having AI who wasn’t just patrolling, but could also make use of camo and hide. The controls from MGSV would have been perfect too. Sadly there weren’t that many places in Africa where you could feel what it would be like to have MGS3 on the FOX E., but I could picture it. I know it’s never going to happen, nobody at Konami is going to put the effort to make good use of that engine. It’s evident with this game. It truly seems like a DLC for the existing game. No imagination, just reuse a bunch of assets and shuffle things around. I’m not buying the game so whatever, but I am going to follow news on how it does. I want to know if Konami is going to get it’s shit together or if this will be the final nail in the coffin for them to get out of the video game business.

MGS V should have gotten the hate more then this, it was an unfinished garbage, and pointless game, yet people brought it.

      • Yet this game uses it as a foundation. Also, what a complete exaggeration.

          • No it wasn’t. It’s fine if you were disappointed but it was in no way a bad game.

      • Robin030

Well i would’nt go as far as to call it garbage… but it was def unfinished

Feels like some kind of motorbike protection shell or something.. He is probably trolling around playing with it the sneaking suit way… 😀
Or maybe they are going to scan it… Perhaps we’ll also control a motorbike in DS… ;D

      • Yeah if you google the brand (Komine) you get protective motorcycle gear. What’s puzzling is the attachment to his spine on the second picture…

BTW, anyone else thought of the original Metal Gear Rising logo for a second, looking at the Komine logo? 😛

        • This reminded me of MGS4 futuristic armor that FROGS had. The attachment to me looks like a microphone… I don’t know. Wut is dis?

Kojima is teasing us? Ahhh I need to KNOW! I want dat trailer!

Perhaps some stuff to keep the helmet somehow attached to it, given that violent shocks can have you loose your helmet in some cases…

Regarding the logo the fonts are close … But yeah, maybe Kojima used Komine’s protection gears also for inspiration when designing Raiden’s gear ?? ;D
          Makes a lot of sense..

It’s a suport for something on the Mo-Caop suit, something we haven’t seen used in gaming as far as we know.

;D Yeah, I mean Geoff choosing to add this specific Boss’s “One more thing…” quote at the end, precisely at the moment he was leaving the stage faking he had nothing else to show… xDxD

These screenshots look promising, but no matter how well it performs, critically and commercially, it would not be the same Metal Gear we all fell in love with. But I’ll give it a chance when the price drops.

Sorry, but that isn’t Metal Gear. Why even make something like this if the core gameplay isn’t even stealth? I don’t get it.

To be fair, we’ve already had three card-based strategy games in the Metal Gear series, as well as a digital graphic novel, a Duck Hunt-esque shooter, and a character action game. I get that this isn’t an appealing prospect for a lot of MGS fans, but it’s not exactly unprecedented for MGS spin-offs to have different gameplay from the main series.

      • People are angry that this spin-off does not share much with the original setting or the universe. A Duck Hunt-esque shooter on the other hand shared a lot in common with the original games in terms of story and characters.

George wasn’t talking about story or characters.

“Sorry, but that isn’t Metal Gear. Why even make something like this if the core gameplay isn’t even stealth? I don’t get it.”

George’s complaint stems solely from gameplay.

Because Gameplay wise, MG is about Fighting a Metal Gear in the third act.
If in this game we don’t fight a Metal Gear, i will be disappointed.

That reveal trailer did hint at a large-scale crystal zombie thing. Guess that might stand in for a Metal Gear, unless they just re-use Sahelanthropus because they don’t care.

Honestly, I expect they’ll re-use the basic moveset of Sahelanthropus with maybe a couple new attacks and a modified model.

That would be nice, however, i would love to fight Rey in this one, it fits with the theme of being Underwater.

Technically, Kojima will show him gameplay
at TGA :^) (hopefully, please, it’s been a year since the last damn cutscene after all)
