Two new Solid Snake figures revealed: Nendoroid and Figma
During the latest episode of Japanese Kojima Station, two new Solid Snake figures were shown.
The Nendoroid Solid Snake, created by Good Smile Company, was announced earlier this year. On the right of the photo below you can see how the figure turned out.
Secondly, a MGS2 Solid Snake figure in the Figma line by Max Factory, which can be seen on the left. It will also be on display at Wonder Festival 2014, taking place on July 27th in Japan.

I’m not a huge fan of back stands for figures but they look nice never the less, I am personally a fan of figures that don’t move aka statues. Also that Nendoroid cigarette!
The more I look at the MGS2 Figma figure unpainted, the more it looks like it jumped straight out of ghost in the shell 2, hurry up and paint the figure it looks kinda creepy unpainted.
Want that Figma, can’t wait for color pics!
I’m glad they are going with the figma joints for the wrists. The peg hands didn’t feet too sturdy in previous figmas specially holding weapons. I just wish it was the MGS1 sneaking suit. Also that Nendroid snake has an extra body for crawling and another pair of legs for kneeling. It looks super badass.
Actually, looking more closely, you can see the the legs on the Nendoroid Solid Snake has bendable knees and movable legs.
Price: 100000000000 yen
Figmas are in the 60-70 dollars range, most of the time.
The Revos cost like 50 and the PAKs like 150, so I’d say is fair enough for the quality.

At the very below of the article it says 17th March 2015, but it was removed pretty soon. I wouldn’t be too surprised if it actually is the official release date for TPP. I’ve been hoping it to be 1 year from Ground Zeroes all the time, especially after the GZ DLC info “Early 2015 to claim” thing ;D. Any longer wait, will probably kill me because of all the excitement.
The release date sounds about right with what we know, but yeah I agree with what you said, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the release date, but you can never be 100% certain, this just seems like a very likely release date……. HOPE!
Sure enough, it lines up with the Konami Core webpage saying “come back early 2015 for blah blah blah” when you input the codes from Ground Zeroes

Then again, he holds it like this in MGS4 during loading times and all.
These figures look great! I can’t wait till they come out, so I could buy a shit ton of those Figma Solid Snakes!

Just saw the same thing from N4G site :D, lets hope so! I remember reading a little over a year ago, that it might be in 2015 or 2016 lol, but I mean come on 2016 is too late! It must be in March 2015 O_O ! But I am also glad that Kojima-san is taking his time to polish and create the perfect game for us. The last thing he should do is give release date too early, just to delay the release for later day if not finished in time.
you are right! that would be horrible if they announce it and then re-schedule it again.
I really don’t understand the mechanisms behind “leaks” like this. Did Konami give out the date on purpose, just to “pull” it later on? It really does not seem like a real accident, more like a planned PR stunt, don’tcha think?

I bet the guy in charge of the graphics just googled child soldiers and and got this image LOL. But I like to think it was most likely deliberate, like YOLO deliberate.
This was hilarious to read lol, and finally game graphics become so real that we can’t tell what is reality and what is not. Only the godlike Kojima-san can accomplish this in games!

By the way, found this nice image while killing time in the web. 10 years difference, pretty amazing how far the graphics have gone in that time with MGS. At the same time, I think MGS3 has aged well in my opinion. Still enjoy playing it a lot.

It’s awesome! I’ve always noticed that MGS games’ graphics were always ahead of their time and MGS3 is a perfect example of superb engineering and story telling.

jesus, a couple of years ago we didn’t have many choices when it came to MGS figures, and look at this now, there’s a lot to choose from, i’m thinking it might be better to stick with figma now rather than revoltech… i did only like their solid snake, but i’m not a big fan of that scale, and i guess figma will keep on making more MGS figures now, i wasn’t expecting this but it’s great news, figma has always been superior when it comes to human characters, i prefer revoltech only for mechas (and for me, mechas means only evangelion)
