Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions coming to PSN US

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions will be released on the PlayStation Network next week. Originally released in 1999 for PlayStation, MGS: VR Missions, or Special Missions as it was called in Europe, was an expansion to Metal Gear Solid containing 300 challenges as well as bonus content. In Japan it wsa bundled with Metal Gear Solid Integral, the game’s re-release.

Now Konami is bringing the expansion to PlayStation 3’s digital store. This concerns the US store, since they have already been released on the European PSN earlier this year.

this might be off the topic, but are you posting an article about snake being confirmed in SSB wii U if that might happen? Snake is my favorite character in the SSB series.

    • Nyxus

Yeah, I’ll probably do that if he is confirmed. But I’m not sure if they’re bringing him back.

      • William of Orange

Well, that would be a downer. He was a unique character in the ssb roster.

        • Janeo

Yeah well hopefully they can get big boss in since snake eater was just on 3ds, snake was so cool to play as so gotta hope

          • William of Orange

There were different skins for snake in ssbb that resembled some suits from mgs 3. So the only thing they have to add is an eyepatch. And maybe a new move and a new final smash, because you remember that scene in mgs 1,2,3,4,po,pw where snake used a grenade launcher while hanging onto a ladder? Neither did I.

          • Janeo

Yeah I liked the move though but it would be nice to have something he does in the games

          • William of Orange

And maybe that’s the problem, snake doesn’t have a signature move, aside from the tranquilizer gun and cqc.
You what would be cool? If you obtain the smash ball, snake becomes temporarily invincible (similar to rob) and starts making agressive cqc combos (like in the tgs 2013 special from mgs v gz).

          • Janeo

Yes that’s a very cool idea I actually really like that

          • NegaScott128

If Solid Snake comes back, he should have a new Final Smash where he pilots REX like in MGS4. Big Boss could call in an airstrike, or maybe pilot ZEKE.

          • William of Orange

I thought about that too! But what I don’t get is why the guys behind ssb came up with that. This makes way more sense!
Zeke could be a assist trophy or psycho mantis, who will switch characters among the other players who didn’t obtain the assist trophy. Or fortune, fury, sorrow, solidus, just to name a few.Btw: if you had the chance to add an another mgs character to the ssb roster, who would it be?

          • NegaScott128

I’d probably add Raiden, because he’s different enough from any of the Snakes to be a unique character. But, since he was in Playstation All-Stars, that probably won’t happen. I guess you’d have to add Big Boss, but he’d just end up being a clone of Solid Snake (which would be oddly fitting, really). Maybe just replace Solid with Big Boss.

          • William of Orange

Give him a eyepatch and tadaa, big boss! Raiden is a good choice, but ( like you mentioned in your comment) he is part of the all stars series. I would love to see Ocelot, he knows a few moves and his csaa’s are freakin’ lethal! His final smash: he starts to fan (revolver technique that increases the fire rate) and blasts everyone off the screen who dares to stand in his line of fire.

already got it from the Legacy Collection, but it’s good to finally be able to buy it separately ^^
