Details on MGSV: Ground Zeroes watch and Metal Gear Rising pendants
Here are a few more details on some recently announced Metal Gear merchandise, the Wired Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Limited Edition watch, and the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Pendants, both available at the Japanese Konami Style store.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Limited Edition Watch:
- Comes with a metal plate with drawings by Yoji Shinkawa
- The color resembles the Sneaking Suit
- The bezel design and chronograph resemble ‘sophisticated weapons’
- The zero at the top of the display refers to the name of the game, and you can also find exclamation marks
- Only 1300 were made, serial number is on the back of the box
- The strap can be adjusted by removing segments
- Comes with a message card from Shinkawa
- Price is 36750 Yen
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Pendants:
- Made under supervision of Shinkawa
- The pendants are made of rhodium, silver and carbon fiber
- They are supposed to be futuristic dog tags
- There are two versions: men’s and ladies’. The look quite similar but the ladies’ version is a bit smaller and lighter, and a bit cheaper
- Prices are 38850 and 33600 Yen respectively

Yeah, you need a deep wallet for these items.
If they had re-issued the Digiborg watch worn by Big Boss in the E3 trailer, I would buy it. This thing is just pedestrian by comparison.
How many Dollars its 36750 Yen?
About 360 if I’m not mistaken.
Is the watch even water proof?
I’d rather want the digital seiko watch that snake was wearing in the e3 trailer.
(they should make that watch water proof too)
Yeah it would be nice if they released that vintage Seiko watch from the E3 trailer. But it would be even more expensive, I’d say.
Anyway, the price of the GZ watch is the same as the Rising watch, it costs a lot because it’s Seiko, it’s Shinkawa and it’s Konamistyle. 🙂 Those 3 names together can never mean “cheap”. 😉
Yet, people seem to think it’s worth the price, because the watch was sold out in a week or so.
