Kojima shows Skull Face and Quiet figures (work in progress)

Kojima posted some photos on his Twitter of MGSV figures from Play Arts that are still in the making. One of them is Skull Face (or rather, his head), which was shown earlier, but there is also a new addition: a Quiet figure equipped with a sniper rifle.

Quiet looks really creepy in the second picture. Her face looks amazing, but those boobs are looking a bit out of scale.Does she store rifle mags in there or something?

    • Nyxus

Play Arts figures always have exaggerated proportions. For example, their Big Boss and Raiden are as muscular as Arnold Schwarzenegger.

      • César H. Sandoval

It’s even funnier when you see Quiet’s mocap actress, she’s small as hell in the chest area, the game and the figure are really “upgrading” her in that sense.

The Fox Engine can do wonders!

          • Nekkedsnake

            Hahaha touche!

          • William of Orange

I really want to know how Stephanie Joosten got the part of Quiet. I mean, I certainly have never heard of her.

      • Nekkedsnake

same thing happened with the PAK Meryl proto, exaggerated proportions. I have the retail version, great figure!

The only thing that’s recognizable about her is her pointy boobs and the tank top and that’s about it. She looks pretty cool, though.

          • Nekkedsnake

i really wanna add Quiet and Big Boss to my already existing meager collection..

Woah, nice collection! I’m impressed, not that i’m a fan of figurines. Btw, is the soldier in proning position at the right bottom a GI Joe figurine?

          • Nekkedsnake

thanks! that’s actually an old photo too. i’ve added some other stuff since then, like oldskool transformers and volition toys, as well as those new TMNT toys. those 2 bottom figures aren’t actually GI JOE, but are 1/6″ TRUETYPE figures usually used to “kit bash” your own figures. you can switch the heads with different toys. I bought two of them with the idea of kitbashing Young Ocelot from MGS3. I’ve yet to do that, hah. the bottom center figure is called METALBOSS from a company called InFlames. it’s a sort of chinese knockoff of Big Boss from Hot Toys. I actually like this one better because Boss’ sneaking suit looks like a mix between PW sneaking suit, battle armor suit, and Batman’s suit from the Bale movies.

Cool, those true type figurines reminds me of the Action Man figurines from the 90’s and the 00’s.Oh, good times, I tell ya!

          • Nekkedsnake

i hear u! since i was born in 79 i grew up on 80s toys. the old voltron, transformers, gobots, robotech, bionic 6, MASK, he-man, my little pony [huh??], tmnt, LEGO, GI JOE, everything hasbro and mattel. miss the good ole days!

          • William of Orange

Haha, this might come as a surprise to you, but I’m from ’96. I grew up with the Action Man tv series,TMNT reboot from 00’s,Transformers Armada,Lego Bionicle,Hot wheels,uhm.. Yu gi oh,DBZ and GT,Gundam (can’t remember which series),bobobo…probably a whole lot more tv shows and toys.

          • Nekkedsnake

            96… man i was 16! ah to be 18 again…

DBZ!! good stuff. same w gundam, patlabor, akira, ranma 1/2, naruto, ghost in the shell, appleseed, there’re just too many! ok ok sailor moon and pokemon while i was getting ready for school haha.

btw if you still watch DBZ here is a good place to stream the whole friggin collection:

            http://www.dbz.tv/3/

            other stuff there too.

          • William of Orange

Pokemon, I never played the games, but GOD was I a fan of the series. I mean, until master quest that is. Ok, I also watched sailor moon as a 7 year old, but that’s about it. I’m not really into anime as I used to, I tried to watch one season of Naruto, but I was quickly bored by it.But anime films from Studio Ghibli are amazing. Uhm.. What about videogames? I was 2 years old when mgs1 came out, so I obviously played the game when I was about 15. I grew up with ratchet and clank, (im looking at my game collection now), rayman, mario, gran turismo, halo,NFS,FIFA,Burnout, spyro, transformers (PS2,Atari),uhm…
Damn, so many things, it’s amazing to explain things from the past from your own perspective, for example: I cried when Gary beated Ash in the very last episode of master quest, while you would have been like:’whatever’ and changed the channel.

          • Nekkedsnake

ditto on pokemon. watched it after school. didn’t play em tho. games wise… i played on atari 2600, friggin vectrex was cool, sega master system… i was on pong, cosmic chasm, packman, then nes with mario 1-3, duck hunt, tysons punch out, tmnt megaman, snes had me on sf2, mario world, axelay, cybernator, mk1-3, genesis with all sonics, phantasy star 2, streets of rage1-3, golden axe1-3. didn’t get a psx or ps2. got ps3 fat then was able to play mgs1, syphon filter 2, re1, mgs2 [which actually is what started me on MGS in the first place], mgs3, subsistence, mg1, mg2, ghost babel, mgs4, wii had me on mario galaxy1-2, sw force unleashed, ben 10, new smb, etc.

nowadays i have a huge backlog of games don’t have time for on my PS3 [disc, digital], 360, GameCube, PSP, Gameboy SP, 3DS, iphone, HTC One. i am a self admitted game hoarder, hahah.

            http://nekkedsnake.wordpress.com/2013/12/12/thats-what-she-said/

          • William of Orange

It’s a treasure room, damn. I need a moment.. Just …..wow! Man, I wonder if you will ever actually beat all the games you currently possess. Kinda jealous at the moment!

          • Nekkedsnake

Not. Even. Close… hahah.. there’s just not enough time, especially with my 15 month old son. but i’m kinda collecting games, used and new, so that i can introduce healthy gaming for him when he gets older. then we can play together. once he gets old enough i’m giving him my 360, 2nd PSP, and 2nd Gameboy SP.

i still have to beat Uncharted 3 actually.. then on to Last Of Us, Deus Ex Human Rev, Remember Me, oh geez.. Splinter Cell Conviction on 360… sigh.. hahah.. Oh and i have stuff on my Mac too… DXHR, arkham 1-2, half life 1-2, portal, L4D, counter strike, team fortress2, walking dead, KOTOR 1-2, GTA3, shadowrun returns, XCOM, Baldur’s Gate 1-2, sf4, lego star wars complete saga, limbo, Marathon 1-3..

            HELP! hahaha…

          • William of Orange

Hahah, btw congrats! Well, at least your son has something to look out for! You haven’t played the last of us yet? Great game, but I personally think that its a bit overrated. Btw, May I ask you what your son’s name is?

          • Nekkedsnake

thanks! i really have to get on LOU (last of us)… his name is Jacob.

          • William of Orange

Jacob… A great name and it’s got a nice ring to it. Damn,I’ve honestly never talked so much about myself to a sort of stranger as I do now.thanks for that! And this might be a bit too personal, but what’s the reason for you and your wife to call your son Jacob?

          • Nekkedsnake

it’s a strong, respectable name hehehe. Team Jacob! plus you’re welcome. it’s cool just to talk shop about similar interests with anyone. especially when it comes to METAL…? GEAR…! I’ma make my kid into an MGS fan, hahah. and enjoy the DBZ stuffs bro, cheers!

          • William of Orange

Thanks and cheers to you as well!

          • Nyxus

Wow, that must have cost you an arm and an leg. Even your fingers. Very nice!

          • Nekkedsnake

hahaha close! i bought them over time, while bargain hunting. i also added the Revoltech Naked Snake to this collection. I wanted to start collecting the PAK MGS2 figures Raiden and Solidus but those proved to be pretty pricy for my current budget. also, PAK Liquid Snake looks good.

          • Nyxus

I don’t have any Play Arts figures, but I do have some cheap ones by Yamato, a couple of Medicom 20th Anniversary figures and a fairly large Liquid Snake doll.

          • William of Orange

I used to compete with my soccer team in this so called PlayStation soccer tournament in gelderland which was basically a marketing stunt from sony. During the break, people could play ps2/PS3 games and there were these lifesize jin,jak and,,,,you probably guessed it.. Solid Snake (mgs 2) statues.

    • Nekkedsnake

I really would love to add Quiet to my toy collection tho. they just need to make her boobs a bit more “Realistic” in proportion.

      • William of Orange

Well, either they reduce the size of her breasts or they enlarge her head and neck for a bit. I’m starting to think that her torso and her limbs are fine, but her head is a bit too small. in the second pic, her head and her bikini
( the tightness of that bikini reminds of naked snake’s suspenders in mgs 3 if you take of his clothes) probably gives the illusion of her having preposterous boobs.

  • Revenge of Anonymous

    I can’t tell who’s uglier

  • flying_fox

Not a fan of this one…

  • PrinceHeir
