Metal Gear Online Servers Closing Today
On the day of the 4th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Konami is closing the servers of Metal Gear Online. The separately playable online segment shipped with each copy of the aforementioned game.
Konami announced the closing of the servers earlier this year. In Japan, various events and competitions were held leading up to the finale of the online multiplayer game.
A sequel to Metal Gear Online hasn’t been announced so far, so it’s unclear what the future holds for the multiplayer component for the Metal Gear series.

This is messed up. imo, It’s still too early for them to shutdown. I thought the money Konami got from the expansion packs and gear customization would provide them with some revenue to keep the servers going (not to mention MGS4 sales).
Either there was a very low demand or they are just being greedy.
