The Metal Gear Solid V Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Bundle is coming to Europe, Australia and New Zealand
Great news for Metal Gear fans in the PAL region: the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Bundle that was previously only announced for Asia is officially coming to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The bundle includes a special edition console with 500 GB harddrive, controller, the Day One Edition of the game, and a special theme. It will be available in limited quantities, so better act fast once the pre orders open.
The official press release states:
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has announced it’s highly anticipated METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN title will be the subject of a Limited Edition PlayStation®4 Console Bundle on September 1st.
A special agreement between KONAMI and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), a division of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., the branded console will be released concurrently with METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN. The bundle will include the PlayStation®4 (PS4™) computer entertainment system with 500GB hard disk drive (HDD) and the Wireless Controller (DUALSHOCK®4), both in their special METAL GEAR SOLID V design, and the METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN DAY 1 EDITION software title for PS4™. The bundle will be available in a limited quantity.
The PS4 system included in the bundle comes in a special deep red colour with gold line detail, inspired by the look of Snake’s ‘Bionic Arm’ in the game. The DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller is a metallic grey colour, resembling the handgun held by Snake. Both the PS4 system and the DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller feature the unit emblem of Diamond Dogs, a private military initiative led by Snake. The product also includes a METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN special theme for PS4™.

Well they are going to announce 1TB PS4 at e3 it has been rumored. But they should had released it from the start or at least give us the option for external hard drives like X-One.
That is so awesome to have and great that they listened to fans requesting this outside Asia. If I wouldn’t have PS4 this would definitely be mine. Had to make my own TPP PS4 with some skins bought, I love how it looks now although took a while to add them correctly.
Damn, l was hoping that this wasn’t the game’s final cover… It looks a bit strange to me.
Ground Zeroes had a realistic Snake model in the cover while Snake’s model in TPP’s cover looks like clay to me.
I like it a lot for some reason and think it’s cool :). Although at first I was expecting Big Boss to look towards us similar as in GZ cover so could see eyepatch/horn more clearly.
Even if we got the Snake and Ocelot cover with the desert gear, it would be a lot better.

You’re just seeing more the humanity of the guy; its lit much more and you only see the good side, not the horn or eyepatch, giving it that human touch. GZ cover was just him battered. This cover with all the scars, shows the weight of his life experience.

My game has a total playing time bug. It says that l played for 5 days and 4 hours, when clearly, l haven’t played for more than 35 hours. Last night l played for 3 hours, and it added 2 days in my total playing time. That is stupid, cause in games like these, l like to know how much time l have invested.
I think their still doing some patches.
I’m sure it’ll fix in a patch or two.
I haven’t even checked how much I have played lol, but need to see it tomorrow because I’m interested about the amount. I hope I can finish it in 80 days haha, when don’t have time to play every day :P.

Tbqh beyond his controls bugging out once, it’s nearly impossible to fail any of them-whenever I run out of stamina I just block the other rider and the AI can’t really get by.
How to win races: when most stamina is gone go med speed while blocking everyone’s way 😀

Hi, I was reading something about the recent gameplay sesion of tpp.
The game starts in the moment snake wakes up of the coma. So I don’t know when are we going to see the previous scenes. Maybe the real game is different.
After rescuing dd, every time we go to mother base we are going to see it growing up.
Before recruiting quiet there is a fight against her, better than the end’s fight.
And finally, the game is 90% gameplay and 10% cutscene. The “most playable” metal gear ever.
You know what I’m beginning to think? If it’s not a flashback from Miller who was conscious through that whole thing;That scene, might have been made specifically for the trailer. I’ve seen a few scenes in movies and games that don’t make it to the final product before. But I’m hoping we get to see it.

Yup. I didn’t like where Ground Zeroes ended. For me a perfect ending would have been all the way up to the coma. So we got to see the crash, how they made it out and the Hospital scene.
Nah. Would’ve actually made the most sense to end with him going -into- coma. Then the gap in real time helps emphasise the length of the coma.
Now now, they can’t keep secrets and surprises if they tell you everything from the beginning 😉

It also annoys me when it is changed for stupid reasons, like for GZ when we lost Kaz on the cover because PW didn’t sell as well as it did in Japan, like that has anything to do with GZ you are trying to sell. Like seriously removing Kaz does nothing, do they think seeing a character they don’t know on the cover means the game is bad somehow? they are having the same approach with TPP by having only Big Boss on the cover, like seriously how stupid and programmable do they think we are? they think we are so attached that it is bad to put new faces on the cover of NEW games, it makes no sense to me.

I remember how mad I was at the MGS4 box art, though in this specific case Shinkawa’s illustrations were toned down for the game release demos and such in general. For some reason someone thought 3D renders were the bomb.

That seems highly unlikely for a game of this kind, and the only resource mentioned anywhere on screen is GMP, which is increased by completing missions, outer ops and finding raw materials and diamonds…why would there be an additional resource, but not visible on screen?
But then again, Konami going for as much mobile as possible, and their income being largely based on pachinko-machines and gambling, we’ll just have to wait and see Oo
Also seems very weird that only one of the dozens of people attending the preview-event would mention anything of that kind of crap being built into the game, every time micro-transactions are built into a game everyone throws a fit over it, so why only that single person?

Sounds like wishful thinking to me, if Kojima wanted us to have a big surprise in being able to customize Big Boss for TPP, why on earth wouldn’t they just remove the option from the UI? XD
And of all the pics released, why does no pic anywhere mention any other cost than GMP, and in that case, where did the idea of micro-transactions come from?

I really don’t think this is true in any way, just think about it, micro-transactions for what, finishing outer ops-missions faster? Buying more GMP? Buying access to weapons and equipment?

This idea came from a guy who posted on a Portugese(spelling?) or Brazillian website, got translated by somebody on Reddit AFTER the original posts where taken down, and then added on by random people on reddit, and the claims made (micro-transactions and character customization for TPP) sounds more like somebody having a piss rather than something official IMHO

Out of all the previews I’ve read, EGM seems to be the most critical with their experience on MGSV: TPP

– Starting from how “taboo” (mainly the sexual assault) was poorly handled in Ground Zeroes, then questioned if that tone will fit with the “humor” that TPP seemed to impose & questioning the ratio between gritty and humor.
– How the “structure” in TPP felt off, and some of the missions felt like glorified fetch-missions
– How fultoning sheep looked “inexplicably dumb” (based off screenshots from one guy that didn’t play it lol).
– One reviewer telling their collegue that didn’t get to play the hospital scene, that they didn’t “miss much”, basically labeling it a “New-gen crawling simulator.”
– Critical of Kiefer’s lack of lines & his actual performance when it’s there.
– How the setting (Afghan portion) felt disconcerting for a Metal Gear game.
– How after playing The Witcher 3, having doubts that the “openness” in MGSV will be impressive.
– Having worries of “MGSV’s less-focused open-world style and some of the other decisions.” (the same person said they started to think that the move to open-world game design was the wrong one here.)
The only thing that seemed unanimous, was them expressing how the game play itself is very fun, however one of them also stated that he felt like he was being punished for trying to take advantage of that openness at times.

Meh, it’s only their initial impressions so far. When they play the whole game though, it will be amazing. Vast majority of journalists said it was a fantastic game so far. 🙂
Hmmm, no, is actually great that people who usually hate MGS, that they like MGSV’s Gameplay.
Also MGS is not a perfect series, it has its fair share of flaws, but the great parts are good enough to compensate!

The fultoning is made funny for a reason and how open does a game need to be, to be impressive :P? Kojima is doing something different again with his last game, so of course some things will feel strange. He knows what he’s doing with TPP.

I don’t think the cost of hiring Kiefer is the reason, my impressions was that Kojima wants us to see Big Boss as an extension of ourselves rather than a character in the game…I think…
And Kojima has mentioned Mad Max 2 as an inspiration for a more or less silent main character. I also remember from the KindaFunnyGames preview thingy that briefing files for every mission and alot of the cassettes have lots and lots of Kiefer in them, so Big Boss will just just be silent-ish during gameplay
Is all about execution, if is Max Rockatansky Silent and not Aiden Pearce boing silent, is going to be good.
Don’t forget that they guy just woke up from a 9 years old Coma with something in his brain!
Well I cannot foresee BB as an extension of ourselves as the character mythos has already been established in previous games. I have only seen this working in RPG’s where you define your character.
Well if you think about, BB has always felt like an extension of us, like we could be him, and this was reflected best in MGS3 when i basically felt as if i was Naked Snake, it has gone as i far as feeling his feeling, i laughed when he laughed and cried when he cried.
The same for Max Rockatansky, he is not an Action Hero, anyone of us could end up like Max, so if is applied the same way here, i don’t see the problem
1 more thing, if the intention is to make us feel like we are Snake, that doesn’t mean that we will have never been done right till now, so i understand where are you coming from, but don’t forget that this is Kojima, he knows how to do a Silent Character, especially considering that he compared Snake to Max Rockatansky in “Road Warrior”, and don’t forget, this guy is 70% made out of Movies, as said by Hideo himself!

You should! Mad Max 1 and 2 are amazing movies, 3 is great too but a little different. Had to watch them again few weeks ago :).
The recent 4th movie MM:Fury Road is the best imo.
Yeah they are all very good, to me the best are Mad Max 2, 4, 1 and 3 in that order, just a personal list though
Yeah, all tough Mel Gibson is the superior Max,Fury Road is a much better Movie, so for me they are Road Warrior=Fury Road
I’m feeling the same, Mel is a better max also because he is original and we put him as a standard, the thing with classics is always that problem, like Robocop, although the new one is… nah…

It has nothing to do with Kiefer, this decision was made before they even decided on the actor.
Lol I keep saying this over and over, and even link them to the source of KojiStation, but they still don’t listen and purposely keep spewing the same lies, even afterwards, as if they’ve lost a grip on reality due to extreme bitterness (not talking about solideater here, just talking about others from my own experience)
I believe the script/dialogue was written before they hire the actors. This applies to movies and tv shows as well. 🙂

I like to think that Big Boss has been through so much painful stuff in his life that he’s just not in the most talkative mood. After watching your MSF getting destroyed, ending up in 9 year coma, losing limb, deprived of everything and left for dead. Just to find yourself wake up in a nightmarish hospital scene with psychological damage and horn stuck in your head (which might be a part of his silent behavior). So if he would start chatting all the time like David Hayter’s Snake, well it would be sort of weird IMO. If I put myself in BB shoes in TPP, I might not be so talkative either.
I’m sure BB will talk during the important cutscenes etc. And Kojima said his inspiration is Mad Max, a badass man of few words. Kiefer will talk in the cassette tapes quite a lot, from what I understood.
Also hasn’t Big Boss always been kinda silent, especially outside codec calls. I mean not like TPP silent but still? He always listens a lot of others talking but don’t talk super much himself. Well anyway, we will see how everyone likes it in 82 days ;). Also remember, the preview players only played for 2 days and in Afghanistan. Who knows how long the game really is and how much Kiefer actually gets to talk.
Some of the journalists said Big Boss talks in the cassette tapes which will replace the codec conversations. Big Boss lost 9 years of his life and his comrades, I wouldn’t be too talkative either. haha
