  • I want that sneaking suit big boss! also first 🙂 lol

    • MichaelPayneV

      “also first :)”

Would you mind eating a Venom Snake? You’re Welcome!

      • eating a venom snake sounds better then eating a “punished snake” lol

        • MichaelPayneV

Then eat it until you have a Solidus Snake.

    • glitchbomb

Oh man..have you seen the Play arts sneaking suit snake…unnng.
I came so close to grabbing it but ended up getting the splitter version snake because they told me it was much more rare and I could only get it at conventions so I got that version. Makes me second guess my choice when I see any venom snake in a sneaking suit.

      • Yeah man!! I see its like 160$ and coming out in December. May have the money for it by then 🙂 And damn i can imagine that dilemma. They told you that so they could have all the venom snake sneaking suit figures for themselves ha

  • ShalashaskaWasHerSon

That new Kotobukiya Metal Gear is gonna be expensive. It looks bigger then their Rex and Ray models. Pity Figma and Revoltech double their prices when it comes to their Metal Gear merchandise. Greedy bastards!

  • Gatsu
  • Gatsu

Morale breaking down in Mother Base, and Big Boss is needed to calm things down. Just a glimpse of what will happen in TPP. I wonder how well Ocelot can co-exist with Dogs.

    • MichaelPayneV

      “Ocelot raising helms…huh, fine”

    • Andrea Feletti

Ahahahahaha that made my day XD

      • Gatsu

I know XD, was laughing so much lol. Best part when doggy walk away.

    • J_muse72

      Haha!! Wow that was funny!
It had BB,Kaz, and Ocelot break up the fight!

      • Gatsu

        Yeah ;D !

    • kirtanloorii

I like that last dog. “Break it up! Nothing to see here!”

    • Preston M Simpson

I personally believe that Ocelot has worked with Diamond Dogs with Miller for some time (Perhaps even starting the unit with him) and would be more of an influence in their eyes than Big Boss. At least in the ones that were not also members of MSF (which I assume are very few).

    • ShalashaskaWasHerSon

These dogs have a great temperament. Nice to see. My dog would tear those cats heads off and place them on my porch. Some dogs are just assholes some like people, no matter what environment they are brought up in.

  • MichaelPayneV

Dear MGI Community, i need your help.

I’m planing to do a Liquid Snake crossover with other 2 characters Cosplay, and i need to know where can i find Blue Prints of Liquid Ocelot’s Trench Coat, so that i can make my own without having to pay 400$ for a freakin coat? Thanks in Advance!

  • kuaikukia

Lol… I like the pose of Big boss sitting pile of soldiers

  • Gatsu

If interested here’s Doug’s interview (Geralt of Rivia from Witcher) :D. He seems like such awesome dude and would be pretty good Snake too ;). That intro lol.

    • MichaelPayneV

In my eyes Tom Hardy is Snake!

      • ShalashaskaWasHerSon

Nope! Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy.

        • MichaelPayneV

          Hmmmm…maybe.

      • Kol Leqejza

now it’s tom hardy… before that it was ethan hawke, than before that it was someonelse… pls, just die already. nobody needs you.

you’re lika flag in the wind.

        • MichaelPayneV

Well, is called “options” my friend, options, when you have more actor that could play Snake, that is a good thing, and After Fury Road, Tom hardy is 1 of them.

“just die already” Huh, Kol…i’m already dead!

          • Kol Leqejza

you need something that is called a “brain”.

          • MichaelPayneV

And you also need something called “thinking before you open your mouth” before saying to anyone on the Internet “just die already”, i mean, that’s not cool, not at all, and you are lucky that i’m neither a weak person to actually kill myself, nor a asshole to wish you similar, or the same thing.

That being said, i forgive you for wishing me a “just die already”, i truly forgive you, as long as you’ll learn that you should always think before insulting someone, especially a really cruel and cold blooded “just die already” insult.

Never say that again to anyone, NEVER…unless is a Boss Fight in a Video Game we are talking about who just wouldn’t die “Nanomachiens, Son” then yeah, that would make sense…so actually is should feel flattered for being a “Boss Fight” to you.

Joking aside, not cool, and i know i repeat myself, but i forgive you. Have a nice day, Kojima (GOD) bless you!

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Hum did you ever each warriors!

          • MichaelPayneV

Was that supposed to be a question, because i can’t see no “?” at the end?

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

hum did you ever see the movie warriors?FUCK MY FUCKIN IPAD!

          • MichaelPayneV

When i was a kid, don’t remember anything from that Movie.

          • Le Guy who drowned quiet

It released in 2011 how could you be a kid LOL

          • MichaelPayneV

Oh, i confused it with “The Warriors” that was also made as a Game, the 80’s warriors is the movie i was talking about.

As for Warrior, i didn’t watch it yet, but it is on my “To watch” list.

    • Tong Ninja

Very INTERESTING information at 1:43:28 and onwards about the Kojima/Konami situation. Watch that part for more elaborate details haha.

So apparently BASED FROM THIS INTERVIEW, Rika Muranaka (she was a music producer/vocalist for Kojima productions for past Metal Gear Games) didn’t reprise her role as music producer/arranger for TPP because Konami couldn’t afford her …. anyhow she believes that Kojima was fired because he was simply going over budget for every game he makes and the profit earnings aren’t as high compared to past game such as MGS1/MGS2.

She said, Kojima just wants to make the best game he possibly can and doesn’t want to cut corners to achieve his goals. Hence why Kojima goes over budget. Also Kojima and his team doesn’t get any royalties or bonus earnings if the game sells well. Which is why their salary (to make the game) is a little bit higher than usual compared to other game designers. Konami are not happy, because when they go over budget, it doesn’t affect Kojima’s salary earnings at all.

Rika has high praise for Kojima though, saying he is one of the best video game designers of his time. Although, she said the music for the game might suffer a bit because she was not involved in TPP for music arrangement.

      • MichaelPayneV

If they don’t get more money based on the sales, then i have no reason to buy TPP anymore.

        • Yaro

          Maybe to play it?

        • Tong Ninja

The game will most likely sell well. It’s accessible to all platforms now. Some people will even buy two versions of the game (console and PC) haha.

          • MichaelPayneV

True, which is the Sad Truth.

          • MichaelPayneV

I don’t know, i have mixed emotions right now, i on the other hand want it to sell not much, but i also want as many people to play it

Konami, why are your doing this to me, why are you giving me Mixed Emotions?

        • MrVux007

wait so you are telling me you buy games only so developers would earn money nothing else? Its like saying “i payed for a pizza, not to eat it,but for a higher cause,so that the makers of this fantastic pizza would earn money…” -_-

          • Kojimaphile

He can just pirate the game, assuming he’s a PC player.

If you play games on PC, you’re likely buying games a) to support developers you like, or b) you’re afraid of getting in trouble. If you are against a certain developer, or in this case a publisher, pirating the game is usually most people’s reaction.

          • MrVux007

just want to point out one thing:
there is not one justification for piracy…piracy only benefits the people who use the pirated media…justifying or putting any high agenda or good cause behind it,makes people sound egotistical and arrogant(or stupid in some cases).
Im highly against piracy and people who support that sort of thing

          • Kojimaphile

I personally buy all my games, I’m just giving you the reality.

For me, it’s about PC gaming as a whole. I read an article on I think PCGAMER that pointed out that, originally, publishers didn’t put much effort into PC ports because they would “just get pirated anyway”. Now, it gets a little more recognition. People who claim they will pirate a game as a stance against a botched port (i.e. Arkham Knight) they are, in a way, starting a cycle, that will end in more terrible ports. The publisher will look at the data, conclude it was heavily pirated, and then put even less effort in the next PC port they make.

tl;dr PC has shit ports because of pirates, and it negatively effects PC gaming as a whole.

          • MrVux007

I agree strongly with this part :”The publisher will look at the data, conclude it was heavily pirated, and then put even less effort in the next PC port they make.”(also i would add up,that they will do the same if sales in general were poor)
but pls leave out that stupid statement from (my former favorite company) Ubisoft…there are many other factors that affect the quality of PC ports…from the lack of budget to in depth HW optimization, which developers dont have access to like on the consoles…im only thankful as a console user that piracy hasnt spread out like it did on PC…but as a PC user i am bitter

          • Kojimaphile

“…from the lack of budget to…”
Why do you think the PC ports are given small budgets? Publishers don’t want to risk losing profit to pirates.
I didn’t mean to quote Ubisoft in any way, shape, or form, I’m just relaying information I read on a very informative article of which made a very clear and, in my opinion, completely correct statement: piracy plays a big factor in how well a port is developed.

          • MrVux007

i meant the lack of budget in general…meaning that both console port and PC port will end up being mediocre(console maybe less so)…that statement came from Ubisoft,so i thought you tried to quote them …
again piracy is a big factor but not the only one

PS mind posting the link of the article,i want to study it?

          • Kojimaphile

It wasn’t actually a full-blown article, it was actually just a small part on PCGAMER’s “The week’s high and lows in PC gaming” weekly update.

            http://www.pcgamer.com/the-weeks-highs-and-lows-in-pc-gaming_july17th_2015/#page-2

Scroll down to “Tom Marks: A hollow protest”

          • MrVux007

“And if you really, truly can’t resist and have to play it, pay the company for the product they made. I know a guy who makes the best falafel I’ve ever had. He’s an asshole, but that doesn’t mean I steal the falafel.”
            hahaha
I agree with the guy,and what he said was truth…
Still even without piracy,i dont think the problem of poor PC optimization/ports would simply go away. Those are my two cents

          • MichaelPayneV

If something, that tells developers that next time they just do a better optimization if they want people to buy their games.

Anyway, with Steam Refunds there is not need for Piracy as Demo anymore.

          • MrVux007

The number of pirates says otherwise 🙂

          • MichaelPayneV

Allow me to correct you: People pirate because of sh*t ports, look at GTA V Steam sales in the first 24 hours, 1 million sales.

          • Yaro

people pirate because they dont want to buy the product. Its not a gamers grass roots org

          • MichaelPayneV

And that minority wouldn’t buy it anyway, so them pirating it doesn’t hurt the publisher at all, as they wouldn’t have brought it anyway.

Publishers should stop considering any download a possible sell, not everyone affords video games, some people do it because they would rather buy some food instead…and then there are the lazy sons of a bi*es who don’t care, who i despise and HATE from the deep in my Heart.

          • MichaelPayneV

Piracy is actually a Taboo Subject, so let’s not discus it, at least not here.

          • MrVux007

not a taboo subject to me mate

          • MichaelPayneV

Well, to me it is, and i would prefer not to discus it here.

          • MrVux007

No one invited you to the discussion mate : /

          • MichaelPayneV

Glad we can act like adults.

          • MichaelPayneV

On 1 thing you are right, the 2 reason in no order are to own the game, and to support the developers, after years of pi…i started to understand why is important to pay for content.

            So yeah.

          • MichaelPayneV

Your first point is right, i do it only to support good content.

          • MichaelPayneV

Yes, the only reason i buy Games is to support good content and great creators, and hard work, i could easily just pirate them, but i don’t, not those that deserev my money, and you know why, because i have respect for those who respect me as a consumer, like Rockstar and Kojima Prod.

          • MrVux007

So you dont play your games?…cuz my reasons to buy games is to mainly play them, supporting devs comes secondly….downloading pirated games, does not make you a good gamer mate even if the publisher/devs dont deserve your money by your opinon, there is absolutely no justification for it…

      • Kol Leqejza

sins of the father is the best vocal track of any mgs game. with or without her help – i don’t care.

        • Tong Ninja

Yes, Sins of the Father is an awesome song from what we’ve heard so far (we haven’t heard the whole song yet haha). Easily one of the best vocal tracks in the MGS franchise. 🙂

I also look forward to Stefanie Joosten’s vocals for Quiet’s Theme. 😀
The OST for TPP will be awesome! I think Rika will be proven wrong haha!

  • kalacoste

Oh gawd, look at all of that perfect figure…

  • Bożydar Mazur
    • MichaelPayneV

He has been in a Coma, so his skin hasn’t aged that much, since he didn’t move his face at all for 9 years.

    • MichaelPayneV

Damn, i just realized how much i look like Snake (all 3)

    • Daburcor

To be quite honest, this is the only Venom figure I’ve thought looked remotely like him.

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Lol your comment makes no sense

        • Daburcor

How so? None of them look like him to me. Pretty sensible.

  • Xomak

Cool, the new Metal Gear looks like it’ll have arms that extend out.

Nice, a better look that the Figma Gurlukovich soldier. Thought disappointing it’s not the default looking one we see for the majority of MGS2.

Revol Mini Olive Drab V. Snake looks pretty good, I may order one as well.

That’s very interesting, I thought the Sneaking Suit Snake was a Revoltech but he’s actually in a new series of figures called Vulcanlog? Looks like he comes with an alternate white/silver arm. I wonder how he scales… It better not be a size in-between Revol Mini and Revoltech, that would just annoy me to no end. Already a pain that the PAKs don’t have a consistent scale.

  • MichaelPayneV
  • MichaelPayneV

Update: Doesn’t the ST-…Skull Face’s Metal Gear remind of a popular 80’s Creature, from a SF 80 Movie Franchise?

    http://img3.goodfon.su/original/1920×1117/1/2b/xenomorph-xenomorph-queen.jpg

    For comparison!

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Oh shit. I see some kind of mini-rail gun attaching in the back protecting his ass

      • MichaelPayneV

Now just imagine the Boss fight with this thing in an Open Wold Scenario, no confined Space, , no Time Limit, just you and The Metal Gear in the Entire Afghanistan Map, running from this thing to later wait for it with traps, then when stunned, do as much damage as you can, then use the chopper to move as far away as possible, and do the same thing again, but this time waiting in a Tan k to ambush it, then taking a Cara and leading the Metal Gear in to a Trap, and sooooo on.

Just imagine the thrill of a several in-Game days Boss fight, imagine The End Boss fight, but with a Metal Gear!

And i think this is how the fight will be. See Snake Running from it?

        http://www.metalgearinformer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Metal-Gear-Solid-V-The-Phantom-Pain-E3-2015-Screen-Metal-Gear-Snake.jpg

Now see how the Metal Gear i Stuck in a Trap in the Open World, similar to my theory? Yeah.

      You don’t say.

      • FOX VS XOF

        OK…..

        • MichaelPayneV

No, by “you don’t say” i mean “duh, of course EVA is in the Game, why wouldn’t she be?”

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

I don’t understand you people. all of you put “spoiler alert” like if someone would have the chance to not read the text that you already are showing. You are forcing me to see it . Don’t you see? Also we have a triumph in the game – 1984 storyline it’s obvious Eva is in the game

Please go with your spoiler to another site

      • FOX VS XOF

        im sory…..

    • Gatsu

There’s a good chance she’s in the game, maybe not in a huge role but I’m 90% sure we see her :).
Just don’t post real spoilers during the next month :O, and that goes for everyone lol.

Btw welcome to the site comrade ;).

      • MeLand127

“don’t post real spoilers during the next month” Yup, it’s a must ;D

  • Javier

I finally decided to go with the digital version. This countdown finish the sep 1st at 04:00 am in my country. Does it have preload?

    • MichaelPayneV

This world will become one. I have found the way to hurt Konami, favorite games, community, platform of choice, we all should hurt Konami where it hurts, in their wallets, by not Pre-Ordering or buying TPP day 1, and only buy it after the financial damage has been done, when even our money will be irrelevant to Konami’s Bankruptcy.
The Fan-Base that Hideo envisioned envisioned will finally become a reality, and it will make the gaming community whole again.

That being said, if we will continue to ignore gaming companies sh*t on us, it will happen the inevitable, a New Gaming fall will happen like in the 80, and at that point The chain of retaliation is what will truly bind this community together as one, and i don’t think we want that.

PS: This comment was just a Joke, was a “How would Zero and Skull Face react to Kojima’s name removal” don’t take it seriously tough.

      • MeLand127
      • Punished “Venom” Snake

Won’t happen though, millions will buy the game day one, I think people overreacted with this Kojima Productions logo and “A Hideo Kojima Game”, theres no “gaming fall” coming at all, we have great games coming, Konami already have people to make a new MGS, and don’t forget about mobile gaming in Japan, I actually hate Konami, but hating them for their marketing won’t let them go bankrupt.

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Fellow gamer from Argentina. We will see our faces in the battlefield after I complete 100% the story XD

    • Kojimaphile

On the PS3 PlayStation Store, Phantom Pain had one of those “entire page” displays (like titles displayed under “Must Play”) which had the release date and “Pre-Load” in the corner. I’d imagine if it can be pre-loaded on PS3, same goes for PS4.

      • Javier

        Thanks.

    • Punished “Venom” Snake

2 days before the release, I hope we can pre load it like a week before just like The Witcher 3.

  • MichaelPayneV

Question: Do you guys think that Cyprus will be just a small area for the Intro only, or will it be the Third Area of TPP where act 3 will take place, aka The Ending Part?

Just a thought as in the GDC Trailer Cyprus seems like a huge Open Workd Environment “the land of the living” aka with pedestrians, and it also seems as tough the scene when Snake is on the Bike, is in Cyprus!

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Well it could be ! .. I found exited to think about places like Chernobyl Phantom city where you can go to point A-B on bike and travel diferent roads and Highways. i would love some european Style map that feels empty and sad .

      • Edward Wokhands

Holy crap that would be incredible. I can’t wait to see how the motorcycle works. If there’s a massive world with roads like you say then I’ll screech with happiness at 20,000hz

    • Le Guy who drowned quiet

according to the trophies where big boss wears his jacket and rides a bike is called truth:the man who sld the world
they are legit coz these trophies told us that the metal gears name is sahelanthropus before we knew it was st 84 unlesss they copied past information this cant be fake

  • MichaelPayneV

THIS is why i will not buy TPP until the price drops on Physical PC Version.

    http://www.metalgearinformer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/MGSV-E3-2015-Trailer-Retaliation-breeds-Retaliation.jpg

If you erase Kojima, then we erase you “Eye for an Eye”
You put Paywall Microtransaction in the Game, we won’t pay you “Retaliation breeds Retaliation”

    • MrVux007

You do realize that will be a LONG time until they release the physical PC version, let a alone a price drop on that version?(if there will be one)
The only good thing you will be doing is save up money,KONAMI and Koji.Productions will still get more-less the planned revenue (depending on the contract of the sub-company)…
Kojima and Kojima Productions are far from erased (as far as MGSV goes) and Microtransactions are optional and non-game breaking(at least Sean Eyestone stated that).
I regret that, i will be playing the game in November, and i feel i will be missing out, since almost every old clan member (around 30 people) will be getting the game day one.Your agenda(if you meant it)is commendable but also a bit hilarious, cuz we both know that it wont hurt a company like Konami and it will only work for your financial side(which is ok by me)…If you really hate Konami, and want to do some damage, just dont buy any more products they release after they finish releasing MGSV content. 🙂

P.S. I do remember, you stating a number of times that you will be getting the game on Sept.15-th?

      • MichaelPayneV

Is already confirmed that Game sales, not just MGSV won’t bring more money to Kojima and his team, they have already been paid, which is why i will not give Konami Money, at least not until the Damage is done.

        • MrVux007

          where was it confirmed?

          • MichaelPayneV

By the composer of MGS 1 to 3!

          • MrVux007

            link pls

          • MichaelPayneV

Is somewhere in this comment section, i’ll send it to you later.

        • Edward Wokhands

I’d like to see that too.

        • No Place For Hayter

I was so close to cancelling my special edition of TPP and downgrade to day one because I did not want to give Konami as little money as possible, but that order was tied to another order etc etc, in the end it would cause me more trouble than necessary, lol, I also need that blu-ray behind the sceneish disc.

      • MichaelPayneV

And i also chose to not buy TPP in 2015 either, but i will play it.

And please, tell me Konami doesn’t deserve this.

        • Edward Wokhands

In my opinion it will hurt Konami more if we all buy MGS 5 and then basically stop after that. It will show them just how extreme the love for Kojima is and how stupid they are doing what they’ve done.

No Kojima games? No sales. Kojima games? SALES!

          • MichaelPayneV

No, it won’t, they know that after TPP they won’t see any money, so TPP is the last money they will make, and if you cut them off now, Konami will go down sooner than expected.

          • Edward Wokhands

I’m thinking more of sending them the message that we’ll buy Kojima’s games but not theirs. If nobody buys MGS5 then they’ll just think they did the right thing since “nobody bought his game anyway”.

          • MichaelPayneV

That’s pointless, as Kojima won’t work again for Konami anyway, and i’m glad he is free now to work with whoever he wants (Del Toro) and do whatever he wants (Not Silent Hills)

        • MrVux007

I will make my judgement on that weather or not Konami deserves my money when i find out the real deal behind the Kojima-Konami fiasco… AND after i buy and play MGSV TPP as any true MGS fan will (ASAP)

Just so we are clear, your not planning to download a pirated version of TPP?

          • MichaelPayneV

Well, all i will say is that i will do the same as i did with GZ, and i own GZ on steam , Physical version activated via Steam since February or March, i think, so if it turns out that Konami are not bastards, i will buy it, i mean i will buy it anyway to own it Physically (My obsession) and make my own “A HIDEO KOJIMA GAME” Cover with my printer, but still, i won’t wait months to play it, since i will eventually buy ti anyway, so i’ll just consider it “early access”

          • MrVux007

So wait you will buy both digital and physical copy of TPP or ? i didn’t quite understand your last comment

          • MichaelPayneV

No, i will buy it only once, and physical, just like i did with GZ, and just like GZ, i will play it at release, in TPP case on September 16.

          • No Place For Hayter

“Just so we are clear, your not planning to download a pirated version of TPP?”

Such scary things should not be brought up just to be nice to Nyxus and the site, I mean nobody would answer the question simply because it would take the conversation into an undesired direction.

I kind of feel like responding, but, lol, that would be breaking my own rules so I’m shutting up now, lol.

          • MrVux007

Well his statement about pirating(and his statement in general) made me think he will download the pirated version, just to “damage” Konami, which i dont aproove,AT ALL…the subject of piracy wasnt mentioned by me in the first place, and the discussion between me and the other individual was civil and calm.
Also i remember seeing the subject of piracy,on this site a number of times, some were civil…and some…not so.
“Such scary things should not be brought up just to be nice to Nyxus and the site, I mean nobody would answer the question simply because it would take the conversation into an undesired direction.”
“I kind of feel like responding, but, lol, that would be breaking my own rules so I’m shutting up now, lol.”

Dayum,i didnt know people were actually scared of discussing something that is well known as “piracy”…And no need to bring Nyxus into this,he allready said that he doesnt want any kind of platform wars and toxic behaviour in general…as long as the subject is civil i dont see the problem behind it

          • No Place For Hayter

You misunderstand, my comment wasn’t a statement about anyone being rude or uncivil, it was all fine and dandy, I was simply pointing out a lot of people don’t like to see the subject brought up.

  • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Just wondering what you guys think of the PythonSelken theory about the Big Boss Grey Fox head transplant theory. I thi its ridiculous, even by MGS standards. just want to know if any of you guys think it’s a possibility?

    • The theory = ridiculous
      My opinion = nothing

      • MeLand127

        the comment kill it XD

    • Tong Ninja

XD That’s right, has the real life transplant doctor (Sergio I think his name was) sued Konami yet for apparently taking his appearance and putting it into the game?

I mean Ian Moore was the confirmed face model for the doctor in TPP. haha

    • MichaelPayneV

I think he is half right, i think that Big Boss is the real identity of MGS1 Gray Fox, as Gray Fox in MGS1 was acting like a disappointed Big Boss, wanting to get his revenge on Solid, and as he has a missing Right eye, just like Big Boss, and no forehead where the shrapnel it, and that the one who died in MGS4, was Frank Jagger, not Big Boss, as he was acting like a brother to Old Snake, and as he doesn’t have the Scar on his Forehead.

My theory is that Big Boss died in MGS1, and Frank in MGS4, but again, just a theory made for fun.

    • No Place For Hayter

Python does a lot of interesting analyzing and points out and shows some great things, but what he builds off of what he sees is ridiculous at best. There is a possibility of a body double (though I personally think it is ridiculous) but the is literally a 0% chance of said near impossible body double being Gray Fox, it is ridiculous enough thinking there is a body double but thinking it is Gray Fox is beyond the realm of stupid and like you said is ridiculous even by MGS standards and that says something.

    **OFF TOPIC INCOMING**

Bulma is my favorite character from the Dragon Ball Universe, and I kept wondering the reason for that. I mean with all the cool characters and the kais, sayans, nemekians, androids and buus. Surely my favorite character would be a strong fighter with awesome power. But I went back and watched the Original Dragon Ball saga and this ending made me cry nostalgic tears. I think in this little clip, they show a lot of dept to her character with a sense of adventure, child like wonder, purpose and longing that you rarely see with other characters. Plus she’s the one who basically set the whole thing in motion. She is the one who found Goku with her dragon radar, thus marking the beginning of Goku’s adventure.

And to tell the truth. I like the Spanish version better. It has just that little something extra, like the backup voices in the chorus just makes it a little more special.

    • When I first saw Dragon Ball Z I was in Mexico visiting family. They suck, so I just watched t.v. the first episodes I ever saw was the Cell saga. Then when I came back to L.A. I found it on Toonami and it was barely at Vegeta getting to earth. Since then I have bought all the seasons on DVD the series is freaking amazing. music, story & the message. The ending of the series brought a legit tear to my eye.

      • BurntFM

Dragon Ball Z is awesome I watched the whole series as well, but I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the original Dragon Ball. Young naive Goku makes for some really funny situations. Specially when Master Roshi is around. lol

        • And Bulma with her stinky ol fanny haha

Dragon Ball was a awesome start to a legendary series

      • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Freezer was my favorite villain of my childhood and cell creeped me out especially his original self when he was created!

        • Cell has the best villain theme too haha

    • Gatsu

Dragon Ball ftw :)! I think it was the anime that got me really addicted to watch them for years, thanks to it I still do watch every week ^^!

  • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Well i made some exited research fellow Diamond Dogs :

This new metal gear is called : Metal Gear Sahelanthropus Tchadensis 84.
Sahelanthropus Tchadensis: is an extinct hominine species that is dated to about 7 million years ago, possibly very close to the time of the chimpanzee–human divergence.

1- Sahel = Is an area on the Sahara desert that stretches across six countries from Senegal to Chad ( the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in Central Africa.) Sahel origin comes from the Swahili culture. Sahel means leader.

2- Thropus = human being —in generic names of primates

3- Tchadensis = The specific name of tchadensis refers to Chad

Because no postcranial remains (i.e., bones below the skull) have been discovered, it is not known definitively whether Sahelanthropus tchadensis was indeed bipedal, although claims for an anteriorly placed foramen magnum suggests that this may have been the case.

The discoverers claimed that S. tchadensis is the oldest known human ancestor after the split of the human line from that of chimpanzees.

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

      Sahel Sandstorm and Map

    • Tong Ninja

      Very interesting! Nice research. 😀
So from my perspective, this particular Metal Gear ST-84 pretty much represents Skull Face’s motives.

Funny how the English version of that dialogue differs a little bit from the Japanese version in terms of tone. The English version sounds more poetic and haunting. While the Japanese version sounds more evil and destructive. haha

  • PsychoMantis18

Pity the Sniper Wolf statue is so over-sexualised; I like Kotobukiya but have to pass on this one

  • Venom_Sina

Hey guys.If you have the time, take a look at this. What’s your opinion?

“Metal Gear Solid 1-3’s composer might know why Kojima and Konami have split up.”

    http://www.destructoid.com/metal-gear-solid-1-3-s-composer-might-know-why-kojima-and-konami-have-split-up-296699.phtml

    • Tong Ninja

Yeah, things like developing the FOX Engine cost a lot of money. Konami pretty much counted the cost of creating the FOX Engine into making TPP haha. Although, I see the FOX Engine as more of a long term investment, because Kojima (back in 2013 I think) said the FOX engine in the future, will reduce game development costs by 30-40%.

Konami probably think this game won’t sell as well as past Metal Gear games. MGS3 and MGS4 sold well (around 8 million copies altogether), but not as well as MGS1 and MGS2 (roughly 13 million copies altogether).

But MGSV: TPP is more accessible to everyone, which is why I think this game will sell well haha! 🙂
At the end of the day, Kojima wants to make the best game he possibly can for everyone to enjoy. He might have to go over budget to achieve his goals/vision. I know I am going to have a lot of fun with TPP. 😀

      • Venom_Sina

“Konami probably think this game won’t sell as well as past Metal Gear games.”
They are making a huge mistake!!!MGSV will sell really good, nowhere near GTAV sales, but it’ll be good.I’m sure of it.C’mon,it’ll be released on 5 platforms!!!
I think the main reason of Silent Hills’ cancellation is money, too. But in this case,I’m with Konami.SH isn’t a mega franchise like MGS and it’ll not sell like MGS.Probably they were afraid of development costs and that the game may not sell well in the market.
You know the style of Kojima’s work.He isn’t afraid to spend a lot of money on his project.Look at MGSV.Kojima Station, participating in any game show(minor or major),Kiefer Sutherland, etc. Now look at Silent Hills. We got P.T.,Guillermo del Toro,Norman Reedus. These guys are big in Hollywood and of course they want big money, too!!!
This will work on MGS’ case and the game will return the money Konami spent, but for Silent Hills…no,I don’t think so!!!

      • ShalashaskaWasHerSon

Remember that Fox Engine is running at 60FPS on consoles and it looks very pretty. Imagine if was locked at 30FPS. They could boost the visuals. I think the engine will be in use for quite some time. Pity it can’t do transparent textures that well. The blocky pixel dithering is very noticeable on character hair.

    • Raven_Sorrow

      To the first link:

I don’t know if this is the same around the world but, in my country there is an Authors-rights law that states that if a contracted work generates more revenue than the previously calculated value, the author has the right to special remuneration where the company HAS to adjust the remuneration of the artist. If konami didn’t pay special remuneration, it is open be sued, and Kojima has the right to leave the company with benefits. *the following part is conjecture: Konami tried to pay this adjust as budget so they could say they have paid it, this way the money would have return to Konami, legal process would be taken out off the equation( iffy ) and Kojima couldn’t take it to start it’s own studio. Or it’s still just a marketing ruse XD Maybe we will never know ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • Tong Ninja

That is true, as Konami decide what wages to pay the actors and other game development processes. But things like all the Kojima Station episodes, TGS 2014 event, etc, might have contributed to Konami not being happy with Kojima wasting time and money doing live stream shows. I loved the Kojima Station episodes though! haha 😀

Also, this game might have been delayed to September 2015. They were aiming for a late 2014 release for TPP but couldn’t, because of game optimisation issues or what not.
Delays = more money required to fix the problems.

We won’t know, until either Kojima or Konami speak up after TPP is released. haha

      • Eugene Voldo

        > in my country there is an Authors-rights law

There’s a problem. Kojima was and still is a salaryman. He works for a company and everything he creates while he’s in the company belongs only to a company. Nothing particularly new and groundbreaking here. That’s how Japan’s game industry rolling for a very long time.

        >You can’t spend more than what they give you -.-

That’s the point! A lot of people saying that Konami didn’t give Kojima a creative freedom and
suddenly here’s the news which tell you that Konami give him an enormous budget and yet he couldn’t ship the product on time. Actually if this piece of info is true then Konami was completely right in firing Kojima. His demands was too expensive for a very little gain.

        • Raven_Sorrow

This is exactly what i am talking about. The law is about that. A salary man is contracted for set price and every thing he creates belongs to the company, right. But the law i’m talking about says that if the creation (exploitation rights that belongs to the company) generates more money then expected, the salary man’s salary has to be increased too. This happened to a colleague of mine. He developed a program working for a company which paid him a salary. But the program was, unexpectedly, a huge success and generated hundreds of thousands of Euros so the salary for that contracted work was not fair so it had to be revised and he got paid big time. This is the special remuneration law i’m talking about.

About the second part if it’s real you are right, and he should be fired. But it’s a big if… When a game has an “Enormous” budget, it is publicized from the beginning to make the company look good. I don’t think i ever heard anything about this games budget until the Kojima/konami feud started…

          • Eugene Voldo

Oh, I get it. But as far as I know in Japan the company is the king when
it comes to money and reaping profits. I think some of the companies (generally book and comic publishers) are indeed paying cash bonuses to writers and comics artists whose works are selling well. But in game industry there is nothing like that. That’s why a lot of famous Japanese developers can’t really start their own studio without some major financial back-up. See: Hironobu Sakaguchi (Microsoft), Hideki Kamiya, Shinji Mikami (Sega) and others. They are not millionaires and Kojima is no exception.

About budget. I think people started talking about MGSV budget when
Konami announced Kiefer as a new voice for Snake. Actors of his caliber don’t come
cheap and if you’re wasting so much resources just for the voice then you’re
probably not trying to save money on other parts of the game either. At least
it’s what I thought when the news about Kiefer came in.

Someone apparently said that they played the whole game and spilled the spoilers on reddit. (I haven’t seen the spoilers). Some guy asked Ken if the spoilers were true.

Ken said he read the spoilers, and the spoilers are not true. haha

  • Lol, they made the chicken hat! Hahaha.

  • Điamond Đog

I think after Gamescom, I’ll go dark on MGSV news. Too many trolls eagerly waiting to spoil the game. Hell, they were ready to do it even with the fake leak off Reddit, and our fanbase is second-to-none when it comes to trolling.

    • No Place For Hayter

Lol, sounds like a good idea, but personally I’m only doing a black out on release day until I finish the game, lol, for some reason i can’t stay away from supposed spoilers, I mean I read the two fake plot leaks for TPP as soon as I found out, and of course they were so bad I immediately knew they were fake, lol.

  • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Hey guys, I really think we should avoid spoilers for whats going to be one of the greatest gaming experiences ever. It’s going to be an amazing experience for people who MGS TPP is the first MGS game they’ve played, but for us, we who have decades invested in the MGS universe and story, this game is going to be magical. What will make it explosive for us is when old story meets new story and the big moments will have a colossal impact on us. It’s these emotional experiences that I can’t wait to have with this game and i would just hate it if becomes a diluted experience for me because people feel the need to post spoilers. I’m avoiding places, especially YouTube until release day, but I genuinely believe the people on this site would not maliciously try to ruin anyone’s PP experience.

    • Raven_Sorrow
    • MichaelPayneV

Sadly, i think that a third of the game has been compromised by Konami, by cutting down the budget in the finishing stages of development and cutting off Kojima.

I hope the game proves me wrong, which is why i will keep a bit lower expectations.

      • Mauricio Acosta

I do not think that is the case here. If the budget is cut, then all that would really be affected would be content yet to be implemented. Although I do believe that Kojima probably had in mind releasing Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain early next year, all that means is everything we have seen this far and more will be in the game.

    • No Place For Hayter

Looks like people complaining about Quiet being naked, have forgot about this photo, even before it was confirmed that the reason she is in Bikini is that is her Default outfit, and that her clothes are customizable.

    http://s2.dmcdn.net/E-WxY/1280×720-n0r.jpg

That being said, looks like we know 2 of the Camos she will have, Naked and Olive Drab.

    • Ravenous

Uhm…Naked, Olive Drab and Tiger Stripe by the looks of that picture 😉
On that topic though, I wonder if there are more customization-options for her and the other buddies than their uniforms/paintjobs?
Would be cool if we could customize the hair like BB (Mullet or Ponytail), and maybe even other things like the pattern of her mascara and stuff like that, patterns for DD’s fur, length and color of the fur, and the same for the horse 🙂

    • MeLand127

Huh, I thought this one was for the quiet got drowned scene? (from E3 red band 2013 trailer). But on the second thought, I think quiet could wear it in normal gameplay, because if it can’t.. from the economy perspective, it will be a “loss”, think about it 🙂

      • MichaelPayneV

Nope, this is not when she was drowned, she clearly has the same equipment as Venom Here, so after all she might be Playable, this might actually be from a Quiet Playable DLC.

        • MeLand127

No.. No dlc please.. :'( Kojima never put dlc of his games

Little Off-Topic: Has anyone ever wondered why did they choose, not just a relatively young Actor for Code talker, but also a Buff Dude for a really, really, Old Man?

    http://metalgearsolid.pl/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/91.jpg

Is he a Boss fight, or better yet, is he Hideo’s version of a freaking Temrinator T-800 “Human Flesh over Endo Skeleton”

Or maybe is because we will see flashbacks with Young Code talker, and they wanted the same Actor for all the Ages.

    • His voice.

      • MichaelPayneV

He doesn’t sound old tough, so why not have an old actor do the voice? Just saying.

        • The Reaver

Do you expect them to just have an 80 to one hundred-something year old Navajo actor just sitting around? Due to his name, it can be assumed that Code Talker is Navajo. Code Talker’s voice actor, Jay Tavare, is also Navajo, meaning he can accurately convey the accent, language, and other nuances of Code Talker’s Navajo background. So, yeah, they hired him because of his voice/ethnicity, not because of his age.

          • MichaelPayneV

I just found it interesting, and thinking about the possible surprises we might have from Code Talker…Hell, he may even be in disguise as an old Man.

        • His accent, he’s 100’s of years old. It’s not humanly possible, it’s just a thing we have to accept haha

          • ObsessedGeorge

            His Native-American accent. 😉

    • MeLand127

Maybe beneath the old skin and old face, lies a man with superpower like Gerhman or the Beast that’s why Kojima chose that guy 0.0

      • Tong Ninja

Loved Kung Fu Hustle! Such a funny movie and filled with a lot of move/book references! 😀

    • Tong Ninja

Because he’s an actor that can speak Navajo. I don’t think Kojima has time to find a 100 year old Navajo actor (that is if there is one) XD. Also Code Talker will be speaking both English and Navajo in TPP. Jay Tavare can speak both . 🙂

That’s the cool thing about voice acting, you can alter your voice to sound old without the audience worrying about the appearance of the actor since Kojima already modelled the face for Code Talker. haha

Question: Am i the only playing MGSV (GZ) with the weapon crosshair off due to the lack of weapon recoil?

Now that i think about it, maybe the recoil has been on purpose heavily reduced to force the hardcore fans to play the game without a crosshair, and when wanting to aim properly to do it in the FPS Mode…in other words looks like what i saw at first as a flaw is actually an improvement that any shooter should borrow, as not having a crosshair gives it a more realistic feel, and combine that with a lower recoil, you just have a perfect balance between realism and difficulty.

    • No Place For Hayter

I don’t play with it off, but when aiming I only use the FPS mode. When I have good surround sound, I do turn off the indicator that lets you know what direction someone is almost seeing you from 🙂

      • MichaelPayneV

Well, with it on i feel no difficulty on doing Headshots, and yes, i know, BB is the greatest soldier, but still, i want some difficulty, the guns in GZ at least with the crosshair turned on (no sexual tough) feel like, toys, and i don’t like that.

That’s my only problem gameplay wise i have with MGSV.

      • Edward Wokhands

Same here, I love the sound in GZ. Hearing squelchy guard footsteps behind you in the rain creates much panic.

    • Javier

The lack of weapon recoil is because snake is the best soldier in the universe. It could be good to have something like the aim of the last of us.

      • MichaelPayneV

Plausible Excuse, but still, in TPP this shouldn’t be the case, as he is damaged and has a freakin missing arm.

What would be great, is if the Weapon recoil with be strong, really strong when you start the game, and slowly decreasing when you progress trough the story, showing that Big Boss is Re-getting used with his weapons, that he is recovering and re-becoming the greatest soldiers he once was.

        Wouldn’t that make sense?

        • Javier

          Yeah

        • No Place For Hayter

That would create a gameplay rift though, they need the controls and the feel of the controls to be constant so the player can get used to them and use them. It would also encourage racing through the story instead of playing the game the way you want.

          • MichaelPayneV

Not really, as the recoil decrease would be slow, slow enough to not feel the change, think of it like “weapon skill meter”

EX: GTA San Andreas had this, and if you use the cheat to max your weapon skill bar, you will feel as if shooting is too easy, but if you play it, and slowly progress, you would feel like you are getting better.

This is an important feature that today games have lost.

          • No Place For Hayter

If they added such a feature it would work yeah, but through usage not story, like you said 🙂

          • MichaelPayneV

Well, GZ was after all a Beta Test made to give feedback, and recoil is one of them.

        • Ravenous

Awsome idea, but like Michael said, it would not be good for people taking their time with side ops and stuff, but if you change it from being dependable on story-progression, and make it depend on the number of rounds fired and the number of hits, sounds good to me 🙂

Essentially, the more accurately the player shoots over a given number of shots, the lower the recoil-effect ( to a certain extent ofcourse)

    • Edward Wokhands

:O I had no idea it could be switched off! I’m going to try that. I always play with reflex mode off, it gives that realistic feel you mention. The tension becomes a LOT higher and I find myself being WAY more careful, planning routes and watching patrols patterns. I’m looking forward to trying without a crosshair now.

I seriously cannot wait for this game, GZ is still my favorite game of the last few years (on par with TLOU and TW3 even though it’s tiny in comparison) so I’m really excited at the potential for TPP. Slowly scouting and analyzing massive mission areas is going to be incredible. Seeing how guards react to different times of day and weather, plus all easter eggs. I’m drooling with anticipation.

Plus I’ve convinced myself that there’s going to be a sniper battle just like The End but in a massive GZ sized stage.

      Only 35 days left!

      • MichaelPayneV

Ma Favorite New Game ( past 5 years) is Hitman Absolution, followed by Tomb Raider and Sniper Elite 3!

If you want to make the wait for TPP more easy to handle, and be more than prepared when playing in Africa, then get Sniper Elite 3!

        • Raven_Sorrow

Is it worth it? i played the first sniper elite. Loved the open levels and the fact that the gameplay was really slow. Like real sniper like slow movement, very strategical. But then i played sniper elite v2 demo and it was nothing like the fist one! “Hallway” like levels and fast pace shooting?! I didn’t picked up the full game. Is 3 more like the first one or it’s the same as v2?

          • MichaelPayneV

3 is the most Open World Sniper Elite, is worth it.

          • Raven_Sorrow

            *.* ty

          • Edward Wokhands

Sounds cool. I might try 1 and 3. I love slower games.

        • Edward Wokhands

Sniper Elite 3 is one of those games I’ve been considering on and off since it came out. I might give it a go. I’m not really a fan of shooters but that’s more stealth isn’t it?

I enjoyed Hitman Absolution but didn’t like the instinct (that’s what it was called right?) system where you basically lower your hat a little bit to disguise yourself. It seemed like a cool idea but ended up feeling too gamey and exploitable. The graphics on ultra at 1440 where incredible though, it’s a very impressive graphic engine.

I have the PC Tomb Raider on Steam but haven’t tried it properly. I think I’ll try it or Sniper tonight then. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve drained The Witcher 3 of all content so haven’t played anything for a while. (Other than going snapomatic crazy in GTA 5)

          • MichaelPayneV

            You’re welcome, brother.

      • MichaelPayneV

Talking about the end Sniper Boss fight, i think we will have 2, 1 with Quiet, and one with the ST-84, and by that i mean that the fight with that thing will take place int he open world with no time limit, and full access to any vehicle.

        • Raven_Sorrow

O.O THE POTENTIAL!!! Question: How would you bring that beast down? 😉

          • MichaelPayneV

I would run from it and wait for it with each weapon and weaponized vehicle at a time, and each time i change location, i use a different vehicle.

          • Raven_Sorrow

This is expecting it to come after you 😀 what if it’s a pursuit? Like “someone” stole it and it’s running from you and you have to capture it. Like if you drop a tank in a position and it has the intelligence to switch courses to not face your tank. How would you do it :p (Now this is getting interesting :3 )

          • MichaelPayneV

Then that would be a non stop 2 hours thrill “Fury Road” Style.

          • Raven_Sorrow

EXACTLY!! XD Man, I really hope we can drive the motorcycle, and that it goes really really fast :3

          • Edward Wokhands

            That’d be so cool.

          • No Place For Hayter

            M47 😉

Or if possible fultoning or tranging the pilot.

          • MichaelPayneV

Well, let’s just say that you cannot kill the pilot even if you want, unless you want a “TIME PARADOX” Screen.

          • No Place For Hayter

Don’t worry about killing an important pilot, the cutscene will save them every time 😉 did blowing up REX in MG:S kill Liquid? 😉

          • MichaelPayneV

No, but you also can’t fulton it either, unless you are obligated to.

          • Edward Wokhands

You know what’d be cool? If we have to stun it a few times and attach multiple fultons. One fulton wouldn’t hold it but if we had to sneak up and stick 10-15 to it it’d just float off. Then snipe the balloons when it floats really high so it falls killing the pilot or just smashing it up.

        • Edward Wokhands

You’ve just increased the hype ten fold. I seriously can’t wait.

Fighting The End for the first time is still my best experience in any game ever. I’ve never felt tension like that before. Doing that in a bigger stage with better AI would be absolute perfection.

On a separate topic I wonder if we’ll get DLC missions? Has it been announced that extra missions will be released after initial release? I seem to remember someone saying that (Kojima in an interview maybe?). I don’t want to play missions not supervised by Kojima now though.

          • MichaelPayneV

I hope we won’t i hope all the missions are at launch.

          • Edward Wokhands

Yeah, me too now. If Kojima was still with Konami I’d love for them to keep adding episodes/missions for a while after release. Now it doesn’t really matter does it? I’ll (and quite a few other people) be acting as if Konami don’t exist once this releases.

          • MichaelPayneV

No, hell no, if they have unfinished missions, then they should delay it until is finished, and looks like is finished, so no extra missions, at least not relevant extra missions.

And you don’t need more missions in case we get a mission creator and the lever creator we saw at Gamescom 2014, imagine sharing our own missions, there would be no need for DLC!

          • Edward Wokhands

I meant more like non-canon missions but as you say if they release a level editor there’d be no point at all since fan made levels would be non-canon anyway. If they release a level editor I will literally shit with happiness. That would be the perfect send off to Snake and Big Boss’s stories. It’d basically give MGS5 unlimited replayability.

Since most of the guards talk to you through text when you hold them up we really could just build any level we wanted with any story we wanted. We wouldn’t have to worry about lack of voice acting.

Imagine all the craziness with a level editor; remakes of MGS1, 2 and 3 would pop up in a few months. Skyrim Gear Solid, Metal Theft Auto Solid 5.

          • MichaelPayneV

Were better off without Non canon missions, we can make out own missions.

      • Steven Michael Brown

I just played the end battle again a couple days ago. Never gets old…

        • Edward Wokhands

It’s a true masterpiece. Words can’t explain how perfect that game is (along with MGS4 imo) as a work of art. (I’ve said this like 100 times in these comments but Kojima managed to make a quicktime event EMOTIONAL!

He took the most shallow game mechanic and made it mean something amazing and moving and physically draining. (In a good way)

Maybe because we haven’t seen any interaction between the two, like BB petting DD. It would be great if we could pet D-Horse like Agro in Shadow Of The Colossus.

Well its time to catch a flight, hopefully ill be able to keep in touch….

If not,its been a pleasure to be part of such, intellectual and charismatic site, called Metal Gear Informer.

The site itself would not be so intriguing if it weren’t for Nyxus and the site moderators, and ofc many others that contributed to this sites comment section. With many great theories, opinions, funny and over-the-top gifs and memes, visiting this site kinda became a way of life to me,just like reading a news paper or going to the gym,and boy its a good life to live with such fine ladies and gentlemen, that visit the site along side me.

Ill be gone for 4 months, working around 14 hours a day so my availability will be shortened quite a bit.
To end this drama-comment, all i can say is thank you.
    Thank you all.

Because “thank you” is the best prayer that anyone could say…i say that one a lot.
Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.

    • BurntFM

Good having you here. Good luck on your endeavors and hopefully you will still get a chance to visit the site in the future and of course play TPP. It’s been such a wild journey waiting for Kojima’s Magnum Opus and it’s only been bearable because the great people in the MGI community. • MichaelPayneV

Guys, i just watched “Lord of The Flies” (the 1963 original one) and i have to say, just by watching this movie my TPP Experience has already improved 1 month before i’ll even play it, i now no more about Eli and the young Black Guy, and now i have an idea on what their roles might be in the Story.

Seriously, if you want to have the Best Experience, and to fully appreciate every moment of TPP, then watch these Movies that Hideo pays homage to, watch them before September 1st, your experience will be improved, you will enjoy TPP even more than the average “Newcomer” joe, and the movies are:

    1. Lord Of The Flies
    2. 1984
    3. The Terminator
    4. Moby Dick
    5. Sacco e Vanzetti
    6. 2001: Space Odyssey
    7. Blade Runner.

You won’t regret it, trust me…plus, looks like most of you have nothing to do anyway, and want September 1st to come faster, so why not contribute to that, by “wasting” some time with these movies, and maybe even re-watch your own favorite Movies from the 50’s to the 80’s.

    • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Everyone listen because I have the conch!
This post made me laugh because I had a rant at one of my friends saying that the average person won’t truly understand MGS TPP unless they have read/watched Lord of the Flies, 1984, Moby Dick, 2001 and Blade Runner. I watched the original Lord of the Flies last week, amazing film, all I could think about was Eli because I can see his story being heavily influenced by LOTF.

      • MichaelPayneV

Very funny, ha, ha, allow me to applaud you.

That’s not what i said, i wasn’t sayign that you won’t understand TPP if you haven’t watched those Movies, all i said is that you won’t fully appreciate those subplots if you have no knowledge of these movies or their books, that’s what i meant, that if you have knowledge of these, when you will play TPP, you will feel on the same page with Kojima, and see what he is doing for people that have knowledge of these.

        • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Read my post again dude, I was completely 100% agreeing with you. Kojima borrows from different influences and it’s beneficial to view/read that material.

          • MichaelPayneV

            Oh, my bad then.

          • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Yes bro your bad 😉 I follow your posts religiously, your one of the people on here I can relate to the most. You get the whole MGS concept exactly like I do and I can’t wait to hear what you make of TPP once it comes out……. That’s the way Kaz would have wanted it!

          • MichaelPayneV

Looks like I’m not the only Movie buff from here, who sees how for example a feature like Depth of Field in cutscenes improves the cinematography.
It also looks like Hideo is respecting the “thirds”rule with the way each shoot looks.

      • SNKtheStampede

You got me with the conch thing 🙂

    • Tong Ninja

I read 1984, Moby Dick and Lord of the Flies. 😀

I’ve seen The Terminator and 2001: Space Odyssey as well when I was young.

      • MichaelPayneV

You should also watch the 1984 Movie, even if you red the Book, the Movie is a visual Masterpiece, just finished watching it…1 minute and 46 seconds ago.

    • SNKtheStampede

      I read Lords of the flies, 1984, Moby dick;
      I watched Sacco e Vanzetti and 2001.
Terminator and blade runner, I saw them as a kid and I can’t really remember or say I understood theme fully back then.

      • MichaelPayneV

Which is why you should revisit them now, until September first.

        • SNKtheStampede

          Yes sir!

  • Tong Ninja

Here’s the link for Rika Muranaka’s (composer for past Metal Gear games) thoughts about Kojima/Konami, if anyone missed it!

  • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

I can see Eli being heavily based on this character, Jack from Lord of the Flies.

    • Tong Ninja

Yeah, if he has any cassette tapes, we will probably hear his back story that links with the Lord of the Flies. 🙂

I am really curious to who the voice actor for Eli is …. Pier Stubbs has been listed as the actor for Eli on IMBD for the last 2 years or so. He looks similar to Eli and is roughly the same age as well. But anyone can edit the IMBD site … haha

      • MichaelPayneV

Fox Engine doesn’t lie, the actor looks like the 3D Render of Eli!

  • Gatsu

Moving to a new house on September 1 dammit lol, oh well best way to celebrate it by playing TPP. Just gotta do it fast on that day, so I can pop in my TPP disc asap haha.

    • LetTheLegendComeBackToLife

Hahaha I can imagine it now, your lady struggling with boxes while you hide away playing TPP, something like this……

      • Gatsu

        XD

    • No Place For Hayter

Lol, I just finished moving to a new house, lol. Note though, that you only need to set up what you are playing TPP on, not anything else in your house, only what you need to play TPP, lol

      • Gatsu

Yeah just need to do quick setup haha ;), but it’s okey got vacation then so got time to do stuff and been dreaming of this exact house for quite some time. So I’m super glad ;)….but still the day could be different, I was planning few days ago just waking up and playing TPP asap, lol.

    • MichaelPayneV

To make it easy for you:

“if you want to have the Best Experience, and to fully appreciate every moment of TPP”

I wasn’t talking about the story at all, but the experience, and how knowing a thing or 2 about the stories that Hideo pays homage to in TPP, will make you fully appreciate the scenes in which they are referenced.

      Again, you missed the point.

      • Javier

That episode is a parody of the lord of the flies. I’m going to watch that movie, I’ve watched the rest that you talked about.

        • MichaelPayneV

Oh, i though you trolling me. my bad.

Hey guys! Long time no see! 🙂
It finally happened. They opened pre-orders for CE in my country!
I was checking the shop for 4 months with their “Info soon”, “Wait, we’ll have it”. And two days ago I thought to myself: “Well, I think they will have it only in August, may stop the checking and come back tomorrow. IT’S NOT LIKE THEY WILL OPEN THE PRE-ORDER WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND HAVE SO LIMITED COPIES IT WOULD BE SOLD OUT IN 1 DAY.” So I thought. And imagine, I casually check the shop today at work and what do you think happened? Sold. Out. For 1 f-ing day!
I was devastated. This was the only CE I ever wanted (well, maybe apart from Bloodborne and MAYBE Fallout 4). I had the money, patiently waited and bam. Lost without even playing.
But imaging this. I see a post in my country’s clone of facebook about those pre-orders. I make an angry/disappointed post for people to comfort me. And the admin of that group gives me a link for another shop, that has started gathering pre-orders but didn’t have time to announce it! 1 minute and I only have to wait for a month to get my sweet…precious…GREAT Collector’s Edition.

    • Andrea Feletti

Good for you 😉 can you post the link?

      • Lewis

Well, I live in Russia, so I don’t think the link will be useful for you, I’m afraid. :C

    • Krayd

      Congrats! 😀
I’m in the same situation in my country, but still nothing confirmed :c

Damn those 2 weeks are gonna be hell. Are you going to go dark before?

          • MichaelPayneV

Nah, we already know how TPP ends, we know what happens, so even if the ending is spoiled, i wouldn’t mind, as TPP is not about the ending, but about the Journey, about John’s Transformation from a Hero to a Demon, we already know that Outer Heaven will happen, and that the Story will end here, and even if it ends after MG1, we already know what happens from MG1!

So NO, in fact i will actually make sure i know exactly how to recruit Quiet before playing the game, and this will be the first thing i’ll do when playing, after rescuing Kaz, getting Quiet.

          • No Place For Hayter

    Hi guys!
Lately Kojima is being with Shinya Tsukamoto a lot, for the promotion of director’s latest film “Fire on the plain”. I know we are all thrilled for collaboration with del Toro, but I’d love so much to see Kojima and Tsukamoto working on a project together. I really liked Shinya’s movies and when some time ago Kojima said he’d like to treat different themes I thought that a collaboration like that could work well.
For those of you who don’t know Tsukamoto, his earlier experimental works are not for everyone but here are the movies I’d suggest to anyone:
    1- Tokyo Fist
    2- A Snake of June
    3- Kotoko
They have pretty heavy subject and in my opinion those movies are so much “human” that they look like it no more. Try those and if you like check his filmography. He has not such a great production but each of his works has a unique identity and theme.
In other words: I love Tsukamoto!

      Beat me to it!

    • Andrea Feletti

      Wow

  • Golgari

Ooh, I was hoping they’d make that video, hopefully they’ll release it soon 🙂

Woot! Although that will fly by quick.

    • Tong Ninja

      Awesome news! 🙂

Hopefully it will be released by next week then! 😀

      • Andrea Feletti

        I ‘m hoping they release it tomorrow…

    • Gatsu

Oh god yes, bring it on!

    • Điamond Đog

Any details on when it’s coming?

      • Mauricio Acosta

It looks like they are editing it. So hopefully next week!!

    • MichaelPayneV

Am i the only one annoyed that we cannot salute back the soldiers at Mother Base, that Snake doesn’t have a “Salute” animation, that they basically made BB in V a Jerk?

Seriously, he is the Leader, he should respond back like any Leader would.

      • Gatsu

Things might have changed since our last Mother Base gameplay footage.
        https://youtu.be/Wln7d4Onn2M?t=1646
I dunno is that R2 hand sign just for CQC, or does Big Boss salute Jackie’s character if press it :P. Didn’t show us. It’s enough for me that we can even walk in our beautiful Mother Base :).

        • kirtanloorii

It’s for CQC. I remember previewers mentioning that.

          • Gatsu

Ah okey, read so much previews that I guess I forgot. XD Arigatou.

        • MichaelPayneV

Yeah, i hope is just the case of not having finished that part to be show, because it just seems out of character for John to not salute back.

        • Solid PhoeniX

E3/Gamescom/TGS all had custom made gameplay footage, altered so that not many things are revealed before release. Animations, Voice Recordings, objects in Game are all left out. Like sometimes we hear quiet humming the same tune or Big Boss’s constant ‘hya! hya!…’ they would even mix up the dialogue a bit in trailers to mess with your head. I take these things with a grain of salt coz I know the actual game will play out differently when it releases

      • kirtanloorii

Some of the previewers said that you can beat the crap out of them and they will thank you for it. I guess that’s BB’s way of saluting lol.

        • MichaelPayneV

Then Snake better salute them back after he C.Q.C.s the soldiers.

      • Tong Ninja

On twitter they said, there will be a lot of new elements shown in the Motherbase demo (the scope in this game is so huge!). We might see Big Boss saluting back. If not, then using CQC to knock them down, is his way of saluting. haha

        • MichaelPayneV

Yeah, i could see that, it sounds like a very Kojiam thing (his Humor)

      • Aleezy

But you’re big boss, highest in command. In the movies, shows, etc. doesn’t the captain/commander just walk by the soldiers while they salute all the time?

But you’re right I do want to salute back. Raise morale.

        • MichaelPayneV

No, no matter how high your grades are, you salute back, that’s called honor, and BB has honor, so not saluting back is out of character, and a big flaw for the game, at least in my eyes, i care about the details, especially when they are meant to reflect your character’s personality!

          • No Place For Hayter

Completely agree, but they probably didn’t put it in because it would be annoying to randomly stop every step of the way because one of your 300 troops saluted you, lol.

          • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Well… From my point of view ..” Big boss” in this game is a crazy mother fucker with 9 years coma and a huge Posttraumatic stress disorder . I don’t mind to be disrespectful with my camarades . I’m even recruite child soldiers and show them blood, death and war, I’M a Fucking Demon

        • glitchbomb

I think that is just in the movies. From what I have read it is disrespectful to not salute back. Even ran I to a couple of forums full of soldiers asking if they should say something if a senior officer doesn’t salute back because they feel it disrespected them.
But what do I know. I’m not a soldier.

    • I want my MGO3 video alreadyyyyyy!!! >0<

      • Aleezy

Me too… Ah well month and a week to go.

  • Ryan Locke

I’m a vegan, and I work in a deli with a lot of chickens and meat. Sometimes when I spear raw chickens I get a little blood on my face, and it’s traumatizing to me because I see the chicken differently than most people. when that happens, even if it’s a little blood, I remind myself of this. lol

    • ObsessedGeorge

Oh man that sucks! How did you end up working there?

      • Ryan Locke

I worked there before a became a vegan. lol I’ve been there for over a year now. I also work with my friends so I don’t mind too much.

We might see it around the time, when Gamescom is held next week. Narrated by Satoshi :), awesome. I guess for English version we get to hear Sean.

    • Golgari

New elements? I want to see prison and the Zoo. Also, I hope to see a base from the middle of the game when it is developed enough with some serious gear.

      • Tong Ninja

Quarantine facility as well! But we might not see it, because of story spoilers haha.

Don’t forget the shower rooms! 🙂

      • Gatsu

I’d like to see those also :D. And @ Tong below …yea shower rooms mmmm o_o with Quiet.

      • Aleezy

Someone on gameFAQs forums mentioned they should have funerals… I think that would be awesome.

        • Raven_Sorrow

O.o I know what you mean. But i can’t help it, this sounds wrong to read… like..
          “awesome funerals”… :p

    • Tong Ninja

Has anyone ever thanked JunkerHQ for his fantastic Japanese to English translations ??

He gives us a lot of new information and updates about MGSV for people who don’t understand Japanese. Such an awesome guy! 😀

      • Gatsu

Yes I’m sure many have given thanks to Junker and I have too ;D. Couldn’t have survived without the updates during this long wait!

    • MichaelPayneV

Troy Baker better be narrating the English version, PLEASE!

    • J_muse72

New elements! Holy goodness! Don’t spoil too much AHH I am dying of anticipation!! Mother Base is one of the biggest things I am looking forward too and getting a gameplay demo of it next week is amazing news!

    • ObsessedGeorge

Ah, new things were bound to be revealed about Mother Base. I think l can stay away from it till l have it in my hands. Damn it it’s so tempting to watch…

    • Điamond Đog

Yeah I’m sure it will be Sean. No offense to him because he’s awesome, but I wish they would have did the same thing for the ENG demonstrations w/ Kiefer Sutherland narrating the “Freedom Of Infiltration” demo, and Troy Baker narrating the “Mother Base” demo.

      • MichaelPayneV

I wasn’t expecting Kiefer really, but i could see Troy doing it, he is a nerd like us, he would do it for free.

    • Mauricio Acosta

Onfdthbjfdvi! Ok I really can’t wait!!!!!!

    • GUN®

Honestly I prefer having a non voice actor narrate the gameplay demos, seems more…’professional’ I guess. Like how Rockstar did their demos for RDR and GTA V.

  • Colin Reid

Ordered the MGSV Limited PS4 console!

  • Still wondering, why the Metal Gear TS-84 looks more powerful, better equiped and modern than the proper Rex of MGS1.
Except, maybe, the radome, which is a huge ball and must be weighter than the Rex Radome.

    O.o

Metal Gear TS-84 is inside of Snake’s mind and only he can see it or what? lol…

    • MichaelPayneV

My take: Is a Unique Metal Gear Rex prototype improved by Huey, and is 1 of a kind that will get destroyed in TPP, and therefore go “Extinct”, and Huey will destroy the Blue Prints, and then Rex will be Hall trying to recreate what his father did, but ending up an inferior Metal Gear over Huey’s, as Huey had more experience.

      • Raven_Sorrow

        Think “Indominus-rex” XD

  • Sovereign SnaKe

~Ohh Portable Ops.. The sequel to Snake Eater that no one played. I’m calling it right now, there’s going to be a lovers quarrel between Revolver Ocelot & Kaz Miller in The Phantom Pain. ^_^

  • MichaelPayneV

Question: Yes, i;m already bring you, so i’ll be quiet…i mean quick.

This is only for Hideo fans who are Assassin’s Creed fans as well.

Would you play “A Hideo Kojima” Assassin’s Creed, actually, would you like Ubisoft to let Hideo end the Assassin’s Creed franchise once for all, in a way only Kojima could, and by that i mean EPIC Boss fight with Juno?

    • ObsessedGeorge

I don’t give a flying f…squirrel for the Assassin’s Creed series. It has become the next Call Of Duty. So, Kojima wasting time with Ubisoft? No way sir.

      • MichaelPayneV

“It has become the next Call Of Duty.” Yet the first 3 are Amazing, and the Present Day Story has a lot of potential, so the only one who could save this universe, is Hideo!

Anything Hideo touches turns in to Gold, so if he makes an Assassin’s Creed, that is in no way time wasted, HELL, if Hideo does a COD, IF.

Hideo can make sh*t look amazing, and i mean it on both figuratively, and literally, just look how great is D-Horse’s poop rendered, look at the layers.

        http://img.theepochtimes.com/n3/eet-content/uploads/2014/08/18/Screen-Shot-2014-08-18-at-3.52.08-pm-674×450.png

TL;DR: Any franchise Hideo would touch would turn in to GOLD!

        • Le Guy who drowned quiet

Dhs poop is pure shit looks like flu shit and is shitty I would like if dh has diarrhea

    • Eugene Voldo

Simply put – no. I don’t want any existing series to be handled by Hideo
Kojima. I want to see him creating a new IP, a completely new saga. I’m not particularly
interested in him being “game director-for-hire”.

      • Raven_Sorrow

I agree that i too prefer to see Hideo Kojima create a new IP. BUT i also agree that Assassin’s Creed would win much by having Kojima direct it. AC’s story right now is all over the place and Kojima could contribute to improve that easily. But since in MGS you could play with an Altair suit and in PW you can “Eagle-jump” into a straw-box, I would LOVE to see an AC element in the new TPP 😉

        • Eugene Voldo

Well, MGS story is all over the place too, so in this sense Kojima will only create more problems and chaos instead of fixing story flow. But if we are talking about gameplay
then sure in theory Kojima could improve AC. The only problem is AC development
team works on tight schedule always meeting deadlines (it’s somewhat amazing
when you think about the scale of AC games) so I think we will not see any
differences between Kojima’s AC and non-Kojima’s AC. Sadly Kojima need
time to cook a good ideas and Ubisoft will not give him such luxury.

      • MichaelPayneV

So what you’re saying is that you weren’t interested in Silent Hills?

        • Eugene Voldo

Yes. Well, to be quiet honest I wasn’t interested in Silent Hills
because first of all I don’t have a PS4. But still I would like to see Kojima
creating something completely new rather directing existing IPs, even if it looks and plays good.

          • MichaelPayneV

Well, that’s a pretty good point.

  • MichaelPayneV

Eye movement, looks like Hideo is doing the same thing with the way he moves the camera, keeping most fo the time your focus on center, avoiding incoherent mess, you can especially see that in GZ.

    https://youtu.be/6wCrdINidls

After Watching Video Question: Is it just me, or in GZ, the guy shoots the RPG from the Right, and it moves your eye to the left, when Kaz is almost hit, and then is transitioned to snake shooting from the right?

    Food for taught.

    • stocchinet .

Kojima is obsessed with this movie, for a good reason, it’s awesome

    • SNKtheStampede

Interesting, but I believe it’s quiet different because of the continuous “piano sequenza” (I believe it’s “sequence shot” in english) that kojima uses. A big part of the movement your eyes do in Mad Max following a scene detail is done by the camera itself in GZ. You can also see a great amount of zooming and focus change. Personally a think the use of zoom in particular to be excessive maybe just because i don’t like it that much, but I understand that when “long shooting” a long field, frenetic scene like GZ ending that’s the most practical device to move the focus between near and long fields. However, I love the overall result. Directing in “piano sequenza” is very, very hard, but Kojima is doing virtuosity at his first attempt! (not that he is a new comer…)

  • Sovereign SnaKe

~Ohh Portable Ops.. The sequel to Snake Eater that no one played. I’m calling it right now, there’s going to be a lovers’ quarrel between Revolver Ocelot & Kaz Miller in The Phantom Pain. ^_^

  • BurntFM

I don’t know about you guys but I really liked the idea of the different PMCs in MGS4. I mean they had so much potential as really unique adversaries, but since the game was so heavy in trying to close the plot holes of the series. There was no room to develop what was right in front of them. I wish the PMC were more memorable. I mean, the videos painted a different picture from what we got.

  • FMercenary

Does anyone know if they ever released a 60fps version of the short E3 2015 trailer for download?

what the hell man! spoilers 🙁

          • Joaquin Romero Victorica

We where talking about snow since the last year wtf XD. People who has been here for ages will Remember my post. There is no spoiler dude
This was shown long time ago. I just made made my own research that fit preatty much with some scenes on tpp showing snow and other stuff (=

        • Ravenous

Sorry dude, that’s their sound-studio, and they used it for MGS4 among other things (Shadow Moses anyone?), so I don’t think that is proof of anything other than the fact that they have a Foley (I believe thats the name) studio :

I haven’t seen the interview you linked to, but I have seen other clips of Kojima Productions staff showing the 3D scanning rig, Mo-Cap in action and this sound studio where they specificly said that it was also used to make sounds for atleast MGS4.

          • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Dude are you trolling? Go and watch the interview. he is showing stuff especific related to metal gear solid v and details around the world of the game not mgs4. Why you do such a statement before even watch the video?

          • Ravenous

I didn’t have good enough cell reception to stream video from the building I was in that time, I’ve watched it now, and it just confirms what I wrote in my previous post: this is KP’s old Foley-studio, and it hasn’t been changed in layout or anything since they recorded sounds for MGS4 Oo

          • Joaquin Romero Victorica

You are just assuming they only Uses the snow tools for mgs 4 where there is 99% of chance that snow will be in the game. The guy is showing exacty the things specific for mgs V.

I feel you haven’t see the footage from the chopper window and you are the typo guys ” I believe it when I see it ”
Then again I also see what are you doing here.

I will not argue with you. when tpp arrives and snow will be confirmed. Come back to me

          • Ravenous

Sorry, Imm not trying to troll or anything, I’m just saying the interview is about sounds in gaming in general and not specificly TPP, and if you check out the article I linked to you’ll see examples of how they made the sound-effects for MGS3 AND MGS4 using that very studio, so the fact that they have the equipment to make snow-effects is hardly conclusive of anything other than that they have the equipment for it…
Like you, I’m also hoping for a snow-covered map in TPP, and the chopper-pics could possibly show a few snowflakes, but I’m not taking it for granted quite yet 😉

Saying that the Foley studio is proof of snow in the game is like saying that the broken airsoft AK is proof of there being AK’s in the game, except that we’ve already seen the russian soldiers carrying AK’s, it’s quite possible, but not in any way proven 😉

        • Tong Ninja

          I wouldn’t say this is 100% confirmed. 😛

They are using past examples to show how they create sounds using Foley. So the Snow Area (using salt and a little bit of water) was used for the footsteps on snow when Snake infiltrates Shadow Moses again in MGS4.

The other sounds were used for both MGSV and past MGS games

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmr8t-MnsSg
Skip to 7:00 for Foley System used in MGS4.

Not saying that you are outright wrong, as there is a fairly good chance that we will see a snowy region. If there is snow, they would use the same Foley methods as MGS4 to record the footsteps on snow. 🙂 There was a helicopter picture that might of shown snowy weather outside the helicopter window. I really do hope for a snow area as well! 😀

    • Mauricio Acosta

Just saw the video… Nice dude! Yes it does seem like we will have snowy areas, I wonder where.
