Sony Japan has announced a new series of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain themed Walkmans, phones and tablets. They come pre-installed with some of the songs from the game’s soundtrack, and are releasing on September 2nd, the game’s release day in Japan.

Yep I still walk with my 4gen iPod touch. I dont like to clutter up my phone and drain it’s battery only to end up with 5% battery when I get out of work. I listen to music daily in the morning and afternoon when taking the train. Although, my android phone seems to play better quality music than my iPod. I can really noticed it. I’d get a Walkman because I know they provide better quality output than the iPod.
Battery life for modern phones are so great that’s a negligible complaint. Getting an extra hour out of your phone is hardly a selling point, I’d say. Then again I’m not the target demographic as you and WhatTheJuicay are clearly closer to their it.
Yes, if people want a device for storing and listening to music in lossless formats such as WAV or FLAC.

It makes sense in a way. People look at reviews of other commodities before purchasing. I dont think its a great practice because of how it is abused,and i completely get your point. They are relied on faaaar to much and it’s sad when a decent or great game gets buried because the reviews didn’t seem to reflect that.
Ah yes, one of the few things related to TPP that I will not touch or look at, reviews. No point, after all I’m already buying the game.
I’ll look at the scores for the lols, won’t effect my purchase of course, but if we see loads of 10s I’ll get giddy with excitement. (Hasn’t happened since TLoU, well Bloodborne too I guess).

Yeah, either you got a decent amount of time off or you get a little, this way you don’t have to rush or squeeze anything, if you only get a little time off than there is no need to rush anything as you won’t finish as much as you want to anyway, or you get a lot of time off and you don’t rush anything because you have more than enough time to finish what you want, but if you only have a middle amount of time (like just one week) you know you will have enough time if you rush to get done what you want, lol.

Hmm…yongyea stated in the most recent episode of The Codec, that he won’t be able to be a part of the next episode (this Saturday?) because he’s going to LA for some reason he’s not allowed to talk about…yet.
A new bootcamp has started according to JunkerHQ, and as far as we know, the japanese bootcamp was for a complete playthrough and quite possibly reviewing TPP, and thus gave the participants much more time with the game than the one NA had earlier this year…would it be safe to assume that Yongyea is going to post more impressions or maybe even a full review of TPP after the embargo ends on Sunday (rumored atleast)?
Yong said outright that the GC gameplay-analysis video he’s mentioned earlier won’t happen because of the trip to LA, and that it won’t be worth doing because he’s got better stuff lined up and would rather focus on the countdown for now.
I’d be thrilled if he get’s more time with TPP and freedom to explore as he wants for a more in-depth impressions or maybe even a review 🙂

Yeah, it seems weird, but it could be done that way because of MGO’s delay, or simply that they wish to have a controlled enviroment for the reviews to reduce the chances of footage making it out before the game actually releases?
I mean, the japanese bootcamp was for a full playthrough of the game’s story, and why would they do that if it’s not for reviews? (If you guys have any suggestions, go for it)

Not for the reviews themselves, simply as a measure to keep footage from being leaked I imagine, and in a controlled enviroment they can let the reviewers actully get their hands on FOB and MGO action considering that MGO won’t be launching before October.
But it could be to cover up flaws or even trying to manipulate the reviews in some way or another too I guess, but I don’t see that as a very likely reason for them hosting this bootcamp if they have any confidence in the game at all.
Maybe they are hosting the bootcamp to give the reviewers a special build of the game without timers for developing gear needed to progress the story to make sure no reviews are based on a mere fraction of the game or something?

1. Unfortunately this is where GZ really messes things up for the story as we do not know if Big Boss actually got any of those tapes or if he actually ever listened to them. We as the players get to collect and listen to them but there is no indication or acknowledgement that either Kaz or Big Boss ever actually listened to them or ever even had them.
2. They are tied very closely together, we don’t know exactly but what we do know is that their relationship is far more complex than we are assuming, it isn’t as basic as friends or foes.

Very possible, but from a gameplay stand point they might not change the character assets at all, but this point can’t be held either way, so having the suits the same does not prove much and having it change does not prove much either, it is something we are unsure of and can’t build anything solid off of.

So is Ocelot, so who’s to say that Ocelot s not there to make sure Snake and Kaz stay with the idea that Zero is the one who did it, to keep Skull Face’s History intact, as Skull Face needs Snake in onrder to take down Zero!
What I want to knew is what happened after Paz told Skull Face where Zero was, seems like a pretty big thing to ignore.

I keep thinking if psycho mantis was in the hospital for himself or he was capture on the facility for investigation ? . Pyscho seems to kill some soldiers and even the Chopper .
But If ocelot have a good relationship with Psycho mantis and he was the one sending psycho to rescue “BB” , Why the hell volgin is cheasing BB. There is one scene where you can perfectly clear see Pyscho riding a Horse with volgin .
I think in this particulary scene there is no one to fight and we are just shooting like a miniac due to the Traumatic Brain Injuries of our character

For cases like the Xbox One, yes, in the case of the Xbox One cover, I would take the console logo off the front and only leave it on the spin, but for the PS4 there is no logo on the plastic case itself, and so it stays on the front of the cover.

I personally like the first one better (I like how you’ve simplified it from the first version you did).
And I think I would remove the PS4 logo from the front, or you could use a PS4 cover template instead. It might make it easier to see the PS4 logo but on the other hand it would give you less space on the front cover.

Just found 1 interesting theory about Camp Omega in TPP, and that the Camp Omega 9 years after GZ is the Camp omega we saw in the initial GZ reveal, the bigger one!

Yes, it was, also the refuge camp from the left was at ground level, while in GZ is 1 meter bellow the ground. and the cliff from the right around the tower is nonexistent in the initial reveal.
It may just be Redesign, but you can’t denny that Camp Omega in the initial reveal looks like how it would look 9 years after GZ!

I think it did about a month back, again though don’t remember when.
It did around the middle of July, when Konami said that the Game is finsihed, and that the Development team has moved to optimizing the PC Version.
So basically if TPP wasn’t releasing on PC, it would have been released this month, maybe 2 weeks early compared to now!
Don’t say that, it makes it hurt more, just thinking how I could have it about now 🙁

I think it would be foolish of Kojima if he DIDN’T have David Hayter voice the English version of the trailer. David is as much a part of MGS as Otsuka-San and I’d have a little less respect for Kojima if he didn’t acknowledge that David Is what made the character come to life in the west.
I watched the Interview again, and looks like Hideo was not the one who wanted a new Snake, he did say that he was the one, but his face blew him away, you san see in the 2013 Game Trailer interview that he got a bit sad when Geoff mentioned David, but quickly, professional, said the excuse!

Actually the love of Play Station is nothign more than Konami and Sony Contract, Hideo was never about platforms, and judging by the extra “Directing” work that was unfortunatelly only on the PC version in GZ, but will be in TPP on Ps4 as well, and how Hideo pushed the PC Version, and created a demand of a PC Version that no one even asked for, as MGS3 and 4 were not on PC, i will say that if you want to make Hideo Trully Happy, even if you won’t play it on PC, even if you don’t have a PC, along side your version, buy the Steam version as well, “This is how Kaz (Hideo) whould’ve wanted…”!
I’m playing Day one on Pc =) . But Sony has love to Mgs . They where together for many years . Kojima is now a multiplatform developer and i think this will be the case for his next games
Yeah, i really wish one of Hideo’s Next projects is a Live Action Movie, i wanna see how he handles a real Camera, maybe for a start help Del Toro directing Pacific Rim 2 and Hellboy 3!

I don’t want to sound like a Fan-Boy, but this is defintelly PC, it wouldn’t make sense to connect a PS4 to the Editing PC to record Footage for the Trailer, when you could simply run the Game on the same PC, and use than Footage without having to use lots of cables and lose a lot of time!

We cant possibly know if this is PC or any other current gen console footage,since the textures are near identical,and all version as shown from previus screenshots have the same ammount of foliage(ofc PC has slightly better drawing distance,so foliage in farther distance may look denser)…ohh and the elephant in the room is,this aint direct feed picture…

You know : If you look closely even objects, Ground and Trees has been change on Pc. I think they use some asset of the E3 2013 original Trailer with some changes . It’s preatty cool : It’s been long time since i see a whole new game on Pc .. K.P nailed it
Looks like PC has the Original uncompressed Textures, and far more objects on screen at once, and an overall better LOD.
Is already confirmed by the Fox Engine itself that MGSV is a PC Game ported to Consoles, that PC is the main platform, and funny how at they time they “criptic” said that, but they said that the PC version was not confirmed, i was just laughing, and then Gamescom 2014 came, and literaly screamed in my room when i saw the “Steam Cardboard Box” live on twitch!

Yeah, i started being suspicious when Hideo said at Pax 2012 that GZ was runing on a PC, i was confused by him even mentioning it, and got intrigued when Hideo said at GDC 2013 “And this is runing on PC right now!” that’s when i have gone from “what if?” To “Just make it Official Already, Hideo!”, and then the next months he kept taking about PC, about how he started with PC Games, how hard it was back then to develop for PC, and how easy it is with Fox Engine developing on PC, and outting that Game on any platform without needing a Devkit for that platform, and how only Fox Engine is able to do this!
i have different meaning of huge,sorry pal…there is a difference,but not mindblowingly big(even ground zeroes in which the consoles versions were clearly rushed,didnt have a big difference)…to PC-users it might be,so they can usualy defend their purchase (same could be said towards some console users ofc)..to me all versions are pretty much the same…hell if you put lastgen versions with current gen/PC versions together,i bet you 100 bucks that some folk will mix those two…
All in all its all subjective thinking when it comes to pointing out if the difference is big or not…

Well there something i know from Steam Key developer :
Cutscenes on The phantom pain will uses the same assets for every single platform – Pc will use Scale Textures – Dinamic Super Resolution or Real 4k but the rest is the same .
Gameplay in another hand is a whole different world . They add watter Tesellation – Improved Textures – Draw distance scale – Better Foliage – Shadows – Antialising – Hbao+ and more things coming
And you can see 1 of them here, look at Snake ears, this one has tessellation!
Aww, just water tessellation? No hair works? At least the PC has improved Borehamwood – bokeh makes everything look better.

He said that TPP will be his last, that he wants Konami to take over the Series, and that he has plans of his own (Projects) for the next 10 years, now we know what 1 of that projects was, Silent Hills, but we don’t know the other ones!
TL;DR: Hideo will give us something new in the next 10 years, whether is a Video Game, a Movie is a Seires, only time will tell!

I guess Konami didn’t like his plan, i think they wanted after MGSV to already start working on the Next Metal Gear, but he was already in the development of Silent Hills, so Konami wanted to put Silent Hills on hold, and have Hideo already work on the next MG for at least 4 years, so Hideo said “Fukk you, i quit, but not untill i finish TPP”!

The way i see it is that he wanted another Creator to take ove the Series starting from the Big Boss Saga, but got to make MGS3 himself ebcause of the backlash MGS2 Got, so he wanted MGS3 to be his grand finale, but then fans got mad for letting soneone else make MGS4, so he did MGS4 as a definitive ending as possible, even go as far as to make sure that Konami won’t be able to continue Soldi’s Story, by making him age in advance.
Now judging how much MGSV reminds me of Del Toro, i will say that Hideo got to Konami and said “i want to make MGSV, not 5, V, he probably got refused for the budget, so he made Peace Walker, then he came to Konami and said, “Imagine this Mother Base Mechanic in a bigger scale, it will sell millions” so Konami accepted, and since Hideo got sic of this Series he made sure that this will be the greatest Game ever made, and his last one!
Now this is the Tricky part, something that i never thought off till now. I have a feeling that Hideo has done everything possible to get fired, and you know why? It was the only way to end this Series for good, if he kep working at Konami, Fans would demand the next Metal Gear Games to be still made by Kojima, and he would do it, but he would waste all of his time and life with 1 Franchise, so he said “Fukk it, MGSV is The Best and Last Metal Gear, this is the last Konami Game you get from me!”
