Stefanie Joosten: Being in MGSV really changed my life, one of the best experiences I have ever had

In an interview with gaming website VG-Reloaded, Stefanie Joosten (known as Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) talked a bit about her role in one of this year’s biggest titles.

Stefanie brought Quiet to life by not only lending her likeness to the game through 3D scanning, but also doing the voice acting and motion capture for the character, for which she had to wear a special suit. She remembers the suit was a little hard to get into and out of, but other than that the sessions were a lot of fun. There were some challenges, like how to use weapons correctly, but she was able to learn things throughout the process.

Stefanie is very impressed with some of the cosplays she has seen of her character. “They really are some of the most devoted fans I’ve seen.” She has actually cosplayed herself before, as a teenager, but is a bit embarrassed about it because she feels it was pretty low-quality.

She would certainly be interested in doing more video game work. “I would definitely love to work on another game! I mostly do modeling and acting work, but working on Metal Gear Solid is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I also love working with people who have similar interests, and since I’m a gamer myself I think I easily click with people working in the game industry.”

Ever since it was revealed she got the role as Quiet, she’s been getting a lot of attention. “I must say that being in MGSV has really changed my life. It is very strange to suddenly have this many people following me on my social media, but I also think Metal Gear fans are one of the best people to be followed by. Mostly everyone is very polite and supportive.”

Somewhat related; Stefanie Joosten has also been streaming her gameplay sessions with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you can go to her Youtube channel by following this link.
