Awesome news :D! I hope it wins much πŸ™‚ and best tech definitely needs to go to MGSV imo.

Btw sry for talking about LiS again, but is this a real award? I read it won it last year haha. Such a funny name.

    “Best Curl-Into-The-Foetal-Position-And-Weep-Uncontrollably Game”

  • proceeder

F U! I don’t need some bureaucrat’s approval to know MGS is good. Keep your review scores and awards. Snake won’t need em.

    • Spectralbuttplug

Yeah but they fucking deserve those awards but who r u to insult them tho?

      • proceeder

Just another fan who’s played MGS V for 473 hrs, finished MGS 4 8 times and played all the other MGS installments directed by Hideo

        • Spectralbuttplug

          WUT!

  • Mr.Pony

Another award ceremony for Kojima to be barred from?

    • He could attend GDC as a developer, but yeah, he won’t be able to accept awards for stuff he made at Konami, probably.

      • Alex

This is why DICE is giving him the big award. Kojima is getting his time in the limelight whether Konami likes it or not lol.

  • BurntFM

    Here are my predictions:
Game of the year: The Witcher 3
    Innovation Award: Undertale
    Best Design: Bloodborne
Best Visual Art: The Witcher 3
    Best Audio: MGSV: TPP
    Best Technology: MGSV: TPP

I have no idea how they judge these things. It just seems right ( ; ^ 3 ^)

    • Gatsu

There’s more awards when check the site, I personally hope LIS get for Best Narrative but I think it was against some monsters so I dunno. Imo it deserve more awards too :D.

      • Yes, the ones listed here are just the categories MGSV was nominated for (or a honorable mention).

  • Jav

Do we have some little explanation of why snake is called “venom” and “punished”? I’m saying this because of “naked” in 3.

    • Spectralbuttplug

Because he feels guilty(punished) and for venom its related to ahab in a way.

  • hunner
    • SaladinSilver

      That’s actually really cool.

    • Spectralbuttplug

      HOLY FUCK!!!!!

    • SNKtheStampede

Holy phantom! I didn’t notice! Spectacular!!!!

    • Danny Patten

Welcome to the mind of a psychotic ‘war-hero’.

    • FMercenary

      I’m getting the chills now… D:

    • Solid PhoeniX

Strangely enough last week I saw the final Cutscene with Paz (Gross BTW) and after realizing what it was all about then it all clicked and made sense as to why her wounds still seemed fresh after 9 years, Boss is a really damaged person. a Phantom seeing phantoms. . months after this game’s release and it still gives me chills. Im taking my time getting to 100% completion and Im enjoying it.

  • SaladinSilver

Why wasn’t TPP on the innovation list? As far as i am concern it’s one of the most innovative games of this decade.

  • Venom_Sina

V will win in all categories nominated (probably),the others are not much of a challenge, lol.
Let’s be honest, this Konami/Kojima situation really affected the media and everyone took Kojima’s side.I don’t know why,but this always comes to my mind.

    • Spectralbuttplug

Let’s be fucking honest every devs took kojima’s sides and you probably know the rest but mgsv deserves a lot of those awards especially soundtrack

      • Venom_Sina

I think they deserve to win the “Best Audio” award.Sounds were really good in the game.

        • Spectralbuttplug

Sure!Same for the voice acting(except skull face)

    • Tong Ninja

Out of the categories that TPP were nominated in, I think that they will win Best Technology and Best Audio. Bloodborne will take the Best Design award and Witcher 3 for Game of the Year. Just my predictions. πŸ™‚

  • MrVux007

Lol im surprised to see that order 1886 only got an honorable mention for visual art…despite its flaws that game sure did have the best visual art this generation (IMO)

  • MrVux007

    *off-topic*
In recent GG interview, they stated they are focusing on world density more then world size:

Executive Producer of Guerilla Games,Mark Norris has stated that the map will fully deliver for a game the size of Horizon Zero Dawn.He said the following:

“Players will be able to use a variety of weapons and methods to kill enemies, with loot from bodies used to help craft new items. We have also incorporated a weather system and day/night cycle while keeping it loading-screens free game.

I think it’s always interesting when we talk about an open world, many wonder how big the map is.I think one of the things you should ask is how dense the population of that map is, what activities will be in it or if it will be a map where you have to run where there is absolutely nothing.”

“We are really seeing the quality of the content that will be on the map, the number of secondary missions, how we want to shape the main story over the world map and feel full.”

“We do not have a size that we can give, but I can say that we have done an analysis of recent open world games and I think we have achieved something that will be good for Horizon.”

What do you guys think about this? I for one dont really care as long as the story and game-play is good …also new screenshot !

    • Spectralbuttplug

HONESTLY I CANT TRUST THESE GUYS AFTER SHADOW FALL!

    • That’s good news, there isn’t really a point to having a huge open world if there is nothing to do in it.

      • Kol Leqejza

like GTA V. i’ve played yakuza 4 recently and the map is tiny! but it’s bursting with content. i only got 70%

        • Yakuza’s amount of content is utterly insane.

    • CΓ©sar H. Sandoval

Hope that Konami takes a hint, MGSV open world was pretty dull once the novelty passed.

  • Hekke

can’t wait for kojima’s next project, i hope it would be something with horror.

  • Danny Patten

I think Bloodborne will take all the main categories while MGS has a pretty good shot at Best Technology.
The others were too buggy form the start whereas MGS only had server issues with did not interfere with the single player campaign.

  • Spectralbuttplug

    DEAL QWITH IT!

  • Venom_Sina

Quick question:Which version of “The Man Who Sold The World” is your favorite?Original (David Bowie) or cover (Midge Ure)?
I love both versions, but Midge Ure’s version feels cooler and more mysterious than Bowie’s version. What are your thoughts?

    • Gatsu

I like Midge’s version more, it has that eerie tune.

  • PrinceHeir

MGSV TPP, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3 are GOTY for me πŸ™‚
