Kojima visits graphics lab at ICT and VFX studio Digital Domain

Hideo Kojima is still in Los Angeles, and he visited several companies today, posting some pretty interesting updates on his Twitter.

The Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) is a research institute exploring the interaction between humans and computers. One area they focus on is developing new techniques ‘for creating and displaying photo-real computer graphics of people, objects and environments’. Sounds similar to what Kojima is doing in terms of 3D scanning and the Fox Engine.

Looks like he had his image captured in what they call the ‘Light Stage’.

“I went into “The Light Stage” at ICT lab.”

“To the next stage.”

Kojima also paid a visit to Digital Domain, a company that specializes in visual effects for movie and other video productions.

“What a hospitality found in the Digital Domain’s parking lot.”

This studio has created several CG trailers for big games such as Gears of War, Killzone and Halo.

What are all these trips for? Well, the most logical guess would be, of course, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
