Guillermo del Toro: Kojima and I are still working on doing something together

As fans are still mourning over the cancellation of Silent Hills, the collaboration project between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, in an interview with IGN del Toro says there are still plans for a new project.

I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].

Del Toro also revealed some more about the ideas they had for Silent Hills. Though the project was still in a very early phase, what they were thinking of doing sounds very promising.

We were in the planning stages, and it’s a shame it’s not going to happen. We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.

Let’s hope something will come of this collaboration eventually, even if it’s after Kojima’s supposed departure from Konami.
