The Metal Gear series has now sold 61.5 million copies

Total lifetime sales for the Metal Gear franchise has surpassed 61.5 million units as of the end of March, 2024. Konami has updated the number in their latest quarterly report, meaning 400,000 games in the series were sold in the first three months of the year.

Most of the sales will likely have been for the Master Collection Vol. 1, released in October of last year. A volume 2 has been mentioned, but there are currently no further details on which titles will be included. Furthermore, a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is currently in production, and is likely set to launch later this year, although there is no official word yet on a release date.
