Another picture of MGSV GZ’s tablet functionality, all versions of the game are supported

Some more on the tablet/smartphone functionality for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes: first of all, Kojima tweeted another photo explaining how you can use the touch screen to navigate the map.

“By taking iDroid on tablet/smartphone out, you can pitch/slide by finger.”

According to Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, senior producer at Kojima Productions, this is very helpful. When asked if the PlayStation versions will support these devices as well, he confirmed it will be in all versions.

It would be sweet if snake equips his idroid when you’re scrolling the map on your tablet.

    • Yeah, you would see him using it in real time, making the same gestures as you do. I don’t know if that is the case but it would be nice indeed.

Maybe a submenu that allows you to customize your weapons or a menu to listen to audio files.

The point of using the tablet is so that you could see the contents of the iDroid without having to stop Snake from moving

Look at the pic, I don’t see him multi-tasking. Have you played zombi u? You need to open your backpack and equip weapons, ammo and equipment in real time and it’s pretty nerve-wrecking when there’s a zombie nearby. If kojima implements the customization feauture on the tablet, people might feel the same tension if a guard is nearby.
(the audio file menu might be a bit stupid)

I’m saying that the tablet functionality for Metal Gear Solid V works in the same way that the radar in Metal Gear Solid works. Meaning it doesn’t interrupt gameplay. In the pic Snake is still in his prone position, he’s not looking at the iDroid. Thats the point of tablet functionality. Otherwise, they wouldn’t implement it.

  • I don’t understand why they don’t just port it to the Wii U, where this thing is native.

      THIS.
It’s all in real time, I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it in the first place. I don’t know why Konami doesn’t want to help the Wii U get some great 3rd party titles, they have a good relationship with Nintendo. They’re worried about sales for a console with 3 million sales most likely. I don’t own own a PS4 or Xbox One, but I would gladly take a Wii U version over a PS3/360 version.

Getting it for the PS3 as well. I agree, Wii U controls are fantastic. You could get Codecs are heard out of the gamepad, checking the iDroid by just having to look down for a second, while everything moves on in the real time, same level of distraction Snake would have on the field (added realism and immersion, get it?), the Wii U is perfect for this game. Although we all are aware that the Wii U won’t look as great as the PS4/Xbox One but the system is definitely capable of a 1080p image at 60FPS. Texture detail would be just lower.

But if we get a PC release, I’m sold. I’d rather play the game on a platform I know I can max the game out on than have to fork over another $400 just to play the game at it’s optimal experience on a console.

          • Codec from game pad would be cool I like what they did with arkham origins on wii u. I’m not a pc gamer so I’m most likely getting mgs5 on ps3 then a few alters when I have a ps4 I will wait for a complete edition.

Sorry for the off topic, but where are you from dude?

          • Anthony Filipas

Where I’m from? I live in Tennessee now, but from Oregon originally.

Filipas is a Greek name, that’s why I asked. Nevermind.
