Ground Zeroes on next gen? Kojima: ‘It’s a secret I can’t talk about’, answers might come ‘sooner than you think’
An interesting bit from another interview with Kojima that was conducted when he was in Dubai, from DvLZGame (keep in mind this is a translation).
Kojima was asked if Ground Zeroes will be released for next gen systems. He answered that this was ‘a secret he could not talk about’.
The interviewer continued by saying he expected Microsoft and Sony to announce their new consoles this E3 or sooner, and he expects to see more of Ground Zeroes then, since he believes it will be for those systems. Kojima replied by saying: “We will see about this one day… Maybe sooner than you think.”
Of course Kojima is deliberately being vague here, so how to interpret his comments is hard to say. But it does seem to at least imply the game is going to be available on the next generation systems. At the vey least Kojima is working on next gen consoles with the FOX Engine. All we can do now is wait.

it looks this gen
It could be coming to this gen as well as next gen, that is what I would expect based on what Kojima said here. But it also depends on when the game is set to release, I guess.
Why would he release the same game on the next-gen systems? We will have to buy it a second time?! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!!
That happens a lot when a new generation comes around. A lot of third party launch period titles for PS3 and 360 were also released on PS2 and Xbox.

He’s not releasing the same game on this Gen and NexGen systems.rising will be coming out this gen and ground zero will be the next. And clearly it’s NexGen are you joking me check out the graphics…
The trailer ran on a PC with the same specs as the PS3. What you are seeing is doable on current generation consoles.
Please Kojima, dont make me buy another console just for this game. seriously, next-gen will be a great thing for the console industry, but i cant afford a new console right now. (im brazilian and everything game-related is expensive here, where a new console would come to stores at 2.000 R$) the only game that would make me kill to get a new console is of course, Metal Gear, but it would take me at least 4~5 years to get it ):
Im sure Kojima reads this and now rethinks if he should release it for the current generation
…
*Rethinking…*
I’m brazilian too, and I’d say you sir are pretty clueless.. Such a broken argument. Grow up please

I say the weirdest things sometimes!
If ps3 and ps4 somehow share the same servers online then i wouldn’t care if there were two releases, but i think its going to be next gen. because if it is for the ps3 then we will play mgo for another 3/4 years by then ps4 will have been out for at least 2 years and i don’t think they want to miss out, on being the best graphics, game, story for the ps4.
Kojima replied by saying: “We will see about this one day… Maybe sooner than you think.”
GAH!!! I hope he’s referring to the newly announce PlayStation meeting on Feb 20th!
That’s what I was thinking when the meeting was announced yesterday.
It will be announced 20th february, along with PS4 announcement that Sony already teased. So yes, makes total sense: Ground Zeroes is coming to next-gen consoles.
I was thinking the same thing, it would be nice but I’m keeping my expectations low at this moment. If it happens, all the better.
