Ground Zeroes: PS4 retail version might come to the west, no limited edition for XB1 in Japan, launch info coming very soon
Steven Key, European brand manager for Kojima Productions, provided some interesting bits of information regarding the retail versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Many people were disappointed Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes wouldn’t be getting a retail release for next-gen consoles, but it seems this isn’t yet set in stone. We already know Japan will be getting a retail release, in the form of multiple editions no less, and after several people asked Steven Key (European brand manager for Kojima Productions) about a retail version (and collector’s edition) for Ground Zeroes on PlayStation 4, he gave the following answers:
@nazihfares @KonamiUK We’re working on the European editions at the moment. We’ll make an announcement when we have more info.

@animeblog_de @KonamiUK We’ll do our best to make this happen, more updates soon.

Interestingly enough, he also confirmed the Japanese limited edition of the game isn’t coming to Xbox One:
@jpgames_de We haven’t announced any Special Editions in Europe yet, that’s all! Limited Edition in Japan isn’t on Xbox One.

Someone asked about a PC version of the game:
@nerfdurf Sorry, there’s no info on that at the moment. I’ll update as soon as I know more. Thanks.
— Steve Key (@steven_key) November 19, 2013
Lastly, Steven Key assured that full announcements on the release of the game are coming ‘very soon’:
@yousefalhussa We’ll have full announcements about the release very soon – sorry I can’t tell you more.

@blackoni6 Sorry – I only look after Europe, so I don’t know about the US team. I’m sure they’ll be trying though.

I hope there is a usa retail version!!!
For the love of god, who do we have to tweet to get this to happen?
since I’m sticking to current gen I’m glad we will get retail versions. as for that gamestop march release date i hope its true!
It’s very likely. My problem is that Dark Souls II releases March 11 and I simply cannot divide my attention between these two games. Anyone else feel my pain?
Retail version on PS4 for US please.
Agreed, who can we contact to make this happen
And about Brazil ???
We are a big country ! Too many players Like MGO and MGS here !!!
Hey guys here at metalgearinfromer who can we contact to help bring this to the US?
I don’t know, you could try things like the official MGS Facebook or Konami Twitter, or even a petition (but I don’t know if that really works). If they realize there is a lot of demand for it they might reconsider.
Good idea! This edition needs to come to Europe and the US, its too cool for us to miss out on
I’d even be willing to pay extra
Me too. Especially if we get some sort of special edition.
The figure is just frckin sweet. I need it.
Someone started a petition after being advised to do so by a Konami rep: https://www.change.org/petitions/konami-bring-mgsv-special-editions-bundles-physical-next-gen-editions-worldwide
The same guy who started the petition to bring Hayter back as Snake on the very same site? I don’t believe this site is worth my time, since their amount of influence seems to be small.
The petition is being monitored by a Konami PR guy though.
Still, I think konami already gave the green light for a retail edition in Europe.
Hope so.
Me too, I’m kind of a conservative type of guy when it comes
down to games
Oh man, we need to send this everyone!
You could try posting it on a few forums.
if japan and us gets retail ps4 versions and europe doesnt. i swear im not even gunna buy the game or TPP. im sick to death of konami totally leaving europe out. i seriously wish kojima productions would leave konami and find another publisher. i cant stand the company
That’s not really true I think. Sure, Japan gets the most stuff, but we got MGS4 25th Anniversary and The Legacy Collection.
I just hope they still change their minds, and I think they might.
we got the legacy collection what, 3 months after the us and japan did ? sorry nyxus i love u and all and i am constantly checking this site but i have to disagree. europe is always the last concern for konami. they are all about money and we are the smallest market. they should release things like the legacy collection worldwide on a set date. they didnt even have plans to release it for europe untill fans started to ask why.
Maybe you’re right. But the 25th Anniversary Edition of MGS4 was exclusive to Europe, for example. We also get pretty cool collector’s editions, usually.
Face it Nyxus, Europe is on the decline. Its influence in the world is shrinking rapidly as the Euro plummets to become the next Italian lire. Soon, game companies won’t even bother releasing their products there after your welfare-state system collapses.
That’s a silly thing to think where are you from exactly because here in Australia which is under Europe region for video games we get pretty much everything America or anyone else releases how are we treated badly yes we got some metal gear collections late but we still got them.
That’s a bit dramatic,don’t you think?
And how do you mean, Europe on decline. It’s the very opposite, just because konami does this, doesn’t mean that every game publisher has the same strategy. That’s like me saying that America won’t be a superpower in two decades from now, because of the debt limit they’ve been ‘building’ on and Detroit became bankrupt.
I can’t say anything about this, I have no idea of economics.
None of us do. Really none of us. But I wouldn’t think that it’ll be a smart move to replace the euro with our former currency. In other words, we shouldn’t segregate ourselves from Europe and step out of the EU.
(I still respect your political view if you disagree on that subject)
Yeah I think it’s to early to start complaining I don’t see the point of releasing ps3 and 360 boxed and the rest not, I don’t see why we wouldn’t get covers
i’ll get the JPN edition for PS4.
but it’ll probably awhile since i won’t be getting a PS4 for the next 2 years(backlog, money and all)
i do hope the PS4 US retail version comes out though.
