Hideo Kojima arrives in Taiwan for the Taipei Game Show, photos of the MGSV:TPP booth
Tomorrow, on January 31st at 1pm local time, Hideo Kojima is presenting Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at the Taipei Game Show. Today he arrived in Taiwan and visited the booth for rehearsals. Here are some pictures by Kojima himself, his PA Ayako Terashima and producer Ken Imaizumi.

An one hour lasting stage event in which Kojima will share ‘new information’ will be held tomorrow, but it won’t be streamed online, so don’t expect too much from it.
Edit: There’s a Taipei Game Show stream. Keep in mind though, it’s not guaranteed they will show the MGS event during the stream.

From what I understand is yes that twitch will stream it and rumors around town is release date is August . I think people are pulling that from all the pictures tht hideo posted on Twitter last night. Heh he also had big boss hiding in a mail Box in Taiwan heh

Finally weekend…can relax. Only thing that's left to do is wait for more stuff and to check if that twitch channel possibly will show live broadcast of TPP stage. But it would be weird though, because we received the info that there will be no live stream D: .

on a side note if this is at or after June then people who have gz should get to play a limited demo like the e3 version of grabbing intel for where kaz is then leaving. id be satisfied for a long time

And the final presentation could be at GDC. Well it is the only game show that I know is coming before E3 June.
I’ve always wondered if GZ would of been better reviewed if it had a beta of MGO. Though if both come out at same time , that can’t happen ten.

tbh.. its sorta crappy how they went exclusive.. I mean yea console owners will be happy but people gotta realize that if this continues, they’ll have to buy one of each for their games.. a Pc, A XB and PS.. competition is good but it is getting over the limit now.. with powerful consoles.. games should be going multi platform..not exclusive :/
Exclusives sound good to the owner of the console but imagine if every second game would be a exclusive ? Then what ? That’ll be bad for normal people with normal wages but will be good for the companies releasing the games (if people fall for it)
I agree but I know some people can’t do that. Me ? I have to own all systems. I usually buy all for everything on Playstation thet get Xbox exclusives and etc. it’s a good buisness model also because it promotes sales and have a chance to be unique . Idk If it’s a times exclusive or all exclusive.

This is the firs time Kojima is showing his mgs whole world. He must be sure this will be the best game he created
Lets be realistic.. Kojima is going to take every second of his 2015 release date window that he has already given us.. infact even if the game is done with everything, he’ll still keep it in his lap for more checking :/
Today I read some article after googling MGS 5 .. apparently according to the writer.. it could be pushed back to november 2015 .. like what the hell :/ That is TOO LONG.
Also, Im beginning to lose hope for the March release for the same reasons.. There is no way he’ll give it out so quickly.. he surely wants to take more time with it.. most high expectations going into Taipei is a showcase of a snowy region and what snake can do in the snow.. those are my highest expectations for 31st :/
ALSO, after that demoralizing post.. here is some good news ..in Yongyea’s video translation of the porto-potty he showed.. he did say that the bug checking is done .. so that is one silver lining I guess.. That is if the translation was accurate ..lets hope 🙂

Yeah I also read an article saying that it’s rumored to be pushed back to Nov which sucks but then again I can take solice in knowing they are making sure the game is ready unlike other developers. the “kept you waiting, huh?” Is synonymous with mgs for a reason 😉
Guys the reason they are saying rumor of nov ? Is because they think he won’t release this game around now till September because of all the big IPs being released. Only thing people are forgetting is that none o those games have any hype like MGS has built up. I’ll say whatever month koji releases it in , other games will delay themselves . Pretty sure the order and etc. Will not affect MGS sales as much as people think they will. I’ve always been thinking this summer for release. June to August sounds about perfect.
Lets hope he gives us ANY news at Taipei..

I don’t think a release date yet , well it’s Tapei which is pretty much aimed at Playstation. Now I giess I kinda gave myself an idea too. More ps than xbox1 yes? I still don’t think release because of it but at same time a release date night sell more ps4
thinking about it that way.. Kojima would be more loyal to PS .. but from a business man stand-point, he wouldnt do something like that for such reasons :/

They said in middle of last year I think that it might release Q4 2015 or even 2016, depending on how the development goes. Well coming this year and they’re on the finishing line. But dont give up hope for earlier release and don’t believe all you read. I’m positive that it won’t release so late. Kojima is a perfectionist, but he knows we dont want it so late after GZ.
Also we ain’t getting release date imo and won’t be March. Because they said no live stream. When they announce release date there gotta be a live stream, as they wanna make it a huge and loud announcement for everyone to hear. Which aint working imo if they tell ppl no stream and by any chance it does show in live stream tomorrow… they won’t lie to us like this when it would be about RD.

Same thoughts here.. them saying there isnt a live stream is basically telling fans “dont expect the release date”.. I too think that GDC in march is when they’ll finally give the date for Q2-Q3 and hopefully not Q4 :/

Man, the merchandise for this game has been awesome. A lot of games have ridiculous branded shirts and stuff. Everything for the phantom pain has looked really cool.

MGS is a great franchise, i like the direction kojima has taken on MGS. This whole project ogre thing was a genuis plan in his mind back then (probably after MGS4 2008).

Anyone know if the presentation will be in english? I would assume that it’s not going to be in japanese, but is the convention international enough to use english instead of translating from japanese to taiwanese?

That has something to do with Quiet’s appearance (among other things), he said so himself when criticized by reporters and other people from the game industry. That there was a reason for the way she looked, and once you knew why, you’d be ashamed of yourself.

The mod for the tgslive channel on twitch just said that Kojima will be at the sony booth only. that he won’t be at the stream on twitch .

It truly is a shame, there would be so many eyes on this stream, I wouldn’t be able to count on my fingers. Oh and Shalashaska, a few friends and I are going to be doing a let’s play of TPP when we become more popular. (also when the game EVENTUALLY comes out.)

Chinese always get’s the good stuff. They tend to have 2 versions of the games.
They can have Japanese voice with Chinese subs or English voice with Chinese subs.
Though i don’t know why Kojima won’t just make the console versions dual audio like the PC versions.

So I decided to sleep through the event and it seems I kind of made the right choice. By looking at below comments we didn’t get to see some kind of exciting stuff like trailer etc. Rising 2 is nice news I guess, but all I care about is TPP ;). Kojima then won’t maybe do it when he work on SH for years…
Some knew Taipei won’t give anything big, so I was preparing for slight disappointments while remaining excited.
Oh well, time to bury this sadness by playing other games ;(…life goes on…and the waiting.

Am I wrong about this thing? Did MGS4 release date was known in january 2008? I’m not sure it was. My conclusion is that we have to “suffer” everytime a MGS game comes out 🙂
